Hair

I started shedding about 12 days after #1, I buzzed it just before #2 (I was on 3 week cycle)

So, yeah, you should start losing it about now. 

For me, the anticipation was worse than the actuality of it.

Yeah - I gotta agree.  The anticipation was worse.  Mine also shed for about a week (I was on Taxol) and I couldn't believe the relief when we finally shaved it.  I think it was because I kept wondering if I was really going to lose all of it or maybe a miracle would happen and it would only thin.  It was so nice to get it shaved, put on the wig and move forward!

I lost mine just after my second tx..I started my period and then within an hour I had clumps coming out.  I was walking alone and just started pulling the tuffs of hair out.  I had told my kids that it would happen and my oldest (8 at the time) looked at me when he saw me and was like "your hair is falling out!" I think it made him feel very uncomfortable because he saw the physical toll the chemo was taking on my body and it made it that much more real for him.

Once I had known about the chemo, I shaved my hair and donated it to "Locks of Love"..I felt more in control of the situation and I think I would have freaked if I had my long hair being found everywhere.  I hated doing what I did, but it makes me feel better that my hair went to a child who needs it.  I am very proud of the card they sent me.

mine came out about 3 weeks after starting chemo.  But dont worry- although i think i was an ugly bald woman   my hair grew back so much prettier than it was!  I absolutely loved it!  It grew back darker and curlier.  It was like when i was a little girl    And it grew back fast!  It fell out around thanksgiving and i had hair down to my chin by the following june.
