Anyone starting chemo in Aug. 08?

Jeaninne, sounds like too many Drs and not getting together as a team! How confusing? I don't know that I would trust the old surgeon just yet. Is he the one that told you that you didn't need a BMX in the first place? But I have to say, I hope that he is right about this! Praying for you now.
Gail, sorry I missed you! Hope everything went well.
Ali, how did it go with your daughter? Hope she's healing nicely.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! It's so beautiful here!

Jeannine I am so sorry you are having to go through all of this.......I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers daily! Ali has to have surgery on her right ankle - she tore the main tendon and the legiments around it........how the he** she played on it all freaking season is beyond me and her doctor!!!!! She goes in March 23rd - she is nervous of course but I will be right by her side....... Thinking of everyone on this rainy day in Ohio!!!! Loves to all............

What a blessing Jeannine to know that the Lord is putting His stamp on your life!! Are you back to stage 1??? We love you and continually pray for you Everyone in my church knows your name and I continually bring you up before the Lord. I am doing pretty well. I still believe I am on the placebo..That is okay. I also switched from Tamoxifen to Arimidex. Today I have a tube down my nose into my esophegous to see if I have acid reflux. Had an endoscopy because I continually gasp for air when I talk but was relieved to find no cancer there. Alibug, We will be praying for Ali. It must be very painful. I am also doing physical therapy to see if I can use my arm again. My reconstruct left me with a frozen shoulder. Doing really well and love you all, I really miss Bette so much sometimes. Hoping to hear from Roya, Karen, Kimberlynn... Hugs, Corinne

Hello everyone,
Deen: Yes it is the SAME surgeon I've had and have to see because of my HMO plan. But I'm not going to see him anymore. I felt very apprehensive to see him and awkward since I could hear him discuss my case to other staff. How unprofessional. He is a good surgeon but pompous. My DH says he's on the defensive because he knows he messed up. I still haven't rec'd results from lab. Ugh!
Thank you Alibug & Corrine: Alibug: Big prayers for your DD's surgery. I'm sure it will be okay. Poor thing! Corrine: No I'm not Stage I (sure wish) but I think more Stage III. That's why I MUST stay in the PARP trial for as long as I can. Sure wish I was getting the drug. I'm just afraid they're going to kick me out if indeed I've got a seroma. I'm waiting on the CT which will be in 2 weeks to see. I really miss Bette too and her daily blogs. Glad you're doing well.
Tomorrow Cycle 3, TX#1. I must say it is near impossible to get an appt. w/my Dr. coordinated w/my TX. Maybe this is a good thing?
Wish me luck girls.

Oh, Jeannine, I just can't believe the confusion on what's going on....but what I do know is that you are handling all this in such an inspirational way..I'm awed! Just keep focused and don't let the weird doc get you sidetracked. What matters is the correct information and moving forward. You are doing so great. Prayers for you from the desert! Would love to see you in May, of course!
Corinne, what's this gasping? And your shoulder, too? That's too much. Really hoping you recover from all this fast. Bet your horse is looking forward to cart weather!
Deen, I will be back is a couple of months - my brother is getting a small house built and I'm gonna help plan. Great surfboard! Or is it a paddle board?
Alibug, I'll be thinking of you & your daughter on March 23, of course.
I think of Bette often, too
Hugs for everyone!

Hope all of my BC sisters have a great weekend....We are getting ready for Ali's surgery....I know she will be fine!!!!!! Loves to all....................

Corinne, I hope you are feeling better. I didn't know all of this was going on with you? Have you found any answers yet? I have been on Arimidex since June. I get a little achey in the joints, but I try to keep doing my walks and workouts so it doesn't get too bad. I checked out a great book at the library called "The Breast Cancer Survivor's Fitness Plan". It has exercises for every different type of surgery, and like me, the frozen shoulder problems that come from the MX. Some great information for all of us. I'm going to buy it now.
Gail, I hope we can get together soon. Good luck with the house. We have a little cabin in Matagorda and some of the family leave their toys there for us to play with!
Unfortunately, our waves are not really big enough to enjoy the surfboard, but they're fun on a boogieboard!
alibug, Ali's going to be fine! Prayers go out to her and your family. She'll be back to her sports in no time!
Jeaninne, I hope everything goes well for you this week. No SEs!!!!

alibug ~ Ali is in my prayers. I'm sure her surgery will go beautifully. I'll be sending you both strong, positive vibes on Tuesday, as well as prayers for her surgeon. Kids are so amazingly resilient when it comes to these things, and I have a feeling she'll breeze through it. What time is her surgery scheduled?
Gail ~ Tried to call you on Friday to see if you wanted to catch some of the tennis tournament with me after I scored some last-minute box seats. Sorry I missed you! Maybe you were even there (tennis), although I suspect you were out riding.
Jeannine, so glad tx #3 is behind you! Remind us how many you're getting this time. And have you spoken to your UCLA onc yet about that whole confusion re. the seroma??? By the way, I will be @ UCLA (Westwood) next Thursday afternoon, seeing Dr. Festekjian (my PS), and also meeting with their Integrative Specialist, Dr. Mary Hardy, to talk about diet, supplements and prevention. Any chance you'll be in LA that day? Otherwise, I'm still looking forward to seeing you out here in May.
Corinne, I also had no idea you were having shoulder problems after your surgery. I hope the PT is working. Are you able to ride your horse with that going on? I can't imagine you could even saddle him with a frozen shoulder. And what's with the gasping for air? Is that a possible symptom of reflux? What did the tube test reveal? Gosh, I hope things are looking up since you posted a few days ago!!
Hello to everyone else! We have been having unseasonably warm weather here in the desert this week. It actually hit 90 one day, and has been in the mid to high 80s the others. Deanna

Well girls Ali's surgery is scheduled for 8am tomorrow morning! I know she will do fine but please keep her in your prayers!!!! Weather here in Ohio has been WONDERFUL!!!!! I have lost 21 lbs so far but still have about 20 more to go................I already feel soooooo much better about myself and I know it helps my health too!!! Jeannine - so glad #3 is over............Hang in there we are all here for you!!! Corrine I too didn't know you were having shoulder problems.....I hope the PT is working also!!!! Loves to all...........................

Hey everyone,
TX#3 went well. Was tired over the weekend (and constipated) but nothing worse Amen.
Deanna: I just may be in SM on Thursday but I'm not sure yet? They keep moving my appts. so I'll let you know tomorrow. I'm going to hold off telling my Dr. about the seroma just yet. I know it's shady but I want to have my CT and results first and then discuss w/my team. I also want to complete 4 cycles. I'm so afraid to get kicked out.
Alibug: Your DD is in my prayers for a healthy quick surgery. I know she'll do wonderful. Kudos to you girlfriend on shaking off those lbs.! I myself have started my exercise plan. (My arthritis in my rt. hip needs it). Keep up the gr8 work!
Just to let you all know, Corrine was has been great to update me on Lisa (Hugs). I spoke with her today and unfortunately she's been struck with another brain tumor (small) that has to be treated w/ a painful Gamma knife. Since she's also a TN sister so I'm trying to get her into the PARP study. A researcher told me they've just approved expanded access for another 1500 patients nationwide. They've already petitioned the FDA for approval. Please keep her in your prayers.
Have a great weekend!

Just checking in to see if there was any news on Ali??? Praying all is well with her!
Corrine - I'm so sorry about your shoulder & hope it's feeling better. Do you have scid reflux issues too? I miss Bette too!!! I HATE cancer!!!! Did you see her DH had a children's library dedicated in her name?
Jeannine - Hope you are feeling well & how is Lisahugs???
Take care sisters! Joyce

Hi all, I am doing well. My pt therapy is really helping this time. I have the opposite shoulder something going on???? Had an xray yesterday ...did not find out the results. I don't know the results of the tube down the nose thing either. They say it will take another week or so.
Lisa will be back online soon and be able to update everyone. She was in the hospital this past weekend.
Jeannine: Hope you are feeling better...YOU are such a blessing and inspiration!! I love you!!
I posted on Bette's facebook this week. Yes, I do know about the children's library. If she can see down from heaven she knows we all miss her!!
Alibug, how is Ali?? We have been praying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love and hugs to all.

Just thinking of you all.
Things going well with me, just aches & pains generally from the Arimidex probably. If anyone is taking it - have you found a good drug supplement program that doesn't have a giant gap of payment - this is really going to get expensive about August!
Glad you are doing better Corinne, any riding?
Deanna, I just left a phone message for you.
Jeannine - You're doing great. Thinking of you!
Love,
Gail

Gail, I get my Arimidex from a Canadian pharmacy. My onc had no problem with that. I paid 390.00 for one month's supply here at Walgreens. Almost had a heart attack!!! ( I have a big deductible) Looked around the internet and I got 3 month's supply for 145.00 at Canadian pharmacy. It is a generic, which should be coming out in USA in May. You just have to give it about 3 weeks for shipping, which interestingly came from Germany.Hmm? Hope this helps.
Corinne, hope your results are fine. Thanks for updating us about Lisa.
Hood, good to hear from you!
Hope Ali is bouncing back now!
Everyone have a great weekend,
Deen

Hey girls!!!!!! Ali made it through with flying colors!!! She was a model patient and is being really good at home too......I am shocked but she is following the doctors orders and is feeling really good!!!! My hubby broke his foot and 2 toes on Wednesday so I have 2 that are healing!!! LOL Glad I am feeling good and am tough enough to handle all of this at 1 time!!!!! They both have been very appreciative to me and Gunner cause he is having to help me out with the both of them!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!! Loves to all.............
PS - Corrine - praying for good test results to come back for you!!!!!
-
Thanks Deen, could you PM me the web site for that Canadian pharmacy?
Alibug, wow do you have your hands full! Take care of yourself, too!
Corrine, praying for great results for you. Rode through a carpet of desert flowers yesterday and thought of you!
Love to all,

As of last night, I'm officially a Gramma!!! This is what surviving was all about for me! She's just perfect in every way! I had to share this with my beautiful chemo sisters!!
Deen
-
How thrilling, Deen! So happy for you and your family! I'm off to Facebook to see if you have a photo up yet. Probably too soon, but I'm going to check anyway.
Alibug, how's Ali doing?
Misty, are you coming to Palm Desert this year? Let us know!
I was @ UCLA last Thursday. Met with my PS who suggested doing a tad bit more surgery. He's after perfection that I don't think I really care about at this point, but I told him I'd think about it. I also met with UCLA's Integrative Specialist to talk about diet and supplements, which have always been very important to me. I got way too much information to share in a post, but if anyone has any pressing questions, I'm happy to share in a PM. One thing she feels strongly about is no alcohol/wine, which increases our risk of recurrence by 10% for 1 glass/day, 20% for 2 and 30% for 3.
Happy Easter to everyone! I hope this will be a time of hope and renewal for everyone ~ Deanna
-
Deen Congratulations on being a Grandma!!! You are so lucky!!! Please PM me your name on FB so I can see grandbaby pix! Boy or girl???
I'm also having surgery next Tuesday, so please keep me in your prayers. I'm having my saline implants replaced with silicone ones and some revision work done too.
Happy Easter everyone!

Hello everyone!
I hope everyone had a great Easter. I did. Was with family & friends and had a great brunch.
Deen: Congratulations on you're being a new grandmother! How beautiful. I have to check your FB for pix. What's her name?
Deanna: So sorry I didn't get back to you last Tues. I actually have my appts. on Wed. not Thurs. but it's been hard to get appts. w/my Dr lately so I've met with the clincial professors. (Still very thorough). My WBC were too low so I couldn't do TX..I was off last week so let's see how this week goes. I was supposed to get the shots (not neulasta) to boost my cc but haven't. Had CT today. Wish me luck that I'm clear..but don't want to get kicked out of the study.
The alcohol consumption is a challenge for me because I love my wine. I try to only enjoy on the weekend and not more than 3 but that's probably too many..I'm working on that! Can you PM on other tips UCLA gave?
I was off today and it was a gorgeous day. Walked my 2 dogs or had them walk me!
Ali: So glad Ali is healing well. Wow and now hubby has broken foot? Whoa..
Thinking of all you (& Bette too)

Hi everyone,
It's a beautiful day here and I plan to enjoy it! Hope everyone is doing well.
Hood, hope you are healing well.
Jeannine, my GD's name is Bailey Renee, and she is gorgeous!:) I try to keep my beers or margaritas down to the weekends, and only on special occasions. I don't want recurrences because of drinking.
Have a great weekend!
Deen
-
Hello all,
Oh Deen that is a beautiful name. You all must be ecstastic! I'm sure she's gorgeous like her Grandma!
I hear you about the drinking and am vowing to cut down..also on my sugar and fat intake! I'm on a mission to lose 15lbs. then another! (Trying to get my sexy on)!
Oh did I mention that my hair is growing girls?? Yes! I was supposed to lose it but haven't yet and I've had 4 TX's. (Just had TX #4 Wed...so far so good). My WBC went back up but Dr. still wants me to get booster shots. Prayin CT is good.
Have a wondeful weekend all!
Love, Jeannine
-
Hi Everyone,
Hey, Deen, I'm thrilled with the news of Bailey Renee - what fun that is! I've had non-stop visitors at my house since Easter - including my 2 year old GD Penny Rose!
Wow, Jeannine - a sexy body and hair growing, too! Glad to hear it.
Deanna, thanks for the UCLA info. I'm working on consuming less wine so thanks for the reminder.
And my news this week- I'm headed to the Philippines to visit my son & his girlfriend who are there temporarily. THEN, I'm off to roam Southeast Asia, specifically Vietnam mountain trekking, sailing on a Viet junk and exploring the Mekong delta. Just the kind of adventure I love! I may be out of touch after April 21 as it is an open return ticket and so much to see & do. Will try & post if I can. Much love to all in all our life's adventures!

Good News everyone!
Clear scans!! Yes...I just ret. from UCLA to get my nupragin shot and Monica my research co-ordinator just gave me the news. She couldn't get confirmation on the pelvis area but the chest, breast, heart, lungs and abdomen are clear. Amen! Now don't if this means I'm kicked out of the study yet? Need to discuss with the Dr. It's almost like I don't want to believe it. God is great.
Gail: (That is my pic from my 1st wig) Needed to change my avatar. Have a wonderful safe trip to the Phillipines. Have some okoy & pancit. & Asia too? Wow. You go girl!
I'm ready to enjoy life to..It's been a helluva 2 years. Now to really get on w/being healthy. I read some UCLA info on cancer survivorship and you're right Deanna..the alcohol, diet, processed foods, plant food & excercise has to change in our lives.
Have a great week all!
Love Jeannine
