Oh, rain...
85 degrees on the back patio today. Who knows what the temp is out in the open. My green house was over 99 earlier.
-
I did pretty good this weekend, but then this AM I ate a banana pancake with syrup. I feel so guilty.
-
I'm here to say we need to learn to accept our eating without guilt.
Seriously, I gotta think that's an enormous part of living well.
No guilt.
No calling our choices 'sin.'
We make choices to eat & if we're going to move toward health & wellness then we must choose to do a parallel amount of exercise to balance those choices.
I think that we have to figure out how to sustain our "better" choices, yet when we choose to have something extra-yummy, we must allow ourselves the complete & total adoration & appreciation of our choice. If we choose very consciously, what we are going to have from the yummy column, then I think that we can savor that choice for what it is..... and do away with the guilt.
At least this is the way I'm going to approach these next several weeks of summer.
******I had the reality check that it's taken me 5 months to lose 10 pounds. I would like to lose another 4 by the Fourth of July (as my shoot for the moon goal) but certainly at my current rate of loss, it is totally realistic to think I can lose those pounds by Labor Day. So there you have it.
In the summer ahead I will no doubt have an occasional ice cream cone or cookie, but I anticipate that I will also be walking miles and miles, and I aspire to returning to my summer cycling (depending on how my arms fare over the next couple of weeks.)
In any case, here's to making all sorts of great choices between now and Fri!!!!!
We can do this.
Balance.
Move.
Reward your good choices without calories.

Yahoo News had a story this weekend that 10 minutes of brisk exercise causes metabolic changes that were measurable in the body a hour later. I'm passing this along to all the lunchtime and break time walkers, cause that's good news that you will be burning more calories in the hour following your walk even if you have to go back to sitting at a desk East Less. Move more.
-
I checked out our normal walk course, and at break we walk over a half a mile in ten minutes. People are beginning to wonder about me because I am usually cold, and lately when I return from break, the office seems so stuffy and warm.
Sunday and yesterday we dug in our yard, and I worked for hours of strenuous labor...but then went inside and ate dip and chips for lunch. Not a good Choice. Today a Subway sandwich, less than 400 calories. Will need my 3:00 walk anyway.
-
I am on day two of my new WOE (Way of Eating)...because the plan allow's so many options and has great receipts to try, I am not feeling deprived at all...and I still get to enjoy yummy snacks without guilt
-
Sounds good, O2B.
-
Thanks for the information Elimar - that makes me more determined to do the 10 minute walk with my friend at work at least twice a day.
-
I going to try to add 10 minutes during the day to my 1/2 hour to 45 minutes at night. Thanks for the tip.
-
I need to add a half hour to 45 minutes a night to my two ten minute a day walks. I walked by myself today, which makes me not walk as far, but I paced out 1000 steps and my strides are 28 inches average. I figure I walked close to a 1/4 mile each time. It also wakes me up.
Still feeling frustrated that I don't think I am losing this week either. I had a salad for lunch, water with lemon. I may have to cut out my coffee in the AM, since I like cream with a little coffee.

Today is Thursday.
Eat like a bird.
Eat like a bird.
Fly like a bird.
Eat like a bird.
Eat like a bird.
Flap about like a bird.
Eat like a bird.
Eat like a bird.
Move like a bird.

Can I add...weigh in like a bird?

Happy dancin here in the school parking lot; LAST day of school for me!!!!!!!
Drumroll; 142 point ZERO!!!!!
Seiously. Honestly. Truly.
This is such a moral victory and a morale boost as well!!!
Best to all the birdies!!! -
No change here.
Congrats to You, Faith. I might have to pick up that book you are using!

I'm back up a pound this week. Kind of discouraged, I need to get back in the habit of keeping up my food log so I can find out what's going on and avoid the upward weight movement. Between Femara and the fact that I'll be 50 next week it will be very hard to take weight off so as Barney Fife would say "Nip it in the BUD" (I love that show).
-
Same old weight.
oh well it's my own fault. I went out last night and had a big salad but washed it down with two Michelob lights. It was Thirsty Thursday and I had had an exhausting day.
I will loss weight next week!!!
-
I lost some but not by choice. Since I'm back my appetite is gone.
I'm really getting nervous now about loosing weight not by choice.
I hope nothing else is going on with me and the weight loss is just a weight loss and nothing else. Sorry for venting, I'm just scared.
156.6.

149.6 I am still not back into exercising because of surgical complications. I am trying to watch what I am putting in my mouth though
-
Sorry you are worried, Seyla. I wish I could lose weight without trying. I just seem to want to graze when I am home.
-
No loss for me. I guess I had too much fun at my DD's....
-
No loss here (gained a pound in fact and then had dinner with friends tonight!!!) - and it's a holdiay weekend here!! *shakes head in despair*
-
I am gonna get my Wii back out....and use it!
-
Maybe it was around before bt i just heard it on the evening news.
Loosing weight by eating baby food.
E-LAB=Eating like a baby.
-
I weighed in at my weight loss center this morning and I'm down another 1 1/2 lb (woo hoo). I was not really expecting any (since I was on vacation and cheated), but I have been good the last 4 days. So put me down for 148.5 lbs!!
I also lost another 9 inches this past month... that makes a total of 38 inches I've lost altogether.
Sheila ... eat like a baby is a good one! But I don't think I want to eat baby food. The only good things they have are banana's and the dessert's and I'm sure those would be a little fattening. LOL!

Congrats Renee!
-
Renee - that is awesome!
-
Suzwes and Valjean - thanks so much for the congrats. I still have a mighty long way to go and the weight loss and inches seem to be slowing down. I am trying to stay positive. One thing I have done along the way is learned not to totally deprive myself. I started out doing that, but I have learned to cheat a "little" and then I get right back on the wagon. If I want something sweet usually it's an apple, once in a while I'll do a banana (which is my fav and a big NO NO). Also, I sometimes will eat a small pack of the Wal Mart brand gummy treats I buy for my granddaughter. LOL!! I like them. It's the little things in life that count. Otherwise I do stick to my diet. I might lose it faster if I did eat like a bird... hahaha!!! Still hoping I make it to my 120-130 lb wt loss goal by Aug. 25th. Originally it was 120 but I have upped it to 130 just in case. It's gonna be hard to lose 20 lbs in 12 weeks because I'm only losing about 1.2 - 1.5 lbs a week.

Hello All, been working a lot lately at differnt sites so in the car a lot have to make better choices, I am not doing well between the extra work load and my body adjusting to the thyroid meds it is tough and I tend to make poor choices trying to perk me up. I will try to get back on course, with the garden going I have lots of fresh veggies and fruit, just have to eat them wisely. Good news is I am getting ecercise walking form one end of the pl;ants to teh other and walked 2 miles today with DH, too wet to work in the yard or garden!!
Hope all had a good healthy weekend.
-
Elimar I like your mantra eat less move more, sounds simple so WHY IS IT SO HARD!!
-
Did okay this weekend. I've gone down a size in shirts so that's a good thing. Got chased by a dog last week while walking, so I've been hesitant to go back out. I got some spray and plan on going back out this week. I just don't like having to carry around a spray bottle when I'm walking.
