candie - I am so glad to hear that the doctor thinks it's benign.  Hopefully that's the case and you can put this past you!

I got a call from the dermatologist's office today.  I had a mole removed from my back last week.  She didn't seem too concerned, but told me they would call within a week, if something was wrong.  I figured by day 3 or 4 I was clear.  I tried to call them back, but they were closed already.  Now I'm kind of freaking out.  Normally I wouldn't care so much about a mole.  I've had this done before, but it was many many years ago.  My old derm took more skin and got clear margins.  He said it was precancerous cells.

So, today is my 1 year anniversary of my 1st BC diagnosis.  Seems kind of crazy what all has happened in a year!

Kittycat-Happy 1st (of many) Cancerversary!  I think it should be illegal to not call someone that has had cancer within 48hours after any test.  I want the dentist to tell me if it is a cavity or some kind of rare tooth tumor when I am in his chair...lol.

Candie-great prelim b9 news!  Best of luck with all of the other things that you are having to deal with right now.  You prove how strong us BC girls are!

Yeah, they should have called me within a couple days, if there's something wrong.  Let's hope it's to tell me I'm okay!  :)

Thanks for the good vibes!  Turns out the mole was slightly abnormal, but not cancer!  Thank God!!!  I told the nurse I was up every other hour last night.  I'm a 2x bc survivor and just started chemo.  She was really cool on the phone.  She said the derm wanted to re-check the mole in 4 weeks.  I told her I'd be in next week!  :)

I admire all of you who continue to work through BC treatment and after. I worked from home through most of chemo and then returned to the office and just couldn't do it ... out on disability at the moment. Thank goodness for Cobra!

Thanks TriciaK. I think I pushed too hard in the initial rounds of chemo and just wore myself out. By the time chemo was done and I was returning to work and the commute, my brain was mush and my body was a mess. Body is better, brain still isn't the same. I'm on disability at this point and my heart goes out to women who have absolutely no choice but to continue to work through all of this.

Woo hoo Candie!!!!!  So glad for the good news and, we'll be right here holding your hand through this:)   Huge applause to you for working too, you're right...we do what we must.)

Lottie, I also was fortunate to get disability, I live in Ireland and we have a different system here so I was thankful for the rest, but really admire all the ladies who continued on. I also had a long commute, up just after 5am and home 8pm and was exhausted. I'm very grateful I had the chance to sleep/rest when I needed to, but feel for the ladies who had no choice but to continue!

    hi to all,

I found out today that I have to have carotid artery surgery. My hip surgery needs to be postponed for at least 6 months.

I wonder where I could post this on here to see who has had it done. any suggestions?

candie1971 - you could do a keyword search on this site and find mention of carotid artery surgery. I'm sorry you have to have this done.

I saw my surgeon today after a 4 week wait and have an surgical biopsy scheduled for Monday. I'm so relieved that the wait will soon be over, I may even have results from the biopsy by next Friday.

    Praying for B9 always.

    Best to all

    Lottie

Hi Candie1971- Just caught your last post about your surgery. If you need surgery, it is called a carotid endarterectomy. Did anyone talk about the possiblity of having a stent placed in the artery instead? Way less invasive, less recovery time. Sorry you are going through this. Laurie

Kathie, holding you in my thoughts and  prayers for B9!

I went through this earlier in the year which brought me to the waiting room and kept me here:)

My results were good finally but I had a long wait as the spot was too small to biopsy, so waited two months to repeat!!!

Hope you have a similar result! :)

Just an update, I had my excisional biopsy yesterday. The surgeon said it was a lipoma, a fatty mass that are always benign. I'll see her again either Thursday or Tuesday and get the final lab results, but, I feel like if she was confident enough to share that information, I'm probably in the clear. What a relief. I was miserable during this wait.

Best wishes and good thoughts to candie and Kathie!

    Tricia, thanks.

Lottie, oh, so glad to hear good news. Yes, lipomas are always benign..my cousin had one in her hip last year. Woohoo for good news!!!!

Just came back from my pre-op tests. Just say a lil prayer ...I had a chest xray done and they always scare me...I was cigarette smoker until last year and with the bc and all..well, just another thing to be scared about.

hugs and prayers to you all

I had a gallbladder ultrasound today. I'm on tenterhooks (not to mention Ativan) because I'm afraid they are going to "find something" on my liver while looking for gallstones. (Gallbladder problems run in my family, and lately I can't eat a nice big meal of Thai green curry, my FAVORITE, without severe indigestion. Bleah. I just love green curry. I want it to love me back!)

Even though I'm 3 years out from my original dx, the fear never goes away. I'm glad I can post here with people who understand that for survivors there is extra fear with every scan, even though they are not looking for cancer. So here I sit and wait and hope it's just gallstones or nothing.

Thank you so much, Candie, and I hope your results today are good ones!

I got my blood tests back (doc ordered a complete panel) and so far all my liver values are normal. This is good, but I know I'm not out of the woods yet b/c I've heard of people with liver mets who have normal blood tests...SO...still waiting on that ultrasound!

    Prayers all around!
