Kelly I have to make a list of my med to make sure I take the correct one at the right time. Right now I pills that cause diarrhea and ones that cause constipation so they should cancel each other out. I hate taking so many pills.

Karen my grandbabies call me grandma. I have to wait until the end of May to plant anything here too. We've actually had frost in June some years so we really are never sure. Silly weather.

Leggy it is cool that you have a friend with a frost alarm. Isn't it amazing how much we talk about the weather the older we get.

I have parent/teacher conferences tonight. I only get about five or six parents that come, so it is going to be a long day.

    Have a good one

I was at the hospital yesterday getting my blood work done, etc. and asked for a copy of my CT results from last week. I still have to meet with the onc. on the 27th so they didnt want to discuss the results with me, however, I convinced them to let me have a copy.

Ladies, I have good news!!! My CT results show that since the last CT (in Jan) there has been no progression, and one of the tumours in my neck is about 15% smaller. YAY!!!! No new mets anywhere. I am hoping this Xeloda will keep up the good work for many many more months. years maybe?! I am very upbeet today, and enjoying the sunshine and warm air.

    Love you all, xo Choc.

ps: also the accountant had good news too (not as much tax owing as we thought), so it's been a good two days so far this week! I wonder what's third? I'll go buy a lottery ticket for us all. Money mouth

Excellent news Choc!  That is so great.  That just made my day!  You could win the lottery!  Grandma Wyoming!  Parent teacher conferences probably would drive me to drink if I was a teacher.  Well, I probably would if I was the parent and think I did a few times after returning home from them.  LOL!  Karen, Kathy, whoever you are, I am still confused.  Have fun walking the hounds.  Leggy, no planting here for us until Memorial Day.  Even then you might be taking a chance.   It is 77 degrees here but the crappy weather is headed back for the end of the week. Kelly, you sound like a great browinie leader!  You deserve a massage and more.  Hope you get a good rest with your meds.  I am back at work and I will be darned if it isn't just the same there as before I left for surgery.  I am tired tonight so am going to watch TV and keep the feet up.  Hiya Bonnie!  Take care all!  XXOO  HunkyDory

Chocolate, we are both having good results with the xeloda.  My onc called yesterday and said that my PET scan showed no progression since last time and looked better than before (no areas of uptake) so that made me pretty happy and he seemed happy about it too, he is so nice.

That was good news, then my oldest called today and said he was accepted into a pre professional program (for free) this summer in Denver, and my daughter got a call saying they had room for her in pony camp.  I told my sister that I was going to call my other son and see if he also had good news and she joked that if he is not in jail that is good news~ true, because he got a ticket for underage drinking the very week he went to college and her husband had to go collect him from the booking station :)  Maybe I will also buy a lottery ticket!  Kelly

Kelly, I'm so happy to hear you have good new too! You deserve it!

Hey, I wanted to tell you also that you inspired me. I have signed up to be a Girl Guide Sparks leader. Yay! They are 5-6 yrs old. and so cute. I am in love with all of them. I'm already thinking of ideas for the unit meetings, but I don't start until Sept. How am I ever going to wait that long?

Hope all you gals on Xeloda are doing well.  Wind, wind, and more wind.  I think it has blown what little sense I do have out of my head.  My thumbs up to all you gals working with kids.  I'm afraid I need to just stick with the animals.  Would be nice to have a grandbaby though......  Husband just mowed the lawn, and I was paying bills.  Am ordering a new kitchen sink and faucet today I think.  Wyoming, when you redid your kitchen a couple years ago or last year, did you put in new sink?  I know you did cabinets.  If so, what kind did you choose, stainless, cast iron, composite, and do ya like it?  Just curious.  If anyone else has any imput let me know.  I have a old cheap stainless steel one now that I can't even clean anymore.  It is horrible.  Well, that's all that is going on for me this weekend.  I am resting from being back at work.  Hugs to all!  HunkyDory!

Hi Everyone, LeggyJ 80 degrees that is warm it is nice here but not near that 70 maybe but that is comfortable for me well a little bit warmer would be nice but I just can't seem to handle a lot of heat, I used to but not now. Oh yes, and I better get busy and walk my dog to lol.

Did you all know that your hair will get a lot thinner taking Tamoxifen - wonderful. It seemed to be getting quite thin and I asked my Dr. and she said yes it can make your hair thin out quite a bit. Good think I kept my wig. Just hope I don't have to use it.

On Friday I went to get the tubes out of my eyes or tear duct, he cut the loop in both eyes and then was getting me to try and blow it out, and of course it didn't work. I have kept trying all weekend, nothing happened. So I have to call him first thing tomorrow and he will send me to a nose specialist that has the right instruments to take them out. Aren't you all envious lol.  Such wonderful conversation. The highlight of my life!!

Hope everyone is doing good hunky hope you have good luck with your sink, I would love to get another one as mine is getting pretty bad also. Wyoming put your feet up and keep them up you deserve a good rest. Chocolate and Kelly glad things are going good for you.

Well good night all, and everyone take care

First of all LeggyJ how dare you tell us how warm it is when we are all cold and windblown.LOL I can't wait for it to get warm and stay. One nice thing about Wyoming is that we have beautiful summers. The evenings cool down so you can sleep.

HunkyD I did replace my sink. I put in a composite. I think fiberglass. It is made by American Standard, white, and so far it has been easy to keep clean. I have had it over a year. I think on reason I bought it was it said that it was stain resistant. It is so much lighter than my old cast iron.

Bonnie we do do things the hard way. Just once it would be nice if everything went according to the plan. I hope it doesn't hurt to have the tubes out.

I had my first weekend without any treatment and I didn't take a nap at all. Watched the movie with George Clooney, "UP in The Air", (I think that was the title, wind had blown my memory). It was pretty good.

Kelly, Chocolate, and Karen hope you all had a nice weekend.

Ugh spent the weekend in bed.  Bad "runs" from the tykerb or xeloda.  Lost 4 pounds.  Felt like crappola.  Soooo tired.  It was my week off of xeloda too so I hoped I would feel better.  Did have a good talk with my husband and he has been pretty helpful since then.

Anyway I feel somewhat better today and am going to get some help cleaning and running around this week so I will be stronger by the time my family comes this weekend for my daughters first holy communion. Will be glad to see them but don't want to get everyone riled up again if I still feel yucky  :)

Leggy.  I am jealous of your weather  Chocolate how are you feeling?  Bonnie  The tear duct stuff is so uncomfortable I am sorry it didn't go according to plan.  Hunky, what kind of sink did you get? Wyoming  Colorado cools down in the evenings too, a big benefit when you don't have central air.

I agree Wyoming, Leggy's askin' for it! 80's sheesh! that sucks! lol.

Bonnie, good luck with everything. That does not sound like fun!

Kelly, I have a harder time off Xeloda than on it! I am taking two weeks between cycles, and today my hips and back are killing me and its time to start again! My best friend is the heating pad, and I only went out for becoz i had a healing touch appt. (ok, I also had a blizzard at DQ) I also feel quite emotional on the weeks that i dont take Xeloda. Not sure what's up with that.  I thought the good CT news would bring me peace for a while, but dh says I'm still crazy. LOL.

Tomorrow i go see med.onc and I'll ask her about my wacky emotions and these Xeloda cycles. Over the years I've learned to listen to my body, and if it needs two weeks between cycles, then that's what I want to give it. My blood counts are al very low anyway. I'll just check with her to make sure it's ok.  I know the length of life thing is the big factor at this stage, but quality is important too. I'll let you all know how it goes.

    hugs to all, Choc.

btw; it's cloudy and they say rain tomorrow. and it's only 10C (about 50 farenheit) so enjoy your sun Leggy - for all of us!

Kelly....sorry to hear you had such a crappy weekend.  I hope you feel much better for your daughter's first communion.  Do all the girls dress up like little brides still?

Chocolate.. It must be a hard time for you.  I can not imagine the emotional side of things.  I do find that DQ does help with the blue moods though  Laughing

Wyoming...I guess you are on a countdown as school will end pretty soon for the summer.  I did see that movie,  it had quite an ending didn't it...not what you expect.

HunkyD ..I only have stainless steel so I am not up on the other types.  As for cupboards,  I ended up painting mine and they cam out pretty good.

Leggy...that temp sounds soo nice.  It is a nice day here today but it is still cool in the air.  We are getting the sunshine which makes you feel so much better.

Bonnie.... hope that all works out for you.  I am on Arimidex, so not sure what all the side effects are for that one.   I know bone loss is a biggy.  It is always something.

We celebrated my brother in laws 60th birthday last Friday... he actually wanted to go bowling.  think he was reliving his youth... all the family went and it was fun.    It didn't hit me until Sunday the effects of bowling...it was the 10 pin and man the ball was heavy.     Another week of work already.  I am feeling DAT already.

    Enjoy the day,

    Karen

okay everyone, tubes are out everything is clear and no tears, great what a relief!

Now if I could find a little bit of energy hiding around the corner somewhere that would be great. Has anyone ever tried any of those energy drinks, thought it might be worth a try - not sure.

    Everyone have a nice weekend,

    Bonnie

Good to hear, Bonnie! But if you have any trouble sleeping, at all, stay away from those energy drinks - they are loaded with caffeine!! Vit B's are supposed to increase energy. Maybe increase your intake of those. ?

Hi girls, my bragging about the lovely weather yesterday, jinxed it, we have have cold front coming tonight. I'm getting sick of working in the rain....but at least the weekend was nice.

Bonnie, I started on tamoxifen shortly after radiation and my hair has never really filled in on top.  I started using Nioxin shampoo/conditioner and it seems to thicken what hair I do have, thus making it look thicker.  I hate my hair, but at least my head isn't freezing anymore thanks to hot flashes and a wee bit more hair.  Sorry Wyoming, you'll get your pretty hair again.

Kelly I'm glad you had a talk with the DH, sounds like he will pitch in and help you, so you don't get to tired.

Dinner time, so I'm off for now.

Chocolate thanks for the information, I definitely will not take those drinks I have enough problem sleeping. Thanks for the info.

LeggyJ I will have to try that shampoo/conditioner and see if it helps. I am sure that is why you are having a hard time with your hair is that you are taking the Tamoxifen. Oh well I am sure we can get along fine with these little problems. Just glad to have hair again and we will eventually get off the Tamoxifen.

Bonnie glad to hear the tubes are out and everything is fine. I don't drink the energy drinks because I don't like the taste. I have been taking VitB and last night I took some before bed and then I couldn't sleep. Don't know if there is a connection or not.

Kelly and Chocolate I have been taking Xeloda for a month now with only one week between cycles and I'm on my week off. So far it I haven't had the runs this week. But I also didn't have any other treatment. This month I have the had a very close relationship with the bathroom. Even at 1:30 in the morning. I hope this isn't too much info for every one.LOL.

Kelly make sure to take lots of pictures so you can post one of your little girls first communion.

Chocolate It is a good thing my DQ is out of my way or I would be getting blizzards all the time and then I would become even closer with my bathroom.

Leggy I think you sent some of your cold rainy weather my way as the rest of the week is to be wet and cold.

Karen we take our students bowling twice a year and the ball gets pretty heavy at the end and my arm feels like it ten feet long the next day but what fun.

Hunky any decisions on your sink yet?

Hubby and I woke up a 1:30 this morning and started watching the movie "The Proposal". Stayed awake until it was over so I'm DAT. It will be an eary bed time for me tonight.

Wyoming, when I had chemo.(TAC) there was some drug I had to take before and after infusion that made it very difficult to sleep.  I stayed up all night reading with a flashlight so I wouldn't disturb, Wolfie's sleep...OMG, I'm LOL....But I started taking Ambien, now I sleep like a baby, and Wolfie sleep's in the living room.  I think I may have a snoring problem, now.

ok ladies, who ordered the snow? YES! That ugly four letter word - you heard me right. SNOW! big fat white fluffy flakes coming fast and heavy. Where the heck is spring? My poor trees are bending to the ground. Geez, I wish I could bend that far. LOL.

I saw my onc yesterday and we talked about how I might be depressed. No $hit Sherlocke! Sometimes I wonder about these dr's. I'm stage IV, feel crappy most of the time, and that's when I'm awake becoz I sleep at least 12 hrs/day;' my hips and back ache constantly so I can't even enjoy a nice walk - and who would want to when it's freezing/snowing outside? So, next week I go for a psychologist appt. Hopefully I can get some good happy drugs. lol.

thx for listening ladies. I'm just having a pity party at the moment. xo Choc.

Leggy when my cat decides to sleep on me I won't move until he leaves because heaven for bid I wake him. I will wake hubby but not the animals.

Choc....my little sweet.  Hope you get some good relief from some meds.  I could never take those antidepressants dang the luck.  Wish I could because I am a fretful mess.  Hump Day = Wednesday in my vocabulary.  All you others, get out of the gutter!  LOL!  Leggy, I think you, me, and Wyoming all did the gold plan TAC all at once in our Chemo group.  I wasn't given any steroids in pill form or don't recall the feeling of the steroid high everyone talks about.  Maybe it was in my infusion, but if it was, it didn't perk me up one durn bit.  I also am on the Tamoxifen and am not really enjoying that particular little drug.  No choice for me though.
Animals:  I wouldn't wake any animal sleeping with me either Wyoming.  That is unconditional love. When my husband can scratch behind his ear with his foot, I will let him sleep in too.   LOL!
People, I did order a sink.  It is a granite/quartz composite.  I hope I like it.  It can't be worse than what I have.  Plus a shiny new faucet.  What a birthday present I will have eh?  Husband says I might even get a new garbage disposal.  Thanks for the ideas on sinks gals.  Bonnie, glad you got your tubes out.  That must have been weird.  Also, I think you got the correct info on the energy drinks.   Wish I could exercise more cause that is the best energy high you can get.  Those natural endorphins partying in your body.  Maybe I can get back on the treadmill here next week.  Surgery just has slowed this old gal down again.  Oh, and on the weather....it was snowing here today.  It has warmed up to 40 so now is just blowing hard and raining.  Oh these lovely springs.  Wow, I love you all and wish we were all sitting around a big table with drinks and food of our choice.  Hope you are doing well Kelly and bet you will have such joy at your DD big weekend.  Karen/Kathy....howdy!  Chow...now!  HunkyD

I find it hard to believe, there's a cancer patient out there who doesn't take anti-depressants, but HunkyD, you are a brave soul.  I don't know what I would do without Celexa.  What with work, my Mom, and feeling like I'm an old crabby women, I'd probably go postal.

Chocolate I can't even say I forgot to spell check cuz I did. I didn't know hunp was even a word, You don't need a filter, I would let you say anything about me and my cancer or life. I keep telling my hubby that I wan't at my funeral to have everyone tell a funny story about me because I 'm such a dork. I had to ask my students what ROFL meant. You make me ROFL. Maybe you can give us a lesson on text slang.

Hunky what color did you get? I wish we all could be sitting around a table with food and drink and staying warm and LOL.

Leggy I'm visual also so I saw the same image you did about Hunky's hubby.

Kelly, Karen, and Bonnie how are you all doing?

hi gals! we are out of power today. It went out at 1am and it's still not back on. Snow and ice and wind and YUCK! Anyway, good thing for laptops with batteries. YAY! So, I don't feel too isolated.

Wyoming, what are you talking about " at your funeral" ?!?!?! Check out the stage IV thread about Kathy Rich. She's been living with cancer, stage IV, for 17 years!!! That's right. And not just at home on pain meds. She has travelled to India and written two books. Amazing! Hope is what we need to keep in our hearts. Stage IV is just a label. She checks in each year on Jan 15, so I say we all look for her posting in 2011.

I'm not sure about being so up on all the lingo. I keep seeing people "bump" threads. What the heck is that? Getting bumped was never a good thing when I watched the Soprano's. ?!

Hunky are you up and at 'em again? Your sink sounds fantastic! & a new disposal. WOW! you are so spoiled. LOL. Actually I've needed a new faucet for two years, ours dribbles like me when I take too much Ativan. hahahahaaaa.....anyway, I love those white country kitchen sinks and might splurge for one of those this summer with a new faucet. check out the ones you can just bump and they come on. no more handles. isnt technology lovely?

ok, I better go check out the other threads, and facebook, before my batteries are empty. love you all ladies. Have a terrific Thursday! xo Choc.
