I am a Violet. That was fun, I was laughing so loud at some of the choices.
-
A snapgragon has a sense of humor and is a good friend. What did it say about violets?
-
It said "You have a shy personality. You tend to hesitate before trying new things or meeting new people. But once people get to know you, you open up and show the world what you are really all about."
I think that's pretty true!
I really like snapdragons! They are so beautiful.
-
I was a snapdragon also.
-
What fun! I had Dh do the quiz and he was also a snapdragon!
-
Blowin' up a gale, got branches and trees as big as my wrist coming down behind the house. Rain, Ran, Rain. Going to be a wild and woolly day!
-
I am a Daisy Meece very amusing site.

I am a daffodil, which in western society means vanity and eastern society means wealth and good fortune. So much for that! I rarely look in a mirror and as to wealth and good fortune, when does that start? Interesting that I found this under wikpedia:
Symbol of Cancer Research
Various cancer charities around the world use the daffodil as a fundraising symbol. "Daffodil Days" are organized to raise funds by offering the flowers in return for a donation. The Canadian Cancer Society was the first to institute Daffodil Days in Toronto in 1957. [16]
Other organisations to have adopted the daffodil as a symbol for fundraising include:
- American Cancer Society Daffodil Day
- New Zealand Cancer Society Daffodil Day
- The Cancer Council Australia Daffodil Day
- Irish Cancer Society Daffodil Day
- Marie Curie Cancer Care Daffodil Appeal
-
I think the reason daffoldils are symbolic of those fundraisers is that it is one of the first flowers of spring and respresents new beginnins.
I think we are making a beautiful bouquet here.
-
I took it this morning and I am a daisy. "You are just a sweet person. When a friend needs a shoulder to cry on, you are happy to offer yours with a box of tissues as well. Once in awhile, you wish you could be a little more dramatic but then sensibility sets back in and you know that you are perfect the way you are."
beautiful sunny morning, a few snow flakes last night in the last of the rain we got around 6:00 pm. calling for good weather through Thursday.

Such a pretty daffodil! 37 degrees here, anything that started to grow in the last two weeks is pretty darn sorry now! Keep the pictures coming, this virtual garden is giving me hope!
-
It is supposed to be a high of about 77 degrees today. I am starting to leave the doors of the greenhouse open so it doesn't get too hot in there. Planted another strawberry pot to give as a gift. Bought a purple tomato plant yeasterday, and a couple of neat parrot's beak plants. I will have to take pics and post them.
I have a pair of doves nesting in a hanging plant on my patio. It's so cute!!!
-
FINALLY. In the upper 70's today and 70 now. Supposed to rain tonight, but warm again for the weekend. All my trees are putting out new growth and my willow that we planted two summers ago have the most beautiful new leaves. I love spring.
-
I am fed up with the weather guessers!!! First of all on Wednesday it was supposed to be breezy but clear. Around 5 pm the sky clouded up with dark gray clouds, no breeze to speak of. The yesterday we were supposed to be cooler with winds of 25 mph and gust up to 75mph. Nothing. Just grey skies. I hate wind and was worrying all day what the wind would do to our yard. I wonder what they will say about the weather today.
-
28 degrees this morning. Frost all over everything. I wish mother nature would make up her mind!

Mid 40's this AM calling for highs upper 50's. Last night had some rain, called for thunder storms but not that bad. Also called for additional rain today but right now sunny and scattered clouds. My hubby sent me a picture of Ohio weather, they called for snow showers but nothing accumulating, the picture showed snow laying on the ground.
Called the roofing company Wed morning to see if they were working on my roof. Husband didn't know what was going on, said he would have his wife call since she does the scheduling and orders supplies. She called me right back to say when they went to pick up the shingles the end of last week, their distributor was out of the color I requested and had to be ordered. Her plan was to pick them up Tuesday when they got the next delivery and be at my house on Wednesday. She went to pick up the shingles and they were not on the truck, should be on Friday's truck, will be at my house first of next week. She also said that she would call me this afternoon after she picks up the shingles to schedule the day next week. Why she didn't order them the 4th when I told them I wanted them to do the roof is a question I probably won't get an answer for. She may have thought that their distributor would have them in stock but with quite a bit of houses with roof damage from winds and snow this winter, they may have low stock.

That's the truth ladies. I had safely tucked the word "snow" into an old truck until next year. It started raining last night through this morning. It is only 45 degrees this morning and the National Weather Service is predicting snow showers today with a low of 27 degrees. A couple of days from now they are guessing 60 degrees.
Sheila ... you are the perfect daisy - describes you to a "T"!
Suzette ... one year we had a freaking 80 degrees in the middle of February. Then, of course, it went back to winter. At the end of the 80 degree week the early flowers of spring started coming up. I warned them it was only a fluke in the weather and go back down. Those bulb plants can be very stubborn. Were they suprised the following week!
NM ... stay warm - actually stay in bed under the covers!
-
Got up in the 70's today. 69 now and will cool off overnight. We had thunderstorms last night and a bit more rain. Tomorrow is supposed to be so beautiful and we are going to the Scottish Highland Fair on the beach in the sun all day. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
-
I wish I could have stayed in bed today, but I had to go to a meeting for work. 2 hour drive, 2 hour meeting, mildly interesting but a total waste of my time. And COLD! At least the sun was shining and I could pretend it was really spring inside the warm car.
-
We started out cloudy today but the sun finally came out. It did stay cool though. Tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day.
This afternoon my phone was on the charger in the car while I was helping my son replace the alternator in his truck. I picked it up and saw I had a voice mail. I listened to the voice mail and it was Christy from the roofing company!! She picked up my shingles today, had them in the truck and they would be by tomorrow morning, before 9:00 am to start on my roof. I will have roof by tomorrow evening!!!! My hubby won't be home until late afternoon so he won't be here for most of the work.

I am off to Costa Rica today. My weather report will be HOT.
-
This morning it is 30 degrees. I am not amused!
Sheila ... finally! Whatever the economy does, it does NOT affect service providers. To patch the siding I called about 4 companies and all were so busy from all the snow. I made several appointments only to have them cancelled the day before.
Mary ... I'll drop by and go with you. It all sounds so quaint and fun.
Mum ... what time is the flight - I will be right over. Seriously, have the best time ever - you more than deserve this!
-
mumyan: beautiful picture! I wish I could go with you!
lvtwoglt: Hooray for new roofs!
kmccraw423--got you beat--it's 16 degrees here this am. I agree with you--NOT amused. At least the sun is shining and I have good hot coffee.
-
Frost on my car yesterday morning but warmed up wonderful, I opened up my front door to let the fresh air in the house. Good news - Yesterday morning Cindy came by with the Ford F-450 truck (really big dullie diesel) and my shingles in the back. Bad News - The crew was to meet at the local grocery store and car pool to my neighborhood, only one other person showed up beside Cindy and her husband. With only 3 crew members not enough to do the roof in one day, since rain called for today didn't want to start. Promised they would be here first thing Monday Morning. F-450 is parked in my small driveway where my Focus normally parks, now my car and my Hubbys car is lined up behind my son's truck. We have a variety of Ford vehicles in the driveway now, everything from small 2-seater 1982 EXP, 1992 Crown Victoria, 2001 Ranger, 2002 Focus, and the big F-450 truck.
This morning, 45 and light rain, heavy rain this afternoon.

lvtwoqlt--How disappointing! Still, progress has been made. You can hold thier truck hostage until the job is done! Won't make anything happen any faster, but it might make you feel a little better. .
33 degrees this morning, Snookie's water tub is half ice again. All the mud is frozen again. I am soooo tired of not being able to open the window and let in fresh air! I want summer!
-
NM I hear what you are saying about letting fresh are in, but it can be so full of pollen I can hardlyt breathe. ICE VS POLLEN???
Cloudy, 70 degrees and chance of rain today. Did yard work yesterday rather than the festival and it was wonderful. Got some sun on my body and pool is 78 degrees. Hopefully, we will be swimming on Easter weekend.
-
I opened my windows yesterday to let the fresh air in, I am taking Clairitin to keep the allergic reaction down. Today is raining most of the day, sun is trying to peak through the clouds. Native, my husband said the same thing about holding the truck hostage, he said that he would like a big truck but not quite that big and we don't have a big enough driveway to keep it here permanently
. The weather looks good for tomorrow until tomorrow evening hopefully they can get it done tomorrow. They are going to need to move some items next the back of the house to make room for the truck to get close to the house to make it easier to put the shingles they take off in the truck tomorrow.

Just returned from a weekend trip to Toronto with my Dad, Step-mom, DH and DS. It was a birthday trip for DS who turned 19 on March 3rd. It was darn cold there. I believe it was fairly cold here too, and am hoping the flowers that bloomed are still ok.
Hope Mum has a terrfic time in Costa Rica, I see she already left.
Sheila, I so hope your roof gets installed this week, it's been forever hasn't it?
Kathleen and NM, Brrr, all I can say is I feel your chill!
Enjoy the warmth to those who are in warmth. Our forcast for this week is, drum roll please, mid to upper 70s beginning Wednesday. So, we'll go from winter to summer and then probably have a few more winter days at the end of the month but I'm so happy with the forecast of 70s.
My first post diagnosis mammogram on my left breast tomorrow (no breast on the right so no mamm). I'm confident I'll make it through just fine and pray there's nothing on that side that's "popped up". My first cancerversary is coming up next weekend.
Have a good week everyone.
-
suzwes--here's praying you have a calm, uneventful, unstressful mammogram!
