Michele~ I still have my ovaries but from what I have heard that is a much easier surgery.

    Kerry~ BTDT= been there done that :)

I am here in Florida and I have been fighting a headache for the past week.  It comes and goes and at some points is bad, in addition my back is hurting so YOU ladies all know what has been going thru my mind......grrr.... It doesn't matter that in the last week I have been moving boxes and that the pollen count is REALLY high.  My mind just immediately goes to the worst :(

I was hoping to get back out running while I am here since the weather is nice (70's) but today we went to the park with the kids.  They had a blast and looked like they have never been out.

Awww Jaimie, that is a great photo! Sounds as though you are having a lovely vacation. Sorry about the pain - I constantly have something I am worrying about - all my aches and pains make my mind "go there." I am absolutely sure yours are just from regu lar stuff, but I hope they go away soon for you.

Bev - good to hear your curls are doing you some good! I really don't mind mine that much, it is just I look so much unlike "me", and also it would be a lot longer if not so curly. I still haven't had a cut, but thinking I maybe will soon.

Well, we've had a cold snap, it was 9 F this morning....brrrrr. Froze on my walk - I was going to have a run this morning, but too cold. I have my Onc appt next week and it is starting to overshadow my mind....it is on April 1st, and Angus is getting much delight in how my Onc could play a really mean April Fools Joke on me.

Anyhow, hope everyone has a tremendous weekend!

Oh Kerry Angus is being cruel...lol...  Thanks for the photo love.  I just wish the background wasn't blown.

I think my headache is letting go finally.  Now I just need to get moving but it is going to rain here :(

Rosa, talking to doc is good idea. It sounds like restless leg syndrome. Why it decided to start after chemo is beyond me.

Jaimeh, I think your kids are adorable! Bethie, you look adorable, too!

Once again I tried walking/running. A have had joint aching, but not more than usual. I think it may be something I need to get used to. Chemo fried my ovaries and I am post menopausal. Arthritis runs in my family. Sigh...

Jamie - Gorgeous kids.  Glad to hear the headache is lifting.  I hate the mind games aches and pains bring more than the physical pain.  I had a bad cold when we were in Cuba that started out as a bad cough for quite a few days.  I felt bad that I was actually relieved when my husband, Tim started coughing.

Keep on with the running Cheryl.  It has gotten much easier for me.

    Take Care Everyone.

B~ Deported is when they take it out :)  You will be so happy that you have a port...or at least I sure was after I cried about it.  I didn't like the looks of it BUT I loved it's purpose.  It really helped save my veins.

I know that deported is when they take it out.. I was just wondering on the surgical procedure for when they do take it out... my vains are so small and wrecked... I can't even get iv's with out them going bad the first hour or so... I don't like getting myport accessed cause it hurts even with ice... it's not like a hurtful kinda hurt... more of a big pinch... but it still hurts.

B~ Sorry, yes it is another procedure unless the person removing it does it in their office.  I have heard that in office just involves some local to numb and then they remove it.  Honestly ask for some Emmla cream and your port will not hurt like it does with ice.  I used ice 1x and my port area ached for at least 2 days with the emmla it didn't ache afterwards at all.  ((bighugs))

I am going to be deported during another procedure.  So I am cheating a little :)

My surgeon took out my port during my 2nd mastectomy.  I was THRILLED!  I 2nd (3rd!) the recc that you need EMLA.  I used to put it on (thick layer) and cover it with plastic wrap (a small square taped on) before I left the house to go to chemo.  I forgot to use it exactly 1X... that was enough to never forget again.  It is available generic and is dirt cheap.

    Hey sisters!!!

I was deported today!!!!  It's a simple 45minute-1 hr procedure then you are in recovery for an hour --then homefree.  I'm personally feeling no pain!!!!

    Furies,

Hello from the BCO drop-out.  I don't know when my last post was--I just know that one day, months ago, I had a meltdown.  Felt like BC was totally sucking the air out of me--all I thought about; couldn't make myself log on.  I was missing everyone, but almost went into a denial phase.  Anyway, I'm trying to grow up and acknowledge that IT did happen, I survived it, and I can move on (at least until the next onc appointment on April 12).  In the meantime, I've dealt with a steadily rising alkaline phosphatase level, had liver u.s. and bone scan.  Seems o.k. just don't know why my level is going up.

So, am going to spend some time reading posts...love to all.  Helen

Helen- denial is not a bad place. The only good thing that BC has brought to me is meeting this lovely group of women. Besides that it has brought me nothing but pain and heartache.

Kerry- thinking of you. Thinking a nice wuick visit for you.

I am in Florida ;) having a blast. I found and went and saw a house down here and I WANT it....and I mean bad ;). My DH went and saw it and it is just wonderful, perfect price, location and only needs a cleaning BUT he needs a job here....sigh....

Helen:  I never meant to 'drop out' from BCO, but like you, sometimes I look at the link and just can't click it...this is the only forum I visit...back in 2004 I was here often, but eventually, most people drop out as their lives go on and they get busy...

Kerry:  have a good appt today with your onc.  Hope you're getting the same awesome weather we're getting here in Michigan, it's gonna be a great weekend!

Bethie:  you have lots of hair!  looks good : )  glad you got your port out, must feel good.  I never had one, though, so can't imagine what it was like

Jaimie:  you sound like me....would love to move somewhere warm, with palm trees, it's my dream : )  Have a great time!

Last day of school today, get to sleep in for the next 10 days YAY!!  I love break, love having my son home, he's such a sweetie...hope he doesn't change too much as he enters his teens this year, lol....

I'm off to mosaic, then buy Easter candy...hope someone is having a good sale!

Well, I am home, all looks fine, she did a bit of an exam, then she said "I'm glad you are well", which is good, I guess. I hate these appointments, I feel a bit deflated now, to tell you the trurth.

Apple - thinking of you today, hope all goes well with your sister.

    Have a great Easter everyone!!

Hi!! I wanted to post some pictures of Rosa's buzz party. She wanted to get her hair off before it fell out on it's own. (Remember that?) We had a great time!
