Still n bed, have yet to weigh in, but Congrats to Carollynn and PauldingMom.  A pound is a pound and the slower they come off, supposedly, the easier it is to keep them off.

Hi ladies, I absolutely need to ELAB (love the acronym!) but the shit is really hitting the fan and the only thing that doesn't suck in my life right now is.....(drumroll, please)..FOOD!   I know I need to get a grip on this behavior, but I'm afraid if I make the commitment to ELAB right now I'll be lying.  Can I just lurk for a while to hopefully get motivated?

Also, I start rads April 5th.  For those of you who have finished, should I even think about ELAB-ing while in rads, or is rads just so awful that you all know I'll eat pie the whole damned time and shouldn't even think about ELAB-ing until rads are over in May.  So, maybe starting to ELAB in end of May or June 1st?  So much for summer cuteness.  Again.

Also, went bra shopping yesterday - I seem to be at a size 42 now, and well, after surgery brought me down to something like a B (or less?) - they don't seem to make cup sizes that small in bras that big!!!!  I don't want to wear sportsbras for the rest of my life, so I definitely need to get the eating thing under control.

5'5" and probably somewhere around 185. (Edited to add, OK I weighed myself. 186.6 - eek!)   I "should" be 125, but would be reasonably happy at 145 right now!  Hell, I'd be happy at 165!

    Thoughts?

Meece, have a great birthday weekend!  Can I eat my birthday cake tomorrow and then eat some more to celebrate yours on Monday?

Weighing in this morning at 153.  Another one bites the dust!

    HAPPY ANNIVERSARY PAULDINGMOM.

I will eat my oatmeal with blueberries and go out for a walk around 12.

Carollynn I echo Sheila's post, glad surgery went well.

    Happy Birthday to Carolina Chick.

Safe travels, enjoy family time, birthdays and anniversaries this weekend to those celebrating and remember and enjoy the sin exception rule!

I'm up a pound this week (my goal is to stay around or a little under my current weight as I go through my first year of Menopause and Femera - I've struggled with 30-40 pound weight gains/losses for about 25 years - not good to go up and down like that continuously!).  It's either the cookie/pizza sinfulness, water weight, or the same issue that Mimi and Sheila had - guess it's miralax for me todayFrown  You ladies inspire me so I'm really going to try to avoid the sweets this weekend!

Thank you, CarolinaChick and Seyla for the birthday wishes.  Back at you CarolinaChick.

Sweatyspice, let me know when you want to join the list.

CarolinaChick, you can have your cake tomorrow, but nobody ever does cake for me, so I won't have any to share.  Even yesterday at work, they had the monthly birthday celebration, and I have had the day marked for a Dr. appt. for over a month, but they went ahead with it.  Last year the only other person with a birthday this month was gone, so they postponed it until she could be there.  Oh, well.  There's a chopped up piece of cake in the breakroom, if I want it.  Not interested.  Happy witht he two pound los this week, but don't feel any smaller, darn!

I am stressing over news from the dr. yesterday and so want to eat food, but if I start I won't stop.  Meeting Mom and Dad for lunch, so I have to think of something reasonable to eat.

Welcome sweatyspice. I didn't have a problem with Rads, I had plenty of energy the entire time. Of course, I did not have chemo before. I would say it depends on how you feel. You might just breeze right through it like I did. I was not trying to lose weight at the time, my weight gain came from this Aromasin I started in May of last year. You just need to be sure to eat healthy to keep up your strength to stay strong during tx. You could try it a little bit & see how you feel or just wait until you finish. Some gals are more tired & have less energy & should eat a little bit more to compensate, but try to stay away from the sweets-my weakness. Those do not add nutrition, only calories we don't need.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Meece.  I'm sending cake your way...it sounds like you may need it.  I hope your news isn't anything too serious and that you enjoyed your lunch.

This cake doesn't appear to have any calories, but it's quite festive.  Feel free to enjoy a piece!

Happy Bday to all the bday girls!  I was so anxious to get a weigh in, I came home for lunch to do so... and I weigh 168, right where I started! Why is it so hard to stay on task with my weight, I belong to the best gym in town- in fact it costs $ 170 per month for the family and I am embarrassed to admit, I have not been in some time... last time I was there was for lymphedema massages!

Anyway, post my number Meece, perhaps seeing it remain STAGNANT will be motivaton in itself.

Perhaps I will go for a night swim with my girls tonight!

CONGRATS to all you woman seeing progress... this is great.. I guess if there is any good news for me, my scale is not getting higher numbers!

Good job Meece, your numbers are declining!

I am a little bit - well quite a lot actually - surprised.  I'm down to 170.5 that's 2.5 lost and considering I seemed to be yoyoing up and down (mainly up) all week I reckon I just got it on a good day and I could be up again tomorrow - but today is what counts for the top of the page!!!

    Now to the important stuff

Shortgirl Have a really great weekend with your son and family.

Carolinachick Have a really good birthday tomorrow.

Meece Táim beagánín luath ach Breithlá Shona dhuit i gcóir Dé Lúain seo chughainn. (Apologies to others but Meece is an amazing linguist - she'll figure it out!!!)

Carollynn79 I hope you have a speedy recovery

PauldingMom Happy anniversary - what a special occassion.

And to the rest of you lovely ladies - have a lovely low cal weekend!!!

Michelle...Don't get discouraged, it takes a while to get use to E-LAB mentally.

    I was 173.4 when I first started this on December 2nd, 2009. I lost 10 pounds then I gained 3.

Finally this is the first week I actually started losing again.

    Hugs to You.

I weighed in this morning at 153.9 so I am down some from last week but up from the beginning.  I think I figured out why though AF came to visit. I have been running around the last couple of days getting ready for a MOMS group sale which finally started tonight and will finish tomorrow.  I am exhausted but it is a good thing and I get rid of a ton of junk in my house.

I can see this is going to be a challenging week, I have enough strength to cook and so decided I needed pecan rolls yesterday, good thing is I was full after supper and did not have any, they will be good for breakfast with yogurt.  Better stick to soups and better for me dishes this week!! Got my crocheting out too to keep me occupied.  We have lettuce planted in a pot in our potting shed and we wil enjoy a nice fresh salad tommorrow!!!

Welcome to the newbies and the lurkers.

Made my "triumphant" return to my life, already in progress.

Surely 6 hours of singin' and dancin' is worth 1700 calories?? And I have NOT opened the m&m's in my suitcase: SERIOUSLY!!!!!

Morning All!  Since I brought up "belly fat" a few pages back, I stopped by to say I have been walking a little more and my waistbands are feeling more comfortable.

Also, came across this relating to belly fat, losing inches at the waist, and cardiovascular health.  It is your waist to hip ratio.  You divide the measurement of your waist (above belly button) by the measurement of your hips.  A number below .8 is desirable for women (.9 for men.)  The whole idea is that this mid-section fat is not just blubbery on the outside, but surrounding our vital organs on the inside, and that's not so good.

I don't know if individuals are keeping track of inches lost, but I thought I'd pass along this formula for overall health.  Going to look for my tape measure and see how I do.  BRB.

O.K., my ratio was .78.  Well, I still want a pound or two to come off both my waist AND hips, so I'll keep at it with the walking.  I kind of like tennis, not that I am any good at it.  That would burn a few more calories.  I'm a naughty little sugarholic, so I have to stay active.
