I am 30. Diagnosed May 16, 2005. I will be 31 in October.
-
Mammo on 6/3/05, the day before my 51st birthday. I knew from the mammo and resultant discussion with the radiologist that I had a big problem, though my biopsy results were officially relayed to me on 7/5/05.

Diagnosed at 40, nine days before my 41st birthday

The birthday thing is so odd.. I KNEW on June 1 - but with inflammatory bc, they put me through 3 weeks of antibiotics, another biopsy on June 30, final DX on July 1.
My 43rd birthday - June 20th -
Hi! I was dx'd w/stageIV bc last Sept 15th-11 days before I turned 56 after an MRI to my back. Thought an old back injury had flared but mets at L3 instead (almost destroyed vertebra). ILC found in 9/27 lumpectomy on R (.5cm x1.5cm er+/pr-/her2-) hadn't shown up on previous mammograms. Mastectomy, chemo (taxotere/AC), bad antibiotic resistant cellulits infx, 33 rads & LE now. Mom was Dx'd in 1978 at age 60 but died of heart failure in 1988. Last PET scan 4/25 was "dark" so all is well thus far. Good luck to all! Mary

It's hard for me to read through this list-a little emotional today. I'm sorry we're all here but so very thankful that we all have this site for support. -
I was 34 (now 41).
-
diagnosed by mamogram on 6/11/05 (son's 23rd birthday) 9 days after my 47th birthday. wasnt on mamogram in Sept of 2004 - so I feel very lucky to have caught it early.
-
Hi sisters, I was diagnosed at 63. This, believe it or not, is the age when MOST gals are diagnosed. (Median age)
They sure don't come on the Internet at this age!
Hugs, Shirlann -
44 at diagnosis. Turned 45 during chemo this past June. Aug.'04 annual mamm was clear (?). Palpable lump found (thanks to my ex-boyfriend!) Nov.'04. There's no way in my opinion that the lump wasn't there when I had my mammogram.
Been having mamms for 15 years. I am now going to insist on an annual breast MRI.

I was diagnosed the first time at 43 and the second time at 48. I just turned the big 50!! First round was lumpectomy and radiation on left breast and second round was another lumpectomy, chemo & radiation on the right breast. Hope I'm done!
-
Diagnosed 3 weeks before my 52nd birthday...my mom was 64 when diagnosed (living a healthy life at age 80!) and a first cousin was 46...have two daughters age 24 and 28, was told they need mammograms started 10 years earlier than the youngest person diagnosed, which would start around age 36... Anybody else heard at what age to start? They are both very much aware of self breast exams.
-
Ten years before is what I've heard as well but hy not start at35? That's when I had my first mammo (and I have no family history).
-
I'm 50. Just got my bc diagnosis this August. Must have been there awhile though, since one tumor they removed was 1.8 cm, and it's a slow-growing cancer.
-
I had also heard that mammograms should start 10 years earlier than the youngest a person was diagnosed. For me, that would have been 36. My GYN suggested 35. I found my lump at age 34. Didn't have a chance for that first mammogram.
