    Hi Meece weighed in today at 165 today.  I didn't do the best while we were on vacation... LOL!! But when we got back on Tuesday it was back to the drawing board.  I'm back on track.  I actually lost the 2 lbs from Tuesday to Friday.  Wink Actually it was a little more but I am having some water retention.  Gotta drink more water.  O.k. I've complained enough.  Hope everyone is doing great with their diets.

    161...1 lb lost from last weeks weigh in.  I have been battling some poor me's and frustration with limited 'no soy' choices...was whining to DH today and he said 'well if there is only a small amount of soy, shouldn't you be ok?' and of course I snapped back 'if I eat 20 things with just a 'little' bit of soy it adds up to alot!'  I just wish I really knew how much soy really impacts tamoxifen cause there is no getting away from it. I think soy is even in bird seed...

    How was your day, Meece?

    Had my usual wheat cereal this a.m., salad w/broccoli & tiny bit of dressing, handful of baked Southwestern potato chips (gottta have something crunchy with FLAVOR, instead of bland crackers) for lunch, rotisserie chicken breast for dinner. Splurged with a WW dessert. Lots of water. Oh, had some blueberries & a banana for snacks.

    Well, I feel a bit better today.  Still feel like a pot ready to boil over in tears.  I went in an weighed right after dinner 167.8.  That wasn't the smartest time to weigh, but at least it wasn't back in the 170s!

    Well on top of all else I now have a miserable head cold.  I don't have chicken but lots of beef bones so I will make some vegtable beef barley soup today.  I got two new garden magazines yesterday so won't be doing much but drinking lemon honey tea, reading, resting and drooling!!  (over the garden books)

    Weight 177 or 178 depends on how I put my feet LOL but lets say -2 lbs. Whew finally I would have had a cow if I gained again...I ordered from a low carb wholesaler and I am prepared to do battle! I can't wait to be in the 160's god I can't believe I have so far to go to reach 140Frown but I am in for the long haul.

    Okay I went bike riding today which was fun for me and the kids.  I look like I am 3 months pregnant today my belly is sticking out so far :(   It only has until the end of April and then I am going to take the easier way out....PS here I come (I am going for stage 2 anyway :) )

    HI, all!  I'm still eating well, so I hope by next weigh in I will have lost one more pound.  I cant wait till I'm in the 170s.  But the only thing that is working against me right now is lack of movement from recovery.  On Thursday I will be 4 weeks out and am supposed to have unrestricted movements, but my dear sweet hubby treats me like an invalid, so I basically just sit around all day.  Clean a little here and there, but that 's it.  I wonder if I'm behind in recovery because he wont let me do anything.  But my ROM is good...everything is good except my stomach is sore and I do tire easily.  Geez...I'm only 38 years old and I feel like I'm so much older!

    Ladies - I found a great book Eating Clean by Tosca Reno that really helped me get in control.  Lots of great common sense information and advice on heating healthy for life.  She also has a cook book (or two) and a exercise book.  I have them all!   I feel much healther and of course slip up occasionally.   She has a website.   GOOD LUCK to you all!

    Well this morning I stepped on the scale sans clothing.  166.8.  I'll go with that, but after a day with family and a big party for Dad tonight, I doubt it is still down there.

    OK birdies.

    Today is a supreme challenge. Our neighborhood is having it's monthly potluck this afternoon.

    Last month I literally went off the "deep end."

    Everyone brings their best carb&sugar delights.

    I seriously went crazy.

    Now I am attempting to truly make better choices.

    Have already walked the treadmill for an hour, burning 321 calories according to machine.

    Wouldn't it be great if I could look at all those piles of amazing goodies and select like an informed, educated, rational, thinking adult?

    I don't expect myself to eat-like-a-bird in this setting, but it would be awesome if I could keep myself from eating-like-a-water-buffalo-on-an-insane-binge.

    Anyone wanna take bets?

    My will power has never been great, but I am honestly going to take all of you with me into that room. Feel free to smack my hand, as I go down the buffet line.

    I will keep picturing your latest pic, Meese, with your socked toes covering the numerals...... as I make my selections. (That has given me my few honest laughs of the weekend: thanks!!)

    Sorta did okay this weekend. I did ****{{SIN}}**** have 3 cupcakes. I made them for my DH & I just could not resist, I just couldn't. I had no one to slap my hand, no one to hold me back. I did not allow any of you in the kitchen with me & look what I did. I accept complete responsiblity for my actions. No one to blame but myself.

    On the good side, I weighed 147.2 Sat & Sun morning each. Wish it would have been for last Fri, oh well. Have my work cut out for me this week to keep it there or go lower.

    Congrats Meece & hope you had a great weekend. Love the scale/toes picture!

    Hi all!  Checking in.  Valjean I wish I weighed 147!  Soon...soon...hopefully by my Disney trip in October woohoo!  Just a little longer and my hubby will let me move around and go shopping again, etc.  I am so bored and I feel like my butt is growing bigger every minute!  I'm eating the best I ever have in a reallllly long time, but the lack of exercise is definitely working against me.  Oh well!

    Im not even gonna talk about weight and get excited until I go down to 159.8

    I cant or wont go out for a walk today because the rain coming down like Niagara Falls.

    Cake I was wondering too if the doc had you on limited movement. We have all had different surgeries and treatment so it's hard to guess why? I have three adult children and a DH and during treatment they would have loved it if I just sat around, but I insisted that they let me exercise even if it was only simple Yoga. I made it very clear to them that they were actually hurting me by trying to keep me still. But I only Foot in mouth had a lumpectomy, node removal, chemo. and rads. so my surgery recovery wasn't very long. You might want to explain to him, as soon as doc. gives you the okay, that exercise/diet is one of the best things you can do to help yourself fight this crap. Having said all that, I hope I didn't sound to harsh. Being triple neg. means diet/exercise is the ONLY thing I have to fight this crap called B.C.

    Now I need to admit, I was a naughty girl once this weekend. Shame on me. Back on track today and I did manage to work out and do yard work over the weekend. It was the dieting that I stunk at.

    I've got a BIG vacation coming up in June so I've got to drop these pounds for that reason too. I don't expect to fit into a bikini or anything but no one wants to see a back fat.

    Do any of your spouses/kids work out with you gals?  My daughter likes to do Yoga with me and we joke through it and have a blast. I just ordered a DVD from DVDswap.com (great site) to learn some ballroom dancing with DH. I'm thinking it would be fun to learn and give us something to share. Chemo-pause has kinda killed some of the other activities we like to share.Wink BTW thanks for the advise MimiKiss

    Pauldingmom--you didnt sound harsh at all!  That is some great advice!  When I had the lump/rad, I was on my feet and doing everything the whole time, but with this DIEP surgery, I'm not supposed to do too much...short walks, no driving, lifting, etc. for 4 weeks.  My hubby is taking it very literally.  But I did get out today and went food shopping and to Walmart, woo hoo!  I had so much fun.  But now my stomach is  very tired.  Maybe I'm not healing as fast as everyone else who has DIEP?  I'll be 4 weeks on Thursday tho, and I plan to put my foot down and do more stuff because I agree with you...this is something I NEED to do to get better.

    Sheila--it's my dear sweet hubby who wont let me do much.  But I should milk it while I have a chance, LOL...what do you think?

    And for all my ranting, I weighed myself this morning and I LOST A POUND, woo hoo!  So, Meece, when you get a chance, take a pound off the top, LOL!

    Way to go Cake! Stay focused and keep reminding yourself that you are doing this to fight cancer. Of course fitting into that cute top is just and added benefit!

    Off to plant some Marigolds with the kiddies I take care off. Yep, 5 toddlers and a pile of soil. This should be fun.Smile

    I am not a gardner... I hate it!!! But I do love flowers I just wish someone else would come plant them for me.  LOL!  O.k. Meece I have grandchildren, actually 5 of them Sealed  they range in age from 9 yrs to 6 months.  Smile  It's o.k. 2 of them belong to my step-daughter (however, we don't have steps in my family) only the ones you climb!!!  I'm very proud of them even at 46, but I wish sometimes they had come a little later when I didn't have to work all the time and could enjoy them more.

    My DH's daughter has a son, but she won't let us see him other than when we get together to give them their Christmas presents or at his birthday party.  We volunteer at the church nursery and care for babies from just walking to 18 months.  It feels like I am grandma there, and it feels good.  Again...someday we'll get to be grandparents.

    I am not looking for excuses, but I recieved this in an email this morning and thought I would share it:

    Oh, Meece, I love that!!!  I'm definitely passing that one on. 

    I'm having some big-time stress in my life right now, and I'm trying to keep from diving into the nearest bag of Cheetos.  I'm hoping a walk this evening will take care of my nerves.  Tomorrow should resolve some of the stress, at least for a week or so.

    Crossing my fingers for weigh-in tomorrow!

    CarolinaChick, you are planning on weighing in tomorrow?  I'm going to wait until Friday.  I need the extra day to at least break even.

    I wish you hadn't mentioned Cheetos.  I could probably polish off a whole bag today.  I go to lunch with a co-worker and she only wants to go to El Pollo Loco, and I am getting so tired of their food.  So I had two roasted drumsticks for lunch and some tea, that's it, so Cheetos sound yummy!!!

    Meece I love it!!  I have been bad though today, down with this head cold and cough, went to my PC got antibiotics, bought a bag of licorice while waiting for the script, ate too much of them on the way home.
