ONG Kerry, what's going on with you! I feel so bad ! You're trying out hospital beds in each hospital! I hope for you that this last round of antibiotics will do the trick and that you'll be on the mend again. Still looking forward to meeting you and hopefully it'll be one day soon when you're up to it.

Have a great weekend everyone and healing vibes to all.

    Hi everyone,

Hope you're all doing well. Kerry, how are the new boobs doing? Are you getting used to them? And I hope all your other issues have cleared and you can enjoy the new you! Marie, any news on when your surgery will be? I might have missed the date in the previous pages. Hopefully you'll be able to have it done in May as planned? YoYo, how are the rads coming along? Are you finding it tough? Are you getting fatigued as can sometimes happen. Must be tough with a small child to go through all this, I admire you, your courage and strength..........

On my end nothing much is new. I have an app't with my ONC early June and that's when I tell him I stopped taking the Tamoxifen....that should be an interesting visit, NOT.

Anyone up for a cup of coffee or whatever somewhere? We still haven't met Kerry, might be nice to sit outside somewhere and have a chat........

    Terri:

Hope you are well. I had my surgery done last week (wednesday) and had my bandages removed yesterday.  I am happy with the size so that's great but unfortunatly they are not even.  The one with no cancer looks great but the other is higher because he had to do extensive pocket work underneath to hold it up.  He says it should fall. Also it is noticiable on top where the upper pole seems to be fuller  and I have a huge pinch on the side of my underarm where again he had to do extensive pocket work so the implant would not go towards my underarm. Needless to say I am quite dissapointed. I though this Dr. was very good. He says it should all release with time so I guess for now I wait and hope. It is going to be hard to wear clothe with uneven boobs especially in the summer !

Hope all is well with all of you guys :-))

Hi Terri - Finally, feeling better. It was a long recovery, but now I am ok, just left with lots of fatigue. I would love to meet, have that coffee...can we all set up an other date? Also, why did you stop Tamoxifen?

Marie- Your doc is Schwarz, right? Don't worry, trust him, he is really great. I also had extensive pocket work and by boobs "fell" and softened just like he said. The rad side is not as soft and is also a bit higher but this is all normal, especially since I had a cellulitis infection on that side. But they do change like crazy. my surgery was 6 weeks ago and they look very different. Give them time.

Marie: I glad everything went well with your surgery and that you're pleased with the size. I know you were concerned about your TE's being too large. Seems the implants always come out looking smaller than the TE's even if they have the same amount of CC's. The implant will fall so don't worry about that and the upper pole fullness is normal - that too will "fall" in time and you'll have a more natural look. I had major upper pole fullness and now have a nice slope. It takes about 3 weeks to see some difference and then in about 3 months they'll look even better. Mine are still changing and looking more natural each day. It's common to have little touch ups to do after this type of surgery. If things are still bothering you in 3 - 4 months time then you can have a revision to fix those issues but give it some time. You'll see, it does get better and your body needs tme to adjust.

Kerry: It's great that you're feeling better. You went through a rough period there for a while. The worst is behind you now and you can relax and enjoy the summer. We'll need to get some dates in when we're all free to meet for a coffee. I'm basically free most days except June 9, 10 and 11. Can you believe I have 3 Dr's app't all at the Jewish 3 days in a row! It wouldn't be bad if I lived in town but it's a pain coming in from St Lazare!  I stopped the Tamoxifen because I got the daylights scared out of me when I got that swelling in my neck 2x while I was on it. They still don't know what that was but I suspect it was some kind of clot. My bloodwork did show that I had many little clots in it so that was enough for me. My ONCOtype score was pretty low and Dr P told me that taking the Tamox would only increase my chances by 3% which brings me to  90% so that's good enough for me. I'm going the natural route and have made many changes to diet and added supplements which basically do the same thing as the Tamox without the  side effects. I'm hoping that's enough......... I haven't completely ruled out the Tamox but if I ever take it again I will only take 5mg tops because I read a study that showed that even 1mg will do the same thing as the recommended 20mg's without the dangerous side effects.

I'm looking forward to meeting you so maybe the others could chime in to when they would be available to meet?

    Hi Ladies,

    Wow, what news.

Kerry, hope you are doing well.

Marie, I hope things continue to improve.  Sometimes this PS stuff seems a little like fluke and voodoo.  I guess we have to have faith.

Terri, hope you are doing well too.  You have certainly had your share of weirdness. How worrisome with the Tamoxifen.

As you can tell I have not been around mych.  today is 18/31 rads.  So far so good.  No burning not too tired.  But it is challenging trying to find enough time in the day.  I also now have what looks like post chemo rheumatism.  Can you say OWWWWWW!  Oh well, I am hoping it is temporary.  Last day of rads is June 21.  Then I start Tamoxifen......

I would love to meet up but it would be better after June 21, because as I say, I have no time!

Take care and be well ladies!

Yo, Chemo rheumatism? Can chemo do that? Crap. Not what you needed! Can you take something for your bones to help relieve the pain? Can I suggest you go on the "Natural girls" forum and tell them your story and ask for any recommendations they may have for something natural that you can take? There are some very knowledgeable ladies on there....

OK, since I don't have kids I have no idea when school ends for the summer but maybe we can meet the week of the 21st so Yo can join us? I'm avail that week....

    Hello ladies,

I have not been on these boards for awhile and am glad to hear that everyone is doing well.

I would love to join you all for coffee and the only dates in June that I am not available is June 7th and June 23rd. Any other day is OK for me.

    Take Care

    Sylvia

My kids are done with school on the 22nd, how about everyone else ? and we are going to Maine on the 23rd so it would have to be before that for me !

YO: sorry to hear about the rheumatism, hopefully it passes quickly. Look into natural supplements as Terri suggested. Also look into Acupuncture, it has well know benefits for chemo symptoms. I have been doing it for the hot flashes and they are pretty much all gone. I am now a believer !!! It's worth a try.

Well it looks like the only time in June that everyone is available is btwn the 14th -18th (assuming Yo can find the time and Kerkle is free). After that Marie will be away. If these dates don't work then we'll have to postpone it to sometime in July. Does  this work for everyone or should we postpone?

Yup, summer is coming!  You can feel it with all the activity.

For me June 16 or 17 would be best but I will have to watch the time a little.  I have rads at 12:30, usually late though so about 1 or 1:30 woud be a good time.

    Take care all!

Ok, we still need to hear from Sylvia  but the 16th sounds like a good date. We could meet at 1:00 to give Marie a bit more time and Yo can join us when she's done with her rads around 1:30. Does that sound OK to everyone? I guess we can meet at the same place (Second Cup on Monkland) as last time or maybe closer to the JGH to be nearer to where Yo is having her rads?

AliceJean, Welcome to our thread. How great that you come to visit our  lovely city! Too bad you won't be able to meet with us for coffee. I can tell you that the last time we all got together, it made for some very interesting conversation. There was a girl sitting closeby throughout our chat and if she didn't run home and make an appointment for a mammogram, it'd be a miracle!  Second Cup will never be the same!
