Bye Bye Boobie party

I had one before my mascetomy. Planning it helped me keep my mind occupied and busy on "other things". On teh invitations I called it a "B3 shower", cause I thought "boobie" would not be something that everyone would want hanging on thier refrigerator.  ANY ONE do this? I HIGHLY reccomend it!

I have heard of it and while it's not perfect for everyone, many have definitely had fun with it!  If you want to have a bye bye boobie party, then go for it!

Thanks for passing along what worked for you!

Didn't have a bye bye boobie party. I am planning a "Boobietaunt" this summer, a fun away to debut the new girls. My theme song will be Bad Mama Jama(yes that is how I chose my screen name here).I had alot of suggestions for the theme but I wanted to feel "All sexy and Sassy". As you girls know those feelings are hard to come by during treatment, surgery etc. Now I play the song when I need a boost or a giggle.

Friday May 7th I had a small party at HOOTERS with some friends from work.  Had a few margaritas and toasted adieu to my set .... I won't miss them actually.  Never liked them from day one!

It's been 5 days since my surgery, BMX with immediate reconstruction with Latissimus Dorsi Flap ... all went well, a little extra swelling on the right than on the left, maybe due to the lymph node disection taken, not sure.  Hopefully that will subside soon.  Went home with 8 drains ... 4 each side and hubby is doing a great job of changing dressings and stripping the lines and charting all the measurements, color, etc.

The girls from my work threw a going-away party for my breasts....it was awesome!  The invitations read..."Ta-ta to the ta-tas......thanks for all the mammaries".  They even brought cupcakes that were decorated to look like breasts.  It was great to feel all their love and support and even have a few laughs!

I wasn't up for festivities before my surgery but I did have a wonderful candle-lit bath 2 nights before where I touched my breast, kind of gave it a "thank you" and emotionally let go of it. I think it really helped me prepare and not to be devastated afterwards. It was kind of a "going away" party in its own way.
