... Susie.. on ANY page here you can just go to the top and re-read Traceys original post. It has all the new updated hotel info...
Lilah.. my hair grew about 4 inches in 14 months.. ( from bald to 4 inches. Then I went off Herceptin.. and now it is growing at normal speed. Hair grows 1/2 a month normally.. Hang in there... you'll have an AMAZING pixie style in Oct.
I am not sure how long I will grow mine.. I feel too old for the really long locks I once had... I think I will just keep it medium and updated..:)... play with some color soon....:)
-
Laura,
HAIR you ARE.....
-
Linda -- LOL
Laura -- thanks
I am just happy to have any hair right now. I didn't seen any signs of growth til I was 8 weeks PFC (so I was starting to get antzy). Before I did the buzz cut (which I did just before it all fell out near the start of chemo), my hairdresser who happens to be a BC survivor cut my hair to about oh 4 inches or so and it looked SO CUTE. I could not believe it. I've had long hair all my life. It was like she was giving me a preview of the me to come.
-
Laura : HAIR YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY !!
Jancie: Sorry to hear about your BIL and that you are being bombarded all at once. Doing all this cleaning up and reno work is a great way to get exercise but try not to wear yourself down - stay healthy and I'm sending prayers for all of you.....
Terri
-
Brain scan clean...I'm a very happy sister right now. Thanks for your encouragement, thoughts, and prayers.
Hugs--Karen
-
Karen!!! Wonderful news.
Janice - wow, hang in there lady. You need to find time to ride for your sanity!
Okay - for us newbies....what the heck is the Piano Bar all about?
-
THANK YOU JESUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMGOSH I am in such a good mood today and NOW I am in a Euphoria state of happy Karen... AMAZING to hear.. Thank you for posting... L.
-
ATTA GIRL KAREN !!! I'm so relieved to hear that your scans are CLEAN...
We HATE DIRTY scans... JUDY
-
Woo hooo Karen!!!!!
Jancie so sorry about your BIL...hang in there.
-
Sorry about your BIL Jancie...you and your family are in my prayers
Wahooooo Karen....that is great news
Journey....all I can say about the Piano bar is that by the pictures I have seen from 2009..it looks like thay had a H**L of a time...I cannot wait...
-
Thanks for all of the well wishes. They are doing more tests on him locally and then those test results will be sent to Sloan or Mayo for final determination and options of treatment. That is when BIL has to make the decision to come here. We are getting ready for him but not telling him. In other words I don't want him to feel bad that we are spending so much money and time making this place just right for him.
Journey - Regarding the Piano Bar - there were what 5 or 6 of us that closed it down at 3 in the morning and then walked for 1 hour back to the hotel. We all arrived as a group but then a couple of groups left leaving the die hards behind! Piano Bar or Bust as far as I am concerned!
-
Laura - Yeah for hair!!
Karen - Yeah for all good news!!
Hugs ladies! Kathy (Fairportlady) and I will be deciding for sure on LV after her surgery (exchange) on Friday. We'll let you all know soon.
Love to you all! - Jean
-
JANCIE.. YOU are going to be a BIG help to your BIL. You are taking on a lot.. and for some reason.. after meeting you.. I bet you can handle it... and take care of BIL in an amazing way!
Ladies... don't let our DEAR party animal Jancie ( hehehe) scare you... the Piano bar was amazing... BUT there were a few of us that went back to the hotel at midnight ish.... lol... then those wonderful others... left at 3am...hehe... hm... this year I won't feels so bad and will be out of ALL TREATMENT... maybe I will pull the 3am... ( hmmmmmmmmmmmm)...LOL
PS.... JANCIE... you got my SIGN girl???? " Ta Ta Sisterhood sign"
-
PS JANCIE... if you have the sign... you KNOW YOU have to be the first one in Vegas like I was last year..... You will need to land by 8-9am Friday...
-
Thank you for all you love and support. I just got my grades both A's! Clean scan, A's, I'm going to bed, it has been a stressful week!
Janice--Thinking of you, your family, and your BIL.
I think I messed up and school starts the Monday before Vegas, so I will probably come in late in the afternoon on Friday and have to leave on Sunday. I cannot wait to see you all with my own eyes!!!!
OK--off to bed, yes it is 7:04pm. I have to rest up for Vegas.
Hugs--Karen
-
JAZZY.. where the heck are you?
I want you to know.. along with others I have spoke with... we are PRAYING for your result to be AOK. Seriously, I am lifting you up . I will be at work all day Thursday... so I will not see your post.. I will be praying for you though and wanted you to know this and wanted others to join me.
-
KEW- that's great about your scans! Such a relief to have that stress gone from your daily life.
Janice- thoughts are with you..........having your home routine upended is stressful. Hope you can find some quiet time each day, even if it is just for 5 minutes to do some deep breathing helps.
Ladies- you all sound like you are heading to Vegas tomorrow :-) It definitely sounds like the Vegas trip includes some serious bonding, and emotional healing. I am trying to figure out if I can some how make the trip. I also have a breast friend LOL! that I met during radiation and she is thinking about making the trip as well. I just really don't like to be away from my son for more than a night. Plus, I don't have family nearby, so would have to rely on friends to take him in for the weekend..........not complaining, just explaining :-)
good nite
-
Jazzy--Hope you are having a good week. Thinking about you and joining Laura in prayer. You are amazing! Let's try and get together soon.
Hugs--Karen
-
Congratulations on your clean scans, Karen! What a wonderful feeling that must be - I'd be going to bed at 7 pm as well...
And I'm happy that your hair is growing back, Laura and Lilah - you both are so adorable and you must be thrilled that you are getting back to your old selves.
Jazzy, sending my best wishes to you!
Kristen

Jancie ~ You will need to go to Vegas to get some rest. Might need to take a nap on top of that piano . . . .
KEW ~ So glad to hear the good news on the clean scans!!!
Laura ~ They didn't say anything to me about the room locations when I called, just that I was part of the group.
Seriously, is it time to start packing?????????
Colleen
-
Oh wait, I can't pack until I find a new bathing suit. Don't want to disappoint our cabana boys . . .

Hi Ladies! I just found your group, and was wondering if I could join in? I live in Las Vegas and would love to come meet up with everyone at your 2nd reunion?
I've finished chemo, and I have my BMX - no reconstruction, this next Tuesday, March 30th. Then radiation, then ovaries removed. But, I hope to be in great shape by the time you are here in Vegas!

LADIES, OUR LIST IS GROWING. THIS YEAR PROMISES TO BE A BLAST!! NOW WE NEED TO MOVE ON TO SOME GROUP THINGS THAT WE SHOULD DO. THE PIANO BAR IS A GIVEN!!!!!!! ANY OTHER THOUGHTS LADIES???? WE WILL HAVE A BRUNCH TOGETHER AT SOME POINT AND WILL "MEET AND GREET" FOR DRINKS ON THE ARRIVAL NIGHT. OTHER THAN THAT IDEAS ARE WELCOME!!
