Okay I need to be slapped....I am E-LAC again....with no motivation AT ALL
I did a little bit of gardening and we are at 84 degrees outside so it is a little hot.
-
Janeluvsdogs I make tangy dressing using spicy dijon mustard, a touch of honey and yogurt for a creamy dressing and balsomic vinegar, olive oil, crushed garlic, parmesan cheese for a light dressing. I always mix them fresh as they are quick.
-
I am trying very hard to stick to the diet this week but it sure is hard when you're sick and feel like yuck! All I want is chicken noodle soup and ice cream. My throat is really sore from all the sinus drainage. The pollen count here has been through the roof!! The temp yesterday was 87!!! We are suppose to have rain on thursday with storms and back to 61, only in Alabama
. O.k. gotta get ready for work. Talk with my ladies later. Have a great day!!

I am encouraged that for the first time in a year, when I step on the scale, it doesn't go over 170 one day, under the next, over the next. I have been able to be consistently under 170 for a couple of weeks now. I figure in about 3-4 weeks ishould be having the same results under the 160 mark. My fingers are crossed for this goal.
-
Okay, I have a challege. What do you think is the most filling food to snack on at four in the afternoon? Yogurt lasts about ten minutes and I'm hungry again. Somebody told me to take a square of chocolate and a cup of coffee because it kills the appetite.
If I could get thru till dinner time without getting over-hungry I think I could make some progress.
-
Anything from nut family well you know what I mean....lol
Like almonds, peanuts, walnuts but only a handful.
Lately when I'm really starving which always happens late hours of the night.
I get up and force myself to drink a full glass of water.

Well birdies.
I won't even go into the last couple of weeks for me.
The biggest challenge was saying good-bye to my dear Saint.
I've always known that I'm an emotional-eater..... between losing her, the DisneyWhirl, the grandkids of gooey, and the Bunny who brought sugar by the barrel........ I went a seriously long way down the wrong road, before I found an opportunity to take a U-Turn.
Yesterday was spent on the real sand of the real beach with the real breezes blowing the cobwebs away..... followed by shopping in cutsie beach bungalos. (The kind that have pink flamingos, t-shirts, bumper stickers and other shore nonsense.)
When I saw this sign, I thought of us. I signed up for a renewal of my ELAB membership and have vowed to attempt to get back to my low listing in the header.
Here's your chuckle for the day:
Now get up and laugh and do a couple of laps around your couch, desk, chair -- where ever your fanny is parked. We are in this together thru the long-haul..... the ups & downs, the backs & forths. Congrats to those of you who are winning gold metals every week. You're moving us along in the right direction is encouraging.
Fellow slackers, whatever the situation.......... walk away from that Reece's Easter Egg. Put down that fork between bites, drink more liquids, and start up the fidgeting at every opportunity.
U - Turns are to be expected and are accepted.
Climbing back on the treadmill this afternoon!!

I have one last See's Easter egg in my lingerie drawer. I saved my favorite for last, and hope that I can hold off. It is a symbol of my will power this week. Perhaps it will be my reward on Friday if I get to post another weight loss.
-
Ditto the Nuts. I avoid peanuts because of the high carbs. but I found some yummy smoked almonds, and walnuts in the produce department. They only $3.99 for a big bag.
Faithandfifty-Losing saint was hard. I have read her past post when I first got on here. It's always a slap in the face when you learn of someone who actually didn't win this battle. Know tha she is watching us from a higher place and cheering us on.
Mimi-Pollen is kicking my butt. I have to get up in the middle of the night and wash my face. We have all the dang windows shut and still the stuff gets in. I've taken to wiping my doggie off before she come sin the house in hopes to keeping the yellow junk out. Looking forward to the rain Thursday. We call it Yellow snow, and this year is suppose to be one of the worse because of the wet winter we had. Next comes the bugs. But the Azeleas will bloom soon. Looking forward to that.

After reading the morning postings, I have just drank a gallon of water. Well, not that much but close to it! I had some broccoli, grapes, & a smoothie for lunch with 4 (=170 Cals) of Club Crackers (which I should not have had-why did I?!?) Chocolate is not my weakness tho I do have some squares of that dark cacao kind for when I need it.
My weakness is ooey-gooey desserts with cream cheese, cool whip, puddings. WHAT AM I DOING??!!? Back to reality!!
Sheila ~ Happy Cancerversary !!!!! FIVE YEARS !!!!!! WHOOHOO !!!!!!
faithandfifty ~ LOVE the bird w/the french fry. I can visualize that! We all have detours, just don't hit any of the orange barrels!
Janeluvsdogs ~ I also drink a big glass of water when that mid-afternoon hunger strikes. Sometimes I add some Crystal Light, gives me flavor w/out calories. Sometimes I have gotten a handful of walnuts, that works, or one square of Ghirardelli Dark Cacoa or all three (!).
Jamieh ~ Okay, you're at the E-LAC stage - then you'll be at the E-LAP stage, that's smaller & before you know it, you'll be back at the E-LAB stage.
Have a great afternoon ladies!
-
I am having the same afternoon hunger issue. Today I tried a glass of milk and a grahm cracker with peanut butter. Will see how it works. I think I get int he car for the hour+ drive home and my mind says oh yea home FOOD!!!
-
LADIES- YOU HAVE INSPRIED ME SO MUCH, and due to my lack of personal willpower, I have a personal trainer now! Kicked me on my booty last night... in a good way! She recommend 14 lbs to lose... lets see! Second session is tonight! After the workout and knowing how much effort it takes to burn calories, I have to say, I have eaten like a bird today!
Just as an FYI- My weigh in last night on the "real scale" was 170 lbs!!! Meece, can you kindly change my starting weight to 170.. (although my home scale still reads 168!)
Okay, back to work, just had to share my news... and get updated on all of you.
Renee- Sorry to hear you are not feeling well!
Meece- Hang on to that Easter Egg as your reward on Friday
Jaimieh- You do not have much weight to lose... you are in good hands, continue gardening, it is good excercise!
Sheila- Congrats on teh Cancerversary
Valjean- At least your numbers are going down from where you started and not up
And, to all my other ladies out there! GOOD LUCK!
-
I just had a glass of water. Yummy
Nicole and Valerie......Thanks for the good wishes.
My weight is stuck even it's few ounces more as of now.
All is left is cutting my fruit intake or ELA-R hahaha
I was looking at my summer clothes today. I tried my bathing suit
Remember the dress that was too big for me. I just ordered it on-line the smaller size. I usually don't like to buy clothing on line but what can go wrong if its too small, I can return it to my local Target Store.
Nicole go girl get ready for Hawaii. I'm trying but my weight is attached to me doesn't let me go.
carollynn... Repeat after me. Food is no good water is (At least10 times)
PauldingMom...Don't forget to count your nuts before you eat them. Find a tiny bowl this way you feel like you are eating a lot
Dear Faith Welcome back.
Meece... you can reward yourself this weekend if you keep loosing.
Okay I'm ready for another glass of water now.
Ladies.. You really motivate me. Thank You All. I feel little better that I wrote.
Sheila

I am proud of myself I have walked for the last 6 days straight!! I am doing well on not eating any candy so far this week. Will have to see what the scale says on Friday but am making progress, all of you inspire me to try harder and make better choices.
Sheila I even drank lots of water today!!!!
-
I had a trip to the women's imaging center today for an ultrasound, so drinking water was a must. The tech said I had a beautifully full bladder...as she poked the stupid doppler thing all over it!!! I think I am still on track to maintain if not lose, although that chocolate egg seemes to be calling to me. Maybe I need to move it out of the bedroom to somewhere I can't hear it.
-
A short note before I go to bed:
Carrollynn ~ 6 straight days walking, way to go!!
Hi Nicole!
night ladies,
hugs
-
I checked in on a personal trainer, but here they want an arm and a leg. It would be fine if they took the fat off two arms and legs...
-
Hang in there ladies... you all can do this!! Faithandfifty yeah to you for making a U turn!! It's hard as heck to get back on the horse after being off for a while.
Go Nicole ... if you can do a personal trainer more power to you.!! I'm with Meece, if they could take the fat off my two arms and legs I might could afford to pay for one. LOL!
Went to the doc today... I have an ear infection classically known as Otitis Media (haha) and a sinus infection. I never had ear infections as a kid, but this is about the 3rd one I've had in the last 3 yrs. I kinda think it's funny... getting ear infections in my 40's.
Suppose to weigh in tomorrow but not sure how that will go or if I'll get to. I did weigh in this morn at 158 lbs. In case I don't get to tomorrow. My dad is back in the hospital with another brain bleed. He just had that surgery last Monday for one and came home on Thursday. He started having a bad headached and they took him back a few hours ago and they admitted him back to Neuro Intensivecare. Please say a prayer I'm really worried!!! Going to the hospital most likely

Renee my thoughts and prayers are with you and your Dad.
-
D-R-U-M-R-O-L-L............................................................
-
Renee...Thinking of you and your Dad.
I hope you get good news when you visit him tonight.
Sheila
-
I'm off to bed & I have said a prayer for your Dad, Renee. My thoughts are with you.
{{hugs}}
-
I am afraid to check today. But I will...when I get out of bed.
-
First, I am praying for you and your Dad Renee.
I did not have coconut cake on Easter (because there wasn't anything!) I did have strawberries and whip cream..I am down another 2 pounds inspite of the additional carbs.

YEA, it is not much but I am happy especially since I learned the average person who has theri thyroid removed gains weight, just what I need. Oh I lost 1.5
Way to go OmahaGirl
-
OmahaGirl & carollynn, Hooray!!
I stayed the same: 146.6
Three days this week I was 146.2 & one day I was even 146. Oh well, today is weigh in day, so I have another week to get back down.
Keep the good news coming, ladies!
-
161.2
-
At least it is a loss, Seyla. Bit by bit, we will whittle the fat away!
-
Only five of us posted anything here yesterday! Where are the other 12? I did some quick calculations and it appears that collectively we have lost over 40 lbs in one month. Not bad!
-
Meece. I am attempting to curb my addiction to the boards, by inserting some other fun & games into my life.
I have a moral victory to claim, though it doesn't put me below my previously low weight.
This morning I weighted in at 145.2 so walking 6 miles daily on the treadmill since I had my epiphany wake-up call/U turn has apparently been helpful. (I had eaten my way up to 149.8 before I climbed back on the wagon & treadmill.)
It is encouraging to see that 'blasting' away on the activity level makes an impact.
Everyone up & movin' this morning!!!
