Cancer runs in family

Good Morning,

I finally was able to get information on if any relatives had cancer. Almost all of my fathers relatives (mom, dad, sisters and brothers ) died from colon cancer. Is there any link between breast and colon cancer? I had IDC. I just need to know how much I should worry about it in the genes.

    I remember reading somewhere that if you have breast cancer you are at an increased risk of colon cancer.  I can't remember if this applies to people that are BRCA 1/2 or everyone diagnosed with breast ca.  I think if colon cancer runs in your family you should be screened per your doctors recommendations.
