Baby it's cold outside

I was kidding about changing the title of the thread--it amused me at the change the change in seasons has brought about and trying to make a cute comment about it.  

Congratulations Mary, so glad the nipples are perfect!  We continue to be warm and sunny here in Michigan.  I love it. 

I was in bed all day yesterday - Went with friends to a Sex and The City 2 fundraiser on Wednesday evening - we had a limo and went to various restaurants that were hosting parties for the premier of SATC2.  Got to the movie theater for the midnight showing and on my way up to our seats I fell and hit my head and cheek on a metal divider rail.  I'm a mess - bruised and swollen cheek and now a black eye and a large lump on my noggin - same side as the breast cancer.  The poor right side of my body - it's in bad shape.  Oh well, I had a grand time as did everyone else.

Oh Suzette, I'm so sorry that had to spoil your good time.  I envisioned the way you were describing the evening until I got to the falling part.  I agree with Eph 3-12  Holy Crap. 

 Still hot here.  Some rain finally, but no much.  I have my whole family coming tomorrow for a wonderful day together.  Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Thanks everyone.  I finally feel better today, swelling is down, face still a mess but makeup covers it fairly well along with sunglasses.  Our group raised $500 for relay for life so that was the best part.  It was a fun evening though and I'd do it again for sure.  I'm sure I'll need to see the movie again as I missed a couple of parts.

We're having a beautiful Memorial weekend.  It's been in the low to mid 80s with relatively low humidity and sunshine.  Expecting rain tomorrow but our typical Memorial weekend involves 50s and 60s usually - cold and blustery more often than not.

I love the fish.  They're so pretty.  Frankly I think Crème brûlée and dessert wine are totally worth the extra calories.  We're at 81 degrees at 11:20 am.  I love it.

Meece--what kind of fish are they?  The bigger one is striking! 

starting to cloud up here after yesterday & just a while ago of high 70s! Hope it doesn't rain. We have 1 more soccer game today!

It rained approximately 3 inches this afternoon.  I'm so glad it didn't rain yesterday.

I had some clouds yesterday but mostly sunny with a nice breeze.  Got most of the garden weeded and some herbs seedlings planted.  I've now got chives, red basil, cinnamon sage, regular sage to go with the thyme and greek oregano that came back up from last summer.  I'm going to get some tomatos, green pepper and cucumber, too.  Today is shaping up to be another beautiful day, sunny and quite breezy, bit cooler than yesterday, but with a bit of haze from the smoke from the Canadian wildfires.  Got fine ash all over everything in addition to the pollen that is everywhere.  Gotta love springtime in Maine! 

82 at 12 noon - but, the sun just went away and the clouds are rolling in.  We're supposed to have rain this afternoon which we actually need.  The grass is looking a bit brown.  There were wild fires in northern Michigan a week ago but not close enough for us to experience ash from them. 

I have to tell about the deer/dog/human incident last night.  I let my 20 pound dog out last night at around 9:45.  Just light enough to see where she was going - she spotted a deer and a fawn and took off after it.  The mama deer went berserk and started chasing my dog and my dog started yelping, then the deer was headed for the dog and me so I started running for my life to the house. Then the deer figured her baby was safe so she started heading away then my lovely STUPID dog started chasing her again!!!  The deer whipped around and charged the dog and by then my husband was outside and the deer charged right to our porch snorting and P.O'd at all of us.  The dog made it in the house, my hubby snorted back at the deer and finally she left.  It was scarey and hilarious at the same time - we've never been that close to a live deer!!!

Beautiful day today, sunshine all day and 83 degrees.  Too bad I had to be in my office most of the day - and then the social worker at the Cancer Center (I'm not sleeping and am way too anxious so she's helping me). (edited for poor typing!) 

Ha, ha - I figured she would see my horribly bruised face and either send the police to my DH (who wouldn't hurt a flea, let alone me) or send me for alcohol rehab (I did have more drinks than I should have the night of the fall - I had four).  She was so sweet, she said she's seen my DH and he loves me so much (and that's after 31 years of marriage) and also she said I deserve a fun night out like that.  She made me feel less guilty about my fall.

My I do go on don't I!!

Suzette, I'm glad you found a good social worker to help you out.  I used a friend here at the VA who is a psychiatrist.  He was an intern with me years ago.  He really helped me out during some tough times.  Hope you are sleeping better.  I take a benadryl every night to help me sleep and with my allergies.

Meece, I'm intrigued with your fish.  Making me want to investigate doing this. 

It is still hot, but not toooo hot.  No rain since Sunday.  We bought a rain barrell (55 gallons) to hook up to my gutters.  I find rain water makes my plants grow so much better.

 Short little story. My 27 year old son is 8 1/2 months clean and sober.  He lives at the 1/2 way house near us.  He's taken up gardening. He bought some seeds and planted them.  One of his plants is moon flowers.  He called me last night like an excited dad to tell me the bud to the flower is just about to open.  He's nurtured these babies all through the cycle. No better way to learn about patience.  Have a wonderful hump day as Meece said.

They are calling for rain all week long. Yesterday there were 3 or 4 thunderstorms that missed us.

Meece, I would post my hubby's fish pictures from the weekend but your koi put the 6 blue gills he caught to shame.
