Baby it's cold outside

Beautiful day today with some clouds highs close to 70. I spoke to my roofing contractor today, after I called 2 times, they said that they got caught up with another job this week - more involved once they got the shingles off more damage on the sheathing to replace. She appologized for not calling but they had been working late on that other job and was afraid to call late evening. She said that the insurance company won't let them work if the forecast is 30% chance of rain. Rain is called for Sunday and Monday, she said that they would get to my job Tues or Wed next week.

Suzette, my yard work involved doggie "build up" too.  Mine is an 85 pound german shepherd, so the "build up" is significant.  Not only that, but the Snookie-bombs are sooooo stinky!  I have a pair of old boots that stay outside all summer, just to use when cleaning the yard.  Oh, well, at least it's an excuse to be outside and not working on the computer. . . .

We had a 55 lb basset hound that I had to clean up after. When we first got her, we would walk her around the back part of the yard next to the overgrown area and didn't worry about cleaning up the mess much but with my dx of bc I knew I wouldn't be able to walk her (she liked to pull) so we put up an overhead cable run about 30 ft long that started next to the back door and went out to the storage building and ran along the driveway so I could just step outside and hook her up. After we started putting her on the run, I had to start scooping to keep that part of the yard clear, I never knew how much poo she produced until I started scooping it. It limited her range to the length of the run and about 10 ft each side. We had to put her down last August when she had back problems that took the use of her back legs but we still haven't taken down the cable run.

We are expecting 70 today and tomorrow but rain Sunday and cooler temps Monday.

Well, I went out and took a look around the back yard.  Ground is still frozen, nothing is going to rake up today.  It also doesn't feel like it's broken 60 degrees as predicted, in fact it's only 49 degrees now.  At least there isn't any smell yet. . .

Unfortunately no, food goes in one end - poop comes out the other end.

Ya, except with babies we're forced to clean the poopies up immediately!

Spring has definitely arrived in our area.  It is glorious, temperatures in the 70s, gentle breezes, just heavenly.

My sister (the one I live with) went to Kansas, where she once lived, to visit friends.  She left Thursday afternoon.  She just called to see how things were and told me it was snowing as we speak and they were expecting 3-6" of snow.  She asked if the same thing was happening here - not unless it can snow when the temperature is 75 degrees!

Sheila ... we have a Dutch Market in Maryland.  I looked really carefully at the quilts they have for sale and honestly could not tell if they were hand stictched they looked that good.  Stitches were the same size and straight as an arrow!  I believe when I go to my cabin in the mountains that I fantasize about I will take one of those quilts with me - with purple in it!

Up here in Maine we call those little froggies "peepers" after the little peeping sound they make. Ours haven't come out yet, not surprising since it was snowing again today.  Didn't stick, but still, it's been cold and dreary all day, and I've felt like crap all day.  The sore throat doesn't want to go away, no energy, and I am so glad it's break week and I dont' have to get up in the morning.  Now if it was only late enough to go to bed for the night.  . . .

Well, it may be spring by the calendar, but winter hasn't let go.  36 degrees, going to drop, rain coming in the afternoon, rain and snow coming tomorrow, a yankee clipper later in the week, yuck.  Cold, cold, cold.  I got spoiled with all the nice warm weather over the last week or two, should've known better than to let myself be fooled!  I suppose this is good weather for catching up on the house work.  I'd rather be playing in the garden, but realistically, that won't happen for anohter couple of months.  Blah. 

We've got sun today, currently 36 but we're supposed to get up to 49.  All of the snow is gone.  Hope you feel better NM.  The crud is still going around here too - dealing with a cough for four months now that gets better and then worse.  I think we all just need some warm weather!  Enjoy your spring break week.  Have a great day ladies.

In that picture Snookie is actually up in my easy chair, with her front feet and snout saying on one arm--she was watching me working on the computer and giving me the "I'm so neglected" look.  The funny thing is that the pic was taken about 10 minutes after we got home from an hour long walk! 

The sore throat is getting better, feeling a bit more energetic, actually getting some computer-based work done that I've been putting off for months, so the day isn't a total loss.  Temps all the way up to 44 degrees.  Blah.
