    I am Innocent.

    I have been good.

Some days I find it more difficult to watch my intake.

I am not giving up. Time to have a tall glass of water.

I would do a lot better if DH wasn't helping choose the meals.  He took me to Subway today, but being the bargain hunter, chose the foot long sandwich to split with me, and he chose Italian BMT.  Yes I could have take the meat off my half...but didn't.  Shame on me.

    I moderately sinned tonightEmbarassedSealed

My neighbor sent eggplant Parmesan down didn't have a lot of cheese, if I only ate 3 slices tonight and the rest tomorrow. Instead I inhaled the delicious thing. No Bread.

Tomorrow will walk more and even less than usual.

    Thank You for listening.

If we can at least put down our "sins" in writing it may make us more aware, so that we can make changes.

You guys are really helping me to stay on the straight & narrow, at least I am not falling too far off the track when I do. I know there have been things I would have eaten had it not been for coming here & posting my sins!

    Thank you so very much!

OMG - I got on the scale today and was up 3 pounds.  Granted it's most likely fluid retention but my goodness.  I like the idea of stating the sins to help keep on the right path.  Yesterday I met a friend for dinner and we had two appetizers (crab rangoons and spring rolls) AND two adult beverages.  Must stop.  Must stop.  Must stop.  Ditto Valerie - thank you for letting me post my sins ladies.

Fox news just reiterated that news report.  One hour a day, SEVEN days a week.  Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!

Actually Seyla, I'm up by 5:00 so lunch time is 11:00 here if I can get everyone to settle down. An avacado shell is just an avacado peeled, and sliced in half. Yum Yum! I love that green fruit.

One hour a day!!!??? I'll have to get up at 4:00! That isn't going to happen. I'll shot for 45 minutes a day 5 days a week.

I can't even get 30 minutes of exercise in each and every day...there's no way I'll ever get in an hour!  But since that was for women who aren't dieting, maybe it doesn't apply to us?  I hate to use the D-word, since I'm hoping to just eat healthier and not actually diet.

My co-workers took me out for lunch yesterday and I ate a grilled chicken pita, which was one of the healthier choices, but I did partake of a few french fries - not so healthy!  I've managed to stay away from the leftover birthday cake, but I'm still up a pound.

I guess I'll head outside at lunch and try to get in a walk!

Hey, can I join this thread? :)

I was 195 on March 8 when you guys started, then had the DIEP.  Lost 10 lbs from that and an extra 3.5 lbs because I have been trying to E-LAB during recovery.  So now I weigh 181.5.  No sweets, eating lots better.

    Yes?

    You're in.

I just did the hardest thing I ever do in my garden.  I thinned out plants.  I had oodles of brussels sprout plants, but they won't produce if i don't thin them.  So I did!  I find it so sad to destroy a plant.

I also planted my purple tomato plant.  Supposed to be higher in lycopene, I just thought it was cool.

Meece..I just noticed you keep our names in Alphabetical Order.Wink

I find it so fascinating the way brussel sprouts look like as a branch. I have taken pictures one Christmas holding the the tree or whatever you want to call it.

Im getting this potato that just discovered. Its called Yama Potato. I google it to find out nutritional value but I couldn't.

But I learned its a mountain grown potato from Japan. I love the texture of it. It tastes like roasted chestnuts.Skin is purple, flesh is snow white and when you bake it it turns bright yellow.

Sorry I got too excited about a potato.

Wow, that potato looks so cool!  We're getting ready to start our garden finally!  Gave it up for years because of having small kids, but now they're old enough to get involved.  I'm going to do green beans, peas, tomatoes, zucchini, asparagus, and herbs!

Just read about the plastic BPA and I'm freaking out about it linked to BC and other stuff.  Mostly freaking out about the canned foods!  I have tuna, campbells soup and tomatoes that now I'm afraid to eat.  Yikes.

Ate well today again woo hoo!  small bowl cereal in am, yogurt for lunch (in plastic container, ugh!) and someone made us lasagna for dinner while I'm recovering, so I had a piece, but not too big.  Very cool!

I was 1.6 #s more this morning than I was at the weigh in last Friday. OMG. I have to tell myself it maybe is because I have been working out more, one hour sessions, & I'm beginning to add muscle. It's the only thing that keeps me from freaking out!!! I don't like this....guess I need to E-LAB more!

Great to see you, Cake! You're doing great!

cake....sorry I wasn't ignoring you. Maybe this year I get motivated start a small garden.

It has to be small because the space is small but very sunny and the soil is very rich. I used to grow so many veggies. A even grew a cantaloupe one year.

Purple tomato and potaot look intersting, will have to look at them and see what i can find.  We grow differnt veggies every year, we grow a few purple cauliflower, the flavor is a littel stronger than the white, we really like the cheddar or orange cauliflower it has a very mellow flavor.  It is so much fun to grow a garden and try diffeent and fun veggies.  I grew some spotted pinto beans last year and this year and growing a herloom one called jacobs cattle, not certain in the nutrion value but all dry beans are good. Feeling pretty good so plan on working out in the yard a bit, trimming raspberries, roses and grapes if it is not too cold.

Bread questions.  I am working on a recipe for artisan whole grain bread, is all bread really bad for us or can we justify eating whole grain breads?  I use unbleached white non bromated flour, whole wheat, graham, spelt, and rye flours.  No fat, a splash of honey, water and salt.  I love baking and eating bread so am concentrating on making a wholesome nutritious loaf.  Any bakers please pipe in, maybe we can develop our own E-LAB loaf!!!

Started the day out well with 1/2 orange, oatmeal with raisins, almonds, walnuts and real maple syrup and milk.  Will see how the rest of the day goes!!!

I'm so excited, I didn't sin yesterday!!!  We'll see how today goes.  Carollyn I think that kind of bread is actually good for you - it's got the whole grains and you made it so know what is in it.

I wish we could have more than a flower garden but we live on 10 acres and between the bunnies, deer, and other little critters the veggies would be eaten as they grew - the fence around that garden would have to be about 6 feet tall!  The farmers market in town should start in about a month so I'll be able to get fruits and veggies from them until October.

I bought some whole wheat flour yesterday to make some whole wheat rolls.  We have family coming tis weekend, and both my brother and uncle are hypo-glycemic and don't eat white bread.  We are celebrating my Dad's 80th!

So, Sheila, if I make two trips to the bathroom tomorrow before weigh-in can you guarantee I will be down 3 lbs?  One can hope.

Wecome Cake, (Ummm Cake!)  Okay so I'm gonna try and think rice cake instead of regular cake.

This low Carb. diet I'm on is really knocking down my energy level. I actually think it's making me depressed. Along with the chemo-pause I often feel like crap. (sorry for venting) It's a vicious cycle, I'm mad at everyone and everything, then sad because I have nothing to be mad about and then mad again because I have no control over this. I need a pedicure or something to lift me up.

I broke down this AM and ate a big bowl of oatmeal with butter and sweetner. My doc. told me no more margarine, switch to butter. I do find that I use much less than I did with margarine. He said margarine was just softened plastic. Gross.

I'm not looking forward to weigh in tomorrow. Here's hoping that we all get good news when we head to the scale.
Going to see radiation doctor today for check up. She's a beautiful skinny blonde. I think I could take her down! LOL Unfortunately she is a sweet caring woman so I have to excuse to slap her upside her head.

Oh don't you hate thinning your plants? I actually got teared up the other day when I plucked the life outta my Roma Tomatoes. My poor DH is thinking I have truly lost it,,,,,,again.

Okay deep breath, piece of sugar free gum and move on.

What's everyones plans for the weekend? I won some tickets to the Theater in a silent auction so we might head out there. The place next door has a great Greek Salad. There's something to look forward to.
