Spent the afternoon visiting friends at a cheese shop and a winery. Unfortunately, I indulged at both places. We are having ribs, red potatoes and green beans tomorrow. Sort of basic, but DH has requested I make a chocolate cream pie. I just hope everyone else pigs out before I have a chance at it.
Nicole, I haven't had my Wii Fit out since we started, maybe I need to, to help drop the pounds quicker.
-
Okay claiming vacation BUT I officially stink at ELAB maybe I would be great at ELAP. So we are home from vacation tomorrow and at ne point I weighed myself during vacation and I was back to 152 but the french fries that I scarfed done I am sure are not helping me. This week I will be back to calorie counting for a week to see if I can get the scale moving. I did go bike riding before we left so I did at least exercise. Oh and one day we went canoeing and I got one heck of a workout. My back was sore the day afterwards and kept cramping but I had a blast. It was so much fun
. Now I need ti do a ton of gardening when I get home along with spring cleaning from the last 2 years. I am a little behind and it is time to get everything done
I know I will be gaining at the end of the month and then I will lose since I am having stage 2 April 29. I am just ready to get it done and start the healing again. -
Jimieh, what are you having done in your Stage 2? I had hoped that when I had the fat grafting in November that it would take a little more fat than he did. I didn't lose an ounce!
-
Jaimieh- I am glad you had a great week! You sound like me, steady Eddie, at least you are out there enjoying life... hope the second surgery goes smooth, I heard it is easier than the first... share with us how it goes.
Meece- Sounds like a WONDERFUL day, well worth it even if you did not lose a lb!
Night lades!
-
Sheila you can join us anytime, how about one o"clock

Happy Hippity Hoppity Easter to all my supporters at E-Lab.
I had to make mashed potatoes with sour cream, butter, and bacon last night and I am so proud I didn't even lick the spatula (: I intend to have only protein and a little carb (veggies) today but if anyone brings a coconut cake I am SOL!!!
-
I ate more than usual but have done a ton of yard work and walking so I hope it won't be to bad on Friday's weigh in. Hope everyone had a wonderful EASTER!!!! Got to see my future hopeful son in law play drums in the church band today. Awesome job!! Then my other two babies came over for dinner and movies. I made them watch Jesus Christ Superstar and they all thought I was nuts? Really Mom??? Fighter jets, GoGo dancers and machine guns?
-
LOL!!! PauldingMom on watching Jesus Christ Superstar!!! :=) had to laugh a little
sounds like you had a great Easter.
OmahaGirl I hope no one brought over the coconut cake. If they had brought it to my house they would have taken it back home untouched because my daughter and I don't like coconut at all! Now chocolate on the other hand
!
Meece - if I could have went to the cheese and wine place I would have splurged to, so don't feel bad at all there just aren't any around here where I live for me to get in trouble with. :=)
Nicole - here's your pep talk: remember that bathing suit you want to put on and look "HOT" in for yourself while you're in Hawaii... (eat like a bird) no really use the 40 cal wheat breads, only eat 4 oz of proteins at b'fast, lunch and supper, do one vegetable at lunch or supper if it's cooked have 4 oz or raw 8 oz, have one fruit a day and have it at lunch. If you go out to eat at fast food get a grilled chicken and only eat the bottom of the bun or at Arbys get a junior roast beef and eat only the bottom of the bun (I cut the bottom in half and put them together to get a half sandwich) and order a side salad where available with low fat dressing to replace fries. Drink 64 oz of water a day, only have one 8 oz diet soda a day, the rest of the time use sweet n low in unsweet tea or crystal light. No whole milks, you can have dannon carb and sugar control yogurt. This is not everything, but it's a start to what I have been doing on the diet I'm on. The biggest thing I have to do on the diet I'm on is portion control, like 1/4 cup cooked whole wheat pasta, 1/4 cup brown rice, etc.
Happy Easter and weight loss!!

Well I stopped at 4 BBQ ribs, a few fingerling potatoes, but 3 deviled egg halves and apiece of chocolate cream pie! I know, shame on me. I will work hard this week. I have another test on Wednesday, and when I think about that I sort of lose my appetite, so maybe that will work in my favor.
-
Meece today was Easter.
Its not considered sin if you ate some especial food. After midnight local time we stop.
Meece...Good Luck with your test Wednesday. Do you have to take a long trip like last time?
PauldingMom...you always make me laugh. I remember the time when I first joined your group
in July 2009.
Tomorrow will be another summer like day here in NY. Im planning to take full advantage of it.
Jaimieh...Finally I figured out what ELAP meant. LOL
-
Always, another 130 miles one way. I scheduled it for the late afternoon, so I will only moss three hours of work, but that mean driving home in LA commuter traffice. UGH!
-
The only 'sweet' I had this weekend was a smoothie I made for myself today. No candy, if I don't buy it, it ain't in the house to eat! I was 146.2 this morning, hope I can do well this week. I have my 3-month Onc check-up tomorrow, I always weigh more there, why is that!?!
Happy trails this week, ladies!
-
Valerie..You know why by the time we get there we had coffee or another liquid drink.
We are dressed. And their scale for some reason it shows more.
Don't forget as long as you are using your own thats the most accurate one.
I had some cheeze-it snacks a small package today.
-
Valerie, perhaps you step on the scales in shoes as well.
-
My DD's friend visited today and brought me a little box of chocolates - I thought it would be rude not to open them and let her see I appreciated the thought!! I ate 4 - it was the first chocolate I ate in months. My DD gave me a mini box of 4 chocolates for Easter but I didn't open them - yet and DH gave me a little packet of candy coated chocolate drops (something like chocolate M & M's) but I haven't eaten them yet - they are in the 'fridge. I've been E-L-A-B for over 8 months now - when does it get easier???
Hope everyone did ok during chocolate open season!!!! Here's to us all getting back on track and limiting any damage done!!!
-
I have two of the six See's chocolates left in the box. Never should have opened it, or I should have opened it in front of others so I would share.
Please tell me it gets easier!
-
Meece I wished it got easier! I have wanted to eat some of my granddaughters chocolate Easter candy soooo badly, but I haven't! I did eat about a 1/4 cup of lime sherbet tonight. I have a horrible sinus infection and the worst sore throat ever which is why I ate it. It helped while I ate it, but after I finished my throat is right back to killing me again. I've drank a ton of coffee today trying to cure my sore throat also. Nothing seems to help.

Is it possible to eat too much fruit.
And not loosing weight.
I cut the mango twice a week.
Do you measure your fruit intake?
-
Im sorry you are not feeling good Renee.
-
I need to join this group! I don't mind eating salad but I'm looking for a low cal salad dressing that doesn't come from the store. I hate all those preservatives. I thought there was one that used orange and lemon juice? Maybe with yogurt?
My weakness is mayonaisse or sour cream so I need a tanging substitute.
Any ideas?
-
Balsamic vinegar maybe?
I use EVOO and regular vinegar.
And plain no fat yogurt with everything.
Sheila
-
Thanks!
I had forgotten about balsamic vinegar
-
Balsamic Vinegar is my favorite lo-cal dressing.

http://www.healthalternatives2000.com/fruit-nutrition-chart.html
Nutritional values of fruits etc.......
-
Sheila ~ LOVE that fruit chart!! I bookmarked that & will print if off for easy reference. How'd you find that?? Smoogle it??
Had one of those WW Smart Ones peanut butter cup desserts tonight. Sweet tooth was getting one up on me & I had to give in or go crazy! Those desserts are great, that is my fav.
Still 146.2 this morning on my own scale, no clothes, before vitamins & LOTS of water. Yeah, clothes & shoes along w/fluids add to the weight at the Dr's, you are right Sheila. I did see the nurse didn't have to go past the 150 weight, so must have shown 140 something. I didn't ask, they don't have digital the way my ob-gyn does. Next time think I'll weigh myself fully dressed on my own scale before I leave the house to compare w/them.
-
I googled nutritional value for Mango.
When I saw this one. I thought of us and copied it.
I didn't know how much nutritional value most fruits had.
-
I'd eat more fruits except they make me hungry an hour later. Must be the carbs? I guess this isn't true for everybody?
-
Ainm- I caved on Easter. But I don't feel horrible about it because it was chocolate covered stawberries.
Janeluvesdogs_ Smart balance has a fat free sour cream. It's good but not great for cooking as it breaks down differently than
I try and keep fruits down to one a day. I've switched from fruit juice to veg. juice. I've started adding asparagus to my veg. juice. It's suppose to stop the reoccurance of B.C. Took a while to get use to the taste but now I look forward to it.
-
Ooh, I forgot the huge chocolate covered Strwberries I ate at the winery Saturday.
Oh, my, my feet look pudgier already!
