    P.S.  I just realized we're on page 150.  I think that's kinda cool. Cool

ETA:  Haha!!  This post took us over to page 151; that's what you call ironic! Tongue out

Apple:  So sorry, you sure have a lot to deal with right now : (   Hopefully everything turns out good for your siblings.

Jaimie:  exercise??? what's that??? lol  Have fun, don't overdo at first...

Artemis:  sorry we beat you in gymnastics, lol....I didn't even know U of M had a gymnastics team....and I went there, lol.

My stupid eyelashes fell out again a week ago, but grew back quickly so I never really looked eyelash-less...but now they're short and stubby....wish they'd stop doing this already!

It's a gorgeous day here, but I need to retreat to the dark cold basement so I can finish the front of the guitar.  I'd give anything to have my mosaic workshop upstairs or outdoors (in the summer anyway)

As the 22nd comes near i don't want to do chemo more and more especially since i live by myself and have little family that would be decent enough to take care of me. I'm the independant kind, I don't like asking for help. Falling apart is the worst thing for someone in my situation. I'm a emotional wreck. I act glad but really i'm tore up inside. I know you all arn't therapist or my therapist in general and don't need to be dealing with my drama/problems cause you all have your own drama/problems, but I am tired of hiding my fears, and emotions from everyone i see. I'm tired of acting like nothing is wrong when everything is wrong. My coping mechanism with Humor only works when people is aound cause of my need to please others... I'm not as resilient as some may think. I feel like a clown with a painted smile on my face.

Oh, Rosa! This is the perfect place to let all the raw stuff out. We know how you feel. I know that the biggest lesson I learned with chemo is to ask for help! I realized that many people really wanted to help me, but didn't know how. They were so glad to know what I needed and to provide that. I needed to swallow my pride, be assertive and say what I needed.

I know other furies will tell you what they needed help with, but I'll say so too. I needed help with food prep. Bland food was the best. I liked oatmeal, red lentels and rice, cottage cheese...laundry and housecleaning help. Company, just their presence, no need to entertain me! I may think of other things, I'll let you know.

i really enjoyed applesauce and yogurt (sometimes mixed) while in chemo.. it was perfect.  I lost a fair amount of weight.. i just didn't enjoy any food whatsoever... except applesauce, yogurt and dry or dry-ish oatmeal.

One big thing for me was that sometimes I didn't want to talk to anyone, but it was nice that people were wanting to see how I was doing. So, tell your friends that you appreciate their calls, etc, but won't always feel up to calling them back.

I couldn't drink water - that is a common problem. I could drink Gingerale, it is importanty to keep hydrated. And I had a horrid taste in my mouth the whole time, hard candy helped with that.

It is OK for you to "let it all hang out" here, vent away.

Rosa~ I think at one time or another we have all came on hear and had a break down.  It's okay that is why we want you here.  If you need someone to talk to we are hear.... BTW~There is a program called cleaning for a reason that will come and clean your appt. I believe 4 times while you are in chemo.

I am exhausted and it's all my fault :(  I couldn't get to bed last night until after I took an Ativan.  I didn't want to do it but I was exhausted and unable to get to sleep.  I did finally go to bed about 3am but I had to get up with the kids this morning :(  I hope tonight that I will be able to get things back on track.

(((Rosa))) ~ you're never to apologize for venting here.  That's what this board is:  our safe place to vent and rant and fall apart when the real world just doesn't get it.

Jamie ~ I hope you're able to rest tonight.  It's awful to not be able to sleep when you need to.

Beverly ~ good to see you!  I hope to catch that episode of "What Not To Wear"; so far, a rerun isn't listed on the TLC website, but I'll keep checking.

Michele ~ Our very own "Featured Success Story" ~ w00t!  So proud of you and for you!  Maybe I should get that video and use my step for something other than a footstool under the computer desk. Tongue out

    Have a blessed evening, Furies!

Well, one more "bump" for me...I was to get Zometa tomorrow, but now I get to have a "redo" of a root canal on April 5th...does the fun ever end?  The only thing nice is that this gives me a bit more time to regain some energy from my exhange surgery two weeks ago...I do like the soft new girls, but experienced the blaahh's this past week.  (I personally think since I have worked full time through this whole journey, my body is just a bit tired...so yes, although I am working from home, I am taking it a bit easier :)

Congrats again Michele--you make us Furries proud!

    Glad to read everyone's updates!

Rosa--this is definately a safe place to come...

    Hi Rosa,

    Are you getting steroids?  I had a hard time sleeping while on them.  COuld you ask for ativan/xanax to help you decompress? Others like ambien.  {{{hugs}}}

I used to watch movies in bed, which helped me go to sleep. But for some people it keeps them awake. Same thing when i woke up in the middle of the night - instead of lying there worrying, I would get up and distract myself - whatever works (movies, video games)

Rosa~ I go thru the "need" for salty food.  Most of the time that I am having these "needs" my blood pressure is in the tank and my body actually needs something in the meet.  Sleeping as you can tell is still an issue with me.  It drives me batty and then I seem to get asleep and stay asleep on the days that I can not sleep in.  Today was one of those days....

I have 6 days until we leave for Florida and this weekend I am participating in a MOMS sale that is huge and I need to finish up all of the paperwork that I need for it......oh and tag all of the kids stuff that needs to go....So I have all these things to do and I do not want to do any of it....GO ME!!!  Tongue out  We have had such wonderful weather all I want to do is go outside and get my gardens ready, exercise and just play outside with the kids....  BUT I do this sale and I get rid of a bunch of stuff AND I get a good amount of $ back.  So I suck it up.........

Jaimie~ Have you ever grown cantelope?  I started seeds last week and Maggie was BEGGING for cantelope seeds... Anywhoo, I have a dozen or so plants of it now! LOL! I won't fit in my usual garden plot so I'm going to dig up another area... but, I have no clue what to do! Hills? Support? Any ideas?

Oh Michele I am a horrible gardner....no kidding...  but apparantly I had the best tomatoes in the area last year according to my family.  I would go to pick them and the tomatoes would be gone and then I would get a phone message that my mom or Aunt came and picked them.  My MIL went home with a suitcase full of them...lol...  I might try the cantelope this year.  Last year we did peppers, and tomatoes only because I was not in the mood and couldn't do to much.  The peppers took FOREVER to grow.  We have 3 acres BUT you would never know by how small of an area that my garden is in.

This gorgeous weather is just what I needed....feel a bit more energized and happier.  Actually found some garage sales today, but didn't buy anything.  Cleaned leaves out of the pond, my little fishie is still alive, so that's good, lol

Jaimie:  Florida, sounds very nice.  I've only been there twice in my whole life, lol.  Are you doing Disney while you're there?

Michele:  good job with the aerobics and article!!!  With my asthma, I can't do them anymore, but I used to when I was younger.  Walking is about as aerobic as I get, lol.

Kim:  you should be taking it easy, your body has been through alot.  It's nice you can work from home, is that a temporary arrangement?  How is your recovery going?

    Apple: how's the demolition going?

I'm off to bed, nite gals.

Judy we are only going to visit my MIL this time.  I would love to go to Disney again but we can't afford it this time.  We normally try to go every 2 years (my babies are spoiled :) ).

I didn't get much done in this stunning weather.  We had carpet guys come in today to put our carpet in.  Not sure if I mention it but we flooded 2 weeks ago so my normally messy house that can be cleaned up fairly quickly has all of our finished basement belongings upstairs at this time...= a big huge mess.  So I am thrilled that the carpet was done today so we have started moving things back downstairs again.  Then this weekend I joing the Moms of Multiples (even though I do not have mult.) yard sale and sell my kids clothing.  Last year I did it the Saturday after having Chemo. on Monday and it was the pits this year so far is much better.  The only problem is trying to get rid of the kids toys.  Tonight Larry my 4 yr old said "pwease Mommy don't get rid of my boat, I still really like it" so needless to say the boat is out of the pile...lol...

Alright I am up again late...I need to get to bed...

Garage sales already! Wow, Spring must be here! Isn't this weather wonderful. We are going to our first BBQ of the season tonight!

I had my second Zometa last night, and so far I am feeling nothing. Even went out for a walk this morning. She did take 4 (!!) tried to get a vein, but once she was in it was fast.

good morning everyone!  the weather is pretty here too.  Bradley is playing in a soccer tournament this weekend at Orange Beach.  I'm on-call this weekend so I won't be going. bummer.  The good news about that is that dh and Bradley will be out of my hair so I can get some cleaning done.

I'm exhausted this morning.  Bradley had a bball playoff game last night and we didn't get home till 9pm (late for me!).  The game went into overtime.  It was a great game. Unfortunately, our team lost.  The team we played has been undefeated for YEARS.  I'm proud of our boys.  A 2 pt loss in overtime is nothing to sneeze at!

Jack has a playoff game this afternoon.  I don't think I'll be able to get off work early enough to go.  However, if they win, I'll get to play in the finals tomorrow.

    Busy! Busy!

Kerry~ What you think afour the bisphosphonate/fracture study?

    Jaimie~ New carpet! cool!

Hope everyone is doing well.  I'm currently sucking down cup after cup of tea... trying to wake up!

Jaimie, that sucks that your basement flooded; with all the snow you guys had this winter, that must have been one huge mess when it melted in this warm weather.  I always had to sneak the old toys out when the kids weren't looking...they'd keep it all if they could!

Kerry:  How many Zometa's will you be getting?  I probably should've joined that trial, but honestly had forgotten about it and figured it's probably too late.

Michele:  It sounds like that was an awesome game, very close!

I never heard back from my gyn about my pap...my sister had cervical cancer years ago, so I am always a bit nervous about that, but a bit more nervous this time.  Is there *any* test that won't put us on edge these days???

Hope you all have a great weekend!  Our weather is back to "yuck", so it will be the perfect day to stay indoors and mosaic...and some cleaning, I guess, lol

Michele~ You didn't ask me what I think about the study but from what I read it was for people who were on the drigs for more than 5 years and I do not plan on being on the clodronate for 5 years.  I am still hoping to get past one.....I am having stomach issues with it.. :(  I hope you do not get any calls this weekend.

    Judy~ Watch your fingers...be careful.

So I do not have an idea of how much $ that I made today at the sale BUT I went with 4 bins of clothes, a ride on toy, a bouncy horse, a huge clothes basket of toys, a jogging stoller, a portable high chair and I came home with one bin of clothes.....So in my book that is success :)  The bins are empty and now I can do some more spring cleaning that I can do.
