mthomp2020, I feel the same way as you do about bras and camis, and the whole tightness/comfort issue.

Here's a crazy thought I just had: If the bottom of one of these camis were cut off just below where the "pockets" are, would it serve as a lightweight non-binding no-extra-layer alternative to a bra? Or would the front shift around too much? Hmmmmm......................

Hey all....I was at a breast cancer survivors' retreat over the weekend (WOW.....was it awesome!!) and while I was gone, my micro-beaded forms from TLC (the $40 apiece ones) arrived.....

I immediately stuck them in the pockets of the camis I had gotten from Target and it PERFECT!!!
I wore if in place of a bra and under a thin sleeveless, thin shirt.....very perfect.

Thank you so very much for the idea.  I am THRILLED beyond words.  They really didnt' ride up, although I felt *(alt times) that the band around my chest  was riding up, but when I would go to pull it down, I found it really wasn't.

SOOOO much more comfortable than a bra and/or my silicone forms.....

    I am sooooo grateful........

thank you, thank you, thank you.....

    blessings....

I can't wait to get my Micro Bead Forms from TLC, I just got the notice they have been shipped, and I only ordered them last night. Should have them by the end of the week.

I hope these are as comfortable as every one say's are.

Robin!!! so glad you got them and you like them!!! I just absolutely LOVE my beanie forms. They are so lightweight and comfy.

Hey Yorkie---I ordered two more sets too from TLC.....they do ship pretty fast. I usually pay the extra $7.50 I think for 2-3 day shipping. I'm always excited to get them in the mail. I'm trying their bra that looks like a cami on top, but doesn't come down over the tummy but has a nice pretty lacey neckline. I'll try them and let you all know how they work.

So, Lovemygarden---this might be an alternative to a cami cut in half.....lol.

The idea about sewing up a couple stitches in the middle sounds good. I might try that.

It's so good to have others going through the same experiences. Maybe between all of us trying this or that..........we'll find the perfect solution...........or INVENT the perfect solution.....get a patent on it and make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$............LOL

    Love and hugs ladies!!!

just so you know...I did NOT pay the extra for the quicker shipping.....I ordered it on Memorial Day....and they arrived on Saturday (just five days later).....got notice on Tuesday they had been shipped....I thought that was *really* quick for standard shipping!!

Has anyone bought the Cool Comfort cami from TLC?  http://www.tlcdirect.org/products/sku-8067_dept-15.html

Is there an elastic band at the bottom of the pocketed shelf bra? I want to avoid those. (the Target cami has one but its very very narrow and not tight)

Lovemygarden, you could try cutting the bottom off a cami and then tucking and sewing the fabric to the band, just tacking it down with a few stitches here and there along the band, and see it that works.  I don't know how the TLC camis are, but the tank top has a strip of elastic across the front only, so it isn't tight, it just helps keep the form in place.

I got my beanie forms today, and I just love them. They are the most comfortable I have found in 5 years. So, I'm going to order a few more, maybe a different size, so I can have several sizes. I bought a size 5, so I'm thinking maybe a size 6.

    Hey Coonie,

I looked on the Target website.  The item number didn't come up with anything, but I searched Gilligan & O'Malley and saw a bunch of items.  Is this cami in the maternity section?  Is it the crossover cami?  I really want to try this.

I've been wearing my Victoria's Secret cami but I need something in white and I would love something with a pocket.

    Thanks so much!

Ok, I bought a Target cami which was a little bit loose, and then I stuffed my fiberfill foobies into it.  The whole bra part fell forward, so I'm going to exchange it for a smaller size. Once I figure out what size really works, I'm gonna order some of the scoop neck ones from the website.  (Wonder why the stores are carrying only the v-necks?)

I'm also looking at the microbead forms at TLCDirect.  Thank you, Coonie, for starting this thread, and thanks to the rest of you ladies for your input!  I don't like the bras or forms that I have, so I'm always on the lookout for something better.

I do have a sports bra that sounds like the one faithandfifty mentioned, and I like it pretty well.  It has slightly molded cups into which I may or may not have been known to stuff a pair of trouser socks. Wink

Sunshine, it's the crossover cami that has the V-neck and the "true" pockets. I believe the scoopneck one is the one with a shelf bra and wider elastic. There were no pockets in the shelf bra in the scoopneck cami that my local Target has. I have the crossover cami in white.

Yorkie, I don't know what size cami you use but I very much doubt that a size 6 microbead form would fit through the pocket opening of a size Medium crossover cami. I have the Medium and a size 5 form just barely makes it through. IMHO an size 6 form would need a size Large cami pocket opening, assuming the pocket openings in the Large would be wider (or the size Medium's pocket opening cut to make it wider, maybe?.

mthomp, I did try the TLC tank top a couple months ago but returned it because I found it too hot (not enough cotton content) for an underlayer, and I also 'felt' the elastic underband too much. I'm going to see if their Coolmax cami feels lighter and how the inside front is made. I've spent SOO much on return postage for stuff the past 3 months, what's one more???! Money mouth

That's always the drawback to ordering on-line, isn't it?  A few months ago I took a big chance and ordered two bras from the UK.  Lo and behold, they're the most comfortable bras I've found yet!  Good thing, as there was no way I was going to attempt to return those suckers!  They run a little small in the band dept., but extenders did a good job of taking care of that.

Yorkie!!! Aren't they the MOST comfortable things in the world??? I just love mine too. I haven't gotten my other order in yet. I'm hoping it comes by tomorrow. I'm anxious to get them.

Sunshine--I found my camis in the regular lingerie section. They were mixed in with some others though. There were even some camis with underwire.....since I don't NEED underwire I definitely don't even consider buying them!! Those days are O.V.E.R............LOL

lovemygarden's right about them though. And I haven't been able to find the scoop neck, only the v-neck is in the store. I even got a fuschia colored one this week. It's really pretty.

Artemis--I think if you get the bead forms, you'll find they're easier to get inside the pockets on the Target camis. They're squishy and not as "firm" feeling. I guess squishy like a real breast maybe?? but no cancerous tumors........LOL. I just keep stuffing and stuffing until they're inside the pocket, then I can rearrange it the way I want it.

mthomp--I know EXACTLY how you feel about returning stuff. I've tried soooooo many things that just did not work. I live in a pretty small town that has nothing to offer in the way of prosthetics, so I'm always looking for boobs.......hehe.

If anyone comes up with more ideas, bring 'em on. I'm always willing to try anything that'll work.

    Hugs to all!!!

Thanks lovemygarden, I will just stay with the size 5 then. I bought two sizes of the V Cami's size M and L. Your right the pockets are just enough for the Size 5.

    Hi Sistahs!!

Well, I did a little creative "tacking" to my Target camisole today. I just sewed up the gap in the middle and put a little white button to stabilize it. It turned out great!!! Also, I just got in some size 9 forms and they fit really well in an XL.....gives you a little more vavavavoooooom...........lololKiss

The only ones I can find are the v-neck, but with a little tacking in the middle, it's working out perfectly for me. Sooooo comfortable and I love my beanie forms. I was a little worried about laundry care for them, but it just says to hand wash and air dry. They're very light-weight, so it shouldn't take too long to dry.

Hope you ladies have a great weekend!!!

    Hugs to ya all!!!

Oh good Sunshine!!!!!! If they seem to be overloaded, just try taking the middle with some thread. I'm anxious to hear how they worked for you.  The opening to the inside of the cup is small, but I'm able to get my hand in and move the forms around the way I want them. The material is stretchy, so it gives you space to work with it a bit. good luck!

    I have a new brainstorm.

I'll take pictures, if I can get it together this weekend.

I think that it will work and suit me.

If so. I may have to patent it. LOL.

Well, I ordered my second pair of size 2 microbead forms from tlc today.  I really do like them, because they are lightweight, comfortable, and they are the size I wanted all along.  One reason I didn't like wearing the other forms was the weight, and the other was that all of them had more projection than I wanted.  I just didn't want to be concave.  These little forms make me about the size I was in high school (when I thought I was flat!), and I don't feel self-conscious about sprouting big boobs after being flat for most of the last 4 years.  I am using the spaghetti-strap "sports" bras, which have a lining, which I cut a slit in along each side, and slide the forms in.  They stay pretty well in place, and I am so thankful for those who recommended the microbead forms.  I just want to have two pairs, so I will have time for the other pair to dry.  I did buy one (the only small black) cami at Target the other day, and it works, but I like the bras that keep things very close to my chest best.  I like to have something touching it all the time, as that has been more comfortable for me since the bilat.   Thanks again to all of you.

I too am VERY happy with my beanie boob. I found the size chart to be very accurate, but because I am matching my smaller implant on my other side I had to go smaller.  Now to just reduce my tummy and I will be happy(er)!

Just want to make sure I'm thinking of the same forms you're all talking about -- on TLC, they're called Microbead Lightweight Breast Forms, right? And here's a link to a picture of them on the manufacturer's (Silique's) website: http://www.siliquebreastforms.com/. Those are the ones you mean, right?

Like Dawn, I have them in a size 2. They're wonderfully light and so much softer than the foam forms. My only problem with them is that in some bras and camis, the edges (where the back and front fabrics are sewn together) aren't smooth and show through. Has anyone else had this problem? I got these forms very early on (before TLC carried them), so maybe they've resolved that issue. Any feedback would be appreciated. And if anyone's brave enough to post photos, that would be fabulous!

I haven't recommended these forms yet on BreastFree.org, but I'm thinking I probably should, since I base my recommendations on feedback from women about forms they like. These definitely seem to fit in that category! If anyone has tried washing the forms, I'd be interested in hearing how that goes. It seems that if these were everyday forms, it would be a good idea to have a backup pair (or single, if you're a unilateral), in case they take a while to dry.

I'm going to order the Micro-Bead forms from TLC and am trying to decide what size.  If anyone has these in size 5 or 6, I'd love to know the width at the widest point.

    Thanks!

Sher, I have a size 5 and it's 6" across at the absolute widest point; that's counting the seam allowance that Erica mentioned, and with the form placed flat side down on a hard surface. Keep in mind that they are so malleable that unless you need them to be wider than 6", you do have "wiggle room" (literally!) when it comes to bra/cami pockets.

Erica, I bought mine before TLC carried them also, and mine have the external seam like yours, but I haven't had any show-through issues. Haven't received the ones I just ordered from TLC yet.

By the way, I asked Silique if it's okay to just leave these forms in a bra or cami (unlike anything with silicone which needs to be stored in a shaped thingy whenever not worn); they said it should be fine. Works perfect for me because I am definitely a "grab-and-go dresser"; so if I decide the cami feels too hot under a given top, I can just grab the bra instead without having to remove the foobs from one and put them into the other!

    Barbara,

Yes, these are the same TLC microbead forms.  Since I am using my "sports bras" as pocketed, I don't have a problem with the edges showing.  I'm working on getting some pics that show the difference in the way I look between these, flat, and the Silque Comfort-Lite size 4.  I may be the only woman on the face of the earth who wants to be this small, but I'd rather be flat than have too much projection.

On a humorous note, when the package arrived in the mail (two size 2 forms and an LE bracelet), it came through the 1" mail slot in the door without a problem! I thought they couldn't possibly be big enough to do any good, but they are just what I wanted.  I may make a trip to the Breast Center where I was told 4 years ago in no uncertain terms that anything smaller than a 5 in the silicone triangle would be much too small, and I should get a 6.  I got the 5s and hardly wore them.  I've been self-conscious in every other form I've had, but these just feel like me.

I do plan to wear these all the time, so having two pairs is essential to keep them clean! May even get another pair or two, as time goes by.

    Hey yall

I took a few pics so everyone could get an idea how the beanie boobs look......I took a couple with them inside the camisoles too. Hope you're able to get the idea.

This is the cami in black. I just put a pin in the "v" to pull the cups together more. Yesterday I just tacked the "v" with some thread and put a button in the middle. I had a couple of pins and just tried this. It seems to work out pretty well.

This is the other color I got.....with another pin

Hey Sher---yeppers....that's a size 9 in an XL cami. The beanies just squish up so much so I guess they don't look that big. To be honest, I can't really tell the difference between the L and XL camis, or the size 8 and 9 beanies.
