Baby it's cold outside

We must on the same weather curve!
-
I think you get your weather a bit earlier, and definitely more rain, but yes, we get the same curve.
-
It has been down right cold today. I actually have my heater on in the office and wearing my extra shirt. At least the cold can prohibit any of the thunder storms we have had since Friday.
Sheila
-
oh no - this is a strange time of year for you to have cold weather isn't it Sheila?
We're cold today and rainy and cloudy, our current temp at 2pm is 57 however, word on the street is we'll be in the 80s by next week - with humidity.
-
Normally we should be in the 70's near 80 but we had the hot spell in April and now we are cold 65 and dreary in May. calling for warming temps by the end of the week, closer to normal. Also, the main A/C compressor unit for the computer room has gone out (2 weeks ago) and the other unit for this floor (small air ducts in the computer room but handles the rest of the floor) has been turned colder to compensate for the ailing a/c unit and keep the computer room cool. There is no way to stop the a/c from coming in my office area so I am freezing. Since this building will be dark in a couple of months I don't know if they are going to fix it.

I hope it warms up soon Sheila. I can't work in the freezing cold! We're supposed to have unseasonably hot weather next week (yea!) after this unseasonably cold three weeks.
Ok my Deadliest Catch friends (Meece and Mary) I'm on my way to get ready for bed and watch the newest episode - on in 15 minutes.
Talk with you all tomorrow.
-
Well, RKC season is over. Ready for opies. At least Sigurd (I was surprised that that was his full name) knew when to give up on the blues. The Northwetsren would be the one I'd want to work on, they made the most per crewman. Cornelia Marie is the boat I'd least want to be on, because they are the one with all the mechanical issues. I am glad Jonathan's son is staying on.
-
It was a good show last night. I was glad they showed fishing for other crab - I had no idea there were so many varieties and glad that Keith let Monty go fishing for Baird - they did well. Did you see the octopus one of the vessels caught and threw back in - it might have been Sigurd's ship - can't remember. I'll have to watch it again on Thursday night cause I'm sure I missed a lot - especially when grandson #1 got up and was looking for his mama who wasn't home yet!
Beautiful sunshine today, going for a high of 77 which we haven't seen since mid April.
-
I saw that octopus, and they just skidded it acrossed the deck and overboard. Keith is not a very ethical man, so I was glad Monty got the helm and did so well. I can't figure out how they know which crabs will be in which area, and how come they only get one type at a time. Years of experience I am sure.
Weather Report: We are supposed to get to 86 today but temps will drop to 72 on Saturday.

Hello my friends. Had the nips put on and more fat grafting yesterday. I tried to watch DC, but I was so spaced out I just had to go to bed. All went well, I guess. I can't see the nips yet. Amazing what bothers me the most--the tape they put in my eyelids was ripped off along with tape that held the tube for intubation along with many layers of skin. It really smarts. Also my throat is so sore. The lipo makes it feel like I was have been beaten badly about the gut. I've let my family know, this is the LAST time I will do this. I plan to have a very happy life from here.
We had some rain earlier in the week and it is reaching the 90's each day. My yard is beautiful and I have lots of plans for yard work when I'm healed up.
-
Mary, When my ps did my exchange he also did some lypo (not for fat grafting though) just to try and help the silloutte. You will be sore for a couple of days and the area may turn some lovely shades of purple/brown as the bruised area heals. The intubation tube seemed to scratch my throat, and the last surgery I had, I ended up with a fat lip where it got pinched when they were putting the tube in.
Last night it clouded up some and I thought we were in for another storm but it didn't rain. it is cool again this morning but expecting temps in the 70's today, that is warm compared to the mid 60's we have had this week.
Sheila
-
Mary, thanks for checking in, I thought about you all day yesterday and your were in my prayers.
I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to have an implant - don't want more surgery, with my autoimmune disease I don't know if I could do a silicone (or whatever they use) - might have to be fat from my tummy. I'll talk to a PS but I'm not quite ready to even do that yet!
Meece, I like Monty as the captain much better too. Keith needs to take a long sabbatical.
Sheila, glad no more rain and that you're going to have warmer weather. I hate cold soooo much.
We're in the low 60s already, no wind, it's beautiful outside. Thank God for this beautiful day.
-
Hi Suzette and thank you so much. I did give me comfort knowing there were many people, some I've not met in person yet, were thinking and praying for me. I did not do this as quickly as many do who have TE's placed immediately during the mast. I had to do one thing at a time.
I've recenlty found out I'm Vitamin D deficient. This gives me a reason to go and sit out in the direct sun for awhile this afternoon. I haven't done that in a long time.
-
That was my feeling with my choices, one thing at a time! Enjoy the direct sunlight - you deserve it.
-
Nothing wrong with taking one step, making one choice/decision at a time!
-
I had fat grafting in November, and it was two or three months before I was completely over being tender. The nurses and my GP we all very impressed how delicately the PS did the work, but none the less, I was in pain. And very black and blue. I posted pictures on TimTam's site. The girls there made me feel better about how long the healing was taking.
-
Yep, this is my second round of fat grafting, so I knew what I was getting into.
-
I sure didn't. I said it would be my last surgery, but now 6 months down the line, things have settled, and there is still a substantial size difference, which makes bras uncomfortable, and bra shopping frustrating. I don't know what I'll do, but it most likely won't be this year.
-
I'm sorry Meece. I don't think this last fat grafting helped anything. One is still larger than the other, too. I just can't stand how I feel when I come out of anesthesia, so I am so glad it is over.
No rain today. I sat in the sun for about 5 minutes, but it was too hot.
-
I am the same way. That is why Isaid that it was going to be my last. I warn the Drs. that I have trouble with anesthesia, but they still really dope me up. They nearly admitted me over night last time because I did pretty well until they sat me up, then I got super nasueous, so they had to give me anti-nausea drugs in my IV which knocked me out again. It was nearly 10 pm when I got out of the hospital, They had already put me in post op instead of outpatient recovery. PS said he could do the next procedure under twilight, or local. I might consider that. I am torn. At least I don't cry when I look in the mirror anymore. six years of that was enough.
-
well, I have a lot of thinking to do. I told my DH that I would at least talk to the PS. He thinks I'm perfectly fine exactly how I am and doesn't want me to go through more pain but knows it's my decision. We'll see, I'll probably lean on all of you when it's time to make that decision.
It is a beautiful morning here. Sunny and in the mid 60s already, headed for a high in the low 80s. I got to sleep with the windows open last night, it was wonderful.
-
I find the anesthesia to be the hardest to come back from. I, too get real nauseous. They gave me a new drug, emend, before the surgery. I kept me from being sick at the last surgery, but not on Tuesday. They had to give me something else and I, too, konked out again. I feel much better today. We are flying to Louisiana for a very short trip and I believe I can make it. The dressings over the nips are interesting. They are like squashed ping pong balls but made out of some kind of fabric. The PS sewed them to me and he sewed stars across them. Very cute. I have nice big breasts now. I did not have big ones before. I love them and they even jiggle a little bit.
It is very hot today. I sat in the sun earlier for my vitamin d. Should rain here later and possibly more as the weekend gets here.
-
I took Emend during chemo, and it really helped. Have you seen how much it costs though?
I wish mine were a bit smaller. PS and his nurses made the decision while I was under, trying to match the one I had. Unfortunately, they went on the larger sizer. larger than I had told them, but I had no idea how drastic the difference between the two was, and it still isn't as big as "the old girl". I wish I could have her reduced. I'd be happy, and they would match better, I think.
-
Meece, have you asked your PS about reducing the size of the foob? My PS asked me what size I wanted to be (B cup, down from DDD) and he said he would do his best, but he usually goes a little larger since the size can be decreased during stage 2. He specifically said it's easy to decrease the size of a reconstructed breast made from a tissue flap--it's just fat and can be liposuctioned. If you want to be smaller, and match better, I'm betting it can be done. At least ask!
-
I guess I didn't think my unaffected side was as big as it is, so when they put in 400cc in the radiated side, (knowing I would be having a lift to the other side later) I thought that was too much. But when he did the lift in Nov., even though he took out some tissue, it is still at least a cup size larger than my radiated side. Not to mention, it jiggles more, but that is only noticable without a bra. I think I would have to have a reduction on my unaffected side.

The title of this thread may be "baby it's cold outside" but here in central Maine it is HOT! 87 degrees inside at 7:24 pm. I turned on the AC in the bedroom this afternoon and napped all day in the comfy coolness. Got a severe thunderstorm warning in place as a cold front is supposed to be coming through this evening/tonight. I'd kind of like to have a good storm to watch tonight.
-
Yep, baby it is hot hot hot outside. Still up in the 90's here. We had some rain last evening and hope for some tonight.
Get the "reveal" tomorrow of my new nipples. Hope it worked.
-
It's been hot and humid in Michigan since Sunday - personally I love it. We've been in the upper 80s with moderate humidity (60 and 70%).
Glad you could have a relaxing day NM, napping most of the day sounds divine. I had to take a nap at work today - haven't had to do that since March.
Mary, good luck with the reveal tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.
-
It has been coolish here with some clouds and showers due to a low off the coast. Normally the rain comes from the West, this week it has come from the East. we may hit 90 this weekend though.
Sheila
-
We made it to the low 70s yesterday, but it is supposed to be cooler today, possible rain, and then cool tomorrow. It should be in the 70s all week.
I don't think I can change the name of the thread.
