Excited to find cheap Camisoles at Target

Hi Sistahs!!!  I just had to share what I found today at Target ... the most comfortable camisoles for $12.99.  The name is Gilligan & O'Malley (item # 253715) cotton stretch cami with removable pads!! There are pockets to insert forms.  I found them in black, white and beige. They come in S, M, L, XL, 2XL. They're very soft and comfy. I always hated bras (even before mastectomy) and haven't liked any of the mastectomy bras that I've tried. I've just always gone with the camisoles because they're loose and not binding. However, the one's I've tried from other sites are pretty expensive, so I thought $12.99 was a great price!

Just thought I would pass this along. Nothing is as natural looking as "real" but if it's comfy, and looks ALMOST real then I'm all for itWink

Artemis---LOLOL....Hope you were able to make it to Target. I forgot to mention that I've been using the micro-bead lightweight breast forms from www.tlcdirect.org. It might be more difficult to get some other type forms in the pocket, but these micro-beads kinda move where you want them to......soft and smooshy.

Coonie, Are these available at Target.com? I plugged in that item number, but they didn't come up. Wonder how to tell which one it is online?

Earlier this winter I found a Danskin running top at Walmart for $7.00. Seriously!! They have kind of a 'racer' back, but for $7.00 and a quality product from Danskin -- I can't argue.

It has a shelf bra built in.

I just insert my lovely "fluffies" and off I go.

They had them in LOTS of colors.

I now have them in bright blue, green, white, black, dark peach and even a striped one. I have worn these out for a walk at our metro park (in public) and also worn them as a layer below a blouse or jacket.

Thanks for the Target head's up, Coonie. We have one less than a mile away, I'll go check these out. I don't have anything in the beige family yet. This could be a lovely addition.

Faith---what kind of flufflies do you use?

Hi Nagem--I bought mine from the store. It looks like if you entered the item # it would come up.hmmmm they have spaghetti straps and a removable pad. The pocket has a slit big enough to slip your own form in. I'll have to check online to see if they sell them that way, and I'll let you know.

Coonie - are these camis scoop neck or v-neck?  I saw a surplice/v-neck style with pockets, but not a scoop neck.  Maybe they've added the scoop neck since I last looked.

Are you a bi-lat or uni?  I'm a uni, and it can make it a bit hard sometimes to find something that works when you still have one breast, since the form can pull the top down on that side.  Sounds like the micro-bead form might be just the ticket for me.  Foam forms can be hard to match, but the micro-beads sound like they would tend to drape more naturally.  Plus being able to swim in them would be a big plus.

Mthomp--The ones I found in the store are v-neck. I didn't see the scoop neck.  I noticed the Target online only has the scoop neck.  I am bi-lat, so it's pretty easy to look the same on both sides. But I am LOVING the micro-bead forms. I have only ordered one set so far, but I'd like to get another. They're pretty costly at $40 each, but if it wears good and for a long time, I guess $40 ain't too bad to pay for a boob.......LOL. I've found the other forms are just so stiff...with no give at all. Like if I sit down, they still want to stand up and out. The micro-beads just smoosh in with my chest.

Also, some of the camis in Target had the built-in underwire. I wore underwire bras for so many years and hated them. I hope I never have to put another one on. If I was smaller built, I think I could wear these Target camis with the little pads and maybe just add a little stuffing to fill them out more.

Anyway....good luck. I'm always looking for something better.

Nagem---I couldn't find the one's I bought online either. But it does look like they have the scoop neck online. And they seem to come in alot of different colors.

Coonie, I had been on another thread where you had talked about these camis at Target....I finally found them....v-necked.  I put my own Aemona forms in them and it works pretty well.  I would have preferred a round neck though.

But I am interested in your $40 foobies....microbeads????  This will probably sound kind of stupid, but they dont' make any noise, do they?  Right now, I have silicone forms....$290 each (thankfully insurance paid 80%).....but I would like another option, esp. this summer.

I will take a look at the tlc website...I hope it's easy to tell about the sizes.  I wory about ordering things like that without seeing/feeling/tryin gon in person....

Speaking of Target, I found a yoga/exercise/running/.biking top that is made of swimsuit material that I am going to use for a swimsuit top.  It goes with my bottoms (I always wore tankinis), and these allow me to go flat (horizontal stripes)....I think these will work out well, at least I HOPE they will, and I hope I'm brave enough to go out in public in them....

I think the micro-bead forms are actually manufactured by Silique and sold through TLC.  TLC also carries their comfort-lite form which has silicone and a layer of the microbeads.  Love that form!  Very lightweight and doesn't make you sweat.

Can anyone tell me how the tlc microbead forms run or compare to other forms in size?

About the Target Gilligan & O'Malley camis - I also looked online but didn't notice any that said there was a 'removeable pad'.   I did find a V-neck called Crossover Cami.......is that the one?

I'm looking at the TLC website and the microbead forms...Did you just order your former bra size form?  Did it work for you?  I'm wondering, as Sher.....if you have had another type/brand of form?  Did the sizes compare? I have Amoena Naturas size 5 - I wear them maybe once a week.  Just wondering if the size 5 of the microbeads would work, too.

I did try putting my silicone forms in the cami today....it was a little tough getting them in the slots, PLUS they were almost too heavy to fit well.  I found, too, that I had purchased a size medium cami - which is what I wore pre-BMX.  I think I'm going to exchange it for a small, and see if it hugs my body better.  But I did LOVE not wearing a bra, but still having curves....

Hi Robin....I haven't noticed the micro-beads making noise. As far as the size goes, I did order my bra size and they "might" be a little smaller than the regular forms...just because they're more squishy and more moveable:) The micro-bead forms are alot easier to get in the slot than the other forms I have.

Sher--I'm not sure if the one that says cross-over cami is the right one. The ones I bought at the store says (on a tag) removeable pad......and it's just a real thin little pad I guess to give the cup some form. I left the pads in and just squished my micro-bead forms in behind it. I got the v-neck, but I'd like to try the scoop neck too......I just couldn't find it in the store. I'll keep looking.

Oh how I wish there was the PERFECT thing for us no-boobers.......$40 each for the micro-bead forms aren't really that bad if they'll last awhile.

If anybody has come up with another solution, I'd love to hear more options.

    Hugs to ya all!!

Hey, Coonie...thanks for the info.  I just checked the # on cami I bought at Target and it's the same one you listed. I think I might use my leftover Christmas money and buy those micro-bead forms....(how exciting!!...sarcasm..) just to have another kind.  My Aomenas sometimes just rub and cause me to have more swelling.  If these are lighter weight AND I can wear them in water, that would be nice.  At *just* $80 for a set (vs. $600 a set), I wouldn't mind trying them.

I need to try to make the swimming ones out of the bath poofs that someone shows how to make on here, too.  I have the poofs - just haven't taken the time to go through the process yet.

     thanks again....blessings...robin

Well, Coonie....I just went to TLC's website and ordered the microbead forms.....I'll let you know what I think....I DO think that since they're lighter weight (or at least I *think* they should be )than my silicone forms, they'll work better in the cami.....my silicone forms really weighed down the top of the cami, and if it hadn't been for the top/blouse I wore on top of it, it wouldn't have worked at all.....

I think it will be good to have a pair and a spare pair.....guess I'm in this for the long haul, anyway...and being as I'm just about to turn a very young 51 in a few days, the more options I have, the better off I'll be....

Oh, and I DID find some great "flat" tops this weekend at Kohl's....they work perfectly for going flat, IF anyone does that.  Sometimes I DO go flat and I'm ok with that, too.  I'm having to rebuild my wardrobe just a bit, because I don't want to have to wear bras AND forms all the time all summer long, so I want some appropriate flat options, too...

Good deal Robin! I hope it works for you. I wish we had a Kohl's here. I love going flat, but being short and "dumpy" going flat makes me look like a little pot-bellied old man.........LOL. The micro-bead forms have the same feel as the little beanie babies.....if you remember those?

    Hugs!!

I checked out the v-necked camis at Target today -- they are cute! For me, unfortunately, the vee style makes them a little low-cut (I'm thin and have a bit of a divot between two ribs on my radiated side -- I prefer to cover that area), but for some of you, they might work really well. The pockets are perfect to insert lightweight forms!

I exchanged my medium cami (from Target) for the small and it works better, BUT my scars show...so it's definitely a "wear-under-another-shirt" type of thing...for me, it's a bra alternative.  Haven't put my silicone forms in yet, though.

Found another "flat" shirt at T.J. Maxx tonight.....as long as I don't have to spend over $9.99 a shirt, I'm happy :)

Hey ya'll.......so glad some of you have come up with some solutions.

Yeah....the camis at Target with the v-neck are pretty low. I just actually wear them in the place of a bar. I hate bras, and these are just much more comfortable. Nothing binding anywhere.

Terri-they do have the scoop neck too with removable pads. I didn't look really close the other day in the store, but I'd ike to have a scoop neck too.

Activern--I sure hope you're able to find something in the Target store. Maybe even try it on and see how it fits before you buy it. I noticed some hanging on the same rack even had underwire....uugghhhh me do not like underwire!! Those days are long gone for me....lolol

Robin----I don't have a TJMAX here, but I'll be in California in a couple weeks, so maybe I can find some cute thing. Going flat is actually my preference, but I just don't want to get the "looks" you know?? Anyway.....still waiting for the miracle to happen for boobless women!!

    Hugs ladies!!!

Yep found them at my Target!!! It took some wandering around finally found them with the bras. I have only had a LMX but now I am so lopsided with the TE I also bought some silicone "lifts" they fit in the pouch but they slide around- I finally have a use for some doublesided "fashion tape"!

My plan is to use this as a bra to even out the sides and wear a shirt overtop. Maybe now I can stop hiding my good boob under my long headscarf.Sealed

Can anyone tell me if these microbead forms have enough weight so they won't slide up for a double masectomy? Light weight forms before usually ride up but in this Texas heat light weight one sure sounds good!

I found these same camis in white about a month or so ago and ordered 6 of them online to make sure I'd have a "stash" in case they sold out or got discontinued! They are perfect for the microbead forms (and I am a bilateral). I have the Silique 1st Choice, bought from Hidden Beauty Plus at $60 each in specific sizes; I'll be irked if the TLC one is $20 less for the same thing!

I bought my microbeads in 2 sizes, a 4 and also a 5 so that I can customize my foob-age to whatever top I choose to wear (although I am most comfortable going flat, it's great to have multiple options!). I find that the pocket opening in the Size medium Target cami easily takes a size 4 microbead form; the size 5 just makes it through also, but I doubt a 6 would fit into it.

They don't slide up at all, btw.

btw, I hadn't seen the camis in Beige online at all; do they have them (the crossover one) in beige in the stores? Online only offers white, black, and (ugh) fuchsia....

Edited to add: I just compared prices for the Silique Comfort-Lite at TLC, TrueKare, and Hidden Beauty Plus; TLC is the most expensive, at $159 each. Hidden Beauty charges $112 each. TrueKare is $110 each or $212 if you order two.

I'm going to email Silique and ask them if the microbead form that TLC is selling for $40 is their product also.

Well I just got my bead-foobs and I am amazed at how light weight they are, they weigh nothing!  I was trying to fit one over my reconstruction side to even out with my non reconstructed side and ordered several sizes. In the end, I decided to leave the reconstructed side alone and go with a size 7 on my non reconstructed side (I "was" a 42D once upon a time).  What I am saying is that because I had a reconstruction on my right, which looks like a demented hamburger bun, and decided not to add anything on top of it, even though the chart said I should be a 9, I am wearing a 7 beanie boob.  Now, about the sport bras I got at target. They have thin bra-like straps, not thick regular sport bra type straps, and they do not have pockets!  BUT they are very comfortable and I just tucked my beanie boob in and it seems secure.  Comfort was important as I am still a bit tender from radiation, my spandex camis were too hot and These are pretty enough that if they peek out of my shirt it would be OK, and they are not clingy, I had a hard time wearing t-shirts over my spandex camis cause they clung to my cami top and it looked weird.  The sports bras code is Champion Duo dry seamless 214 05 0376 - the last 4 digits indicate the color; I got fuscia, dusty blue white and gray. These do not have clips you pull them over your head.  You can always have foob holder cups put in if you need to but these foobs are so light I don't think it is necessary.  This is just temporary till I figure out what I want to do reconstruction wise; I am trying to clear up the cellulitis first.  ; ) Hope this helps someone somewhere. And thank you all for you help! too.

I love the cami's from Target. I bought several of them. For those that think the V-neck is too low, you can put in a few stitches in the middle and it works really well.

I'm fixing to order the Bead Foobs that several of you have discussed and I'm hoping they will be really comfortable. In the 5 years since my sugeries I still have yet to find any thing I am comfortable with.

I got a reply from Silique; the microbead forms that TLC is selling are indeed the Silique 1st Choice ones that the other retailer is selling for $20 more apiece. So TLC has the lowest price on the 1st Choice foobs but the highest price on the Comfort-Lite. Illogical, as Mr Spock would say! Laughing

I've got one of the Silique microbead forms coming to me from TLC.  Being a uni-boober, I have to try to match up, and it can be kind of hard to do this with the foam forms, so I'm really hoping it works well for me.  I have the Amoena 126, but the size I have is smaller then my remaining boob, and the next size up is too big.  Really a big jump between the sizes.  I have the Silique Comfort-lite form in a size 5, and I ordered one size up on the bead form.  I'll let everyone know how it works out!

I have one pocketed tank top from TLC.  I do like how they make it.  There is a band/shelf across the front, but it doesn't go all the way around the tank, so it's not tight around the rib cage, which is what I prefer.  It gives good coverage, and would work really well with the form.  The v-neck tops don't work for me since I still have one breast, and the difference is obvious if the V is too deep.  I use the tanks/camisoles to wear under lower cut tops and blouses.  Because of the heat, I really don't like wearing the extra layer with a top, so even though I don't really like bras, it's still better then getting really hot.
