Yes Tanasha,..I knew you had told me it but I had forgotten and could not locate the email. I don't think the other ladies knew your real name. Would be so great joining us for the delegates dining room. Please let me know for sure as I know one must make reservations. We will take a tour prior.

Patti.Great that you too will be coming to meet all of us.

I am so happy that all are happy with my itinerary. I believe that at the Museum ( saturday morning) I should be able to get all in for free. One less thing to pay for.

    Hugs,

    Francine

I am so thrilled all is coming together.

    Hi all,

I am so sad today. My dad went into the hospital last Monday, with a very sore back and generalized weakness. They did lots of tests, and it turns out that he has acute plasma cell leukemia with multiple myeloma. They are giving him only 3 weeks - a few months to live. It has been a very tough week, and I think it will get only worse. He started chemo today (Velcade), and if he does well, they will give him Cytoxin on Wed, Velcade again Friday. Then if he does ok with that, they are looking at another 4 drugs in a constant 4-day infusion.

I had to cancel my trip to NY, which is making me sad as well. I was really looking forward to it, and to meeting all of you, but I really need to help my mom and dad out at the hospital, and I would never forgive myself if he passed away while I was gone. This was the 1st time I used Priceline's "Name your own price" feature, and I got 3 nights at the Warwick for $175/night. Of course that means no cancellation or refund... but I called and explained, and they said they would make an exception if they get medical documentation.

So please, if you have time, pray for my father to have strength and peace. His name is Richard DeKing, and the more people I can have praying for him, the better.

Sorry to have to cancel. I hope we can plan on something again in the future.

Yes Beth tomorrow is my exchange. They called yesterday and made me the first surgery. So I have to be there at 6 am. Happy to get it over with...Thanks for the positive thoughts.

I am so ready for this. I am not all that concerned... I even just bought Broadway show tickets online for Friday evening. I guess I am an optimist.

Please wish you a successful surgery..and an infection free recovery.

Francine - thinking of you, and hoping the exchange is going well!!

CCbaby- congrats on being deported. Yay!

All - thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. My dad had his first chemo Monday, and tolerated it well. He will have another Friday, and another next Monday. They are holding off on the Cytoxan until his kidneys get a bit better. He has bedsores already, we are working on that.

Dayla- congrats on how much you have accomplished already on the AT! Way to go!!!!!

Priceline was super nice, and allowed me to cancel my trip, and refunded most of my money. The customer service was outstanding, and so caring over the phone. I will definitely be a customer for life!

Hugs to all, and thank you once again. I will try to check in at least once a week to keep you posted.

    Janine.

    Hi Ladies,

All went so well today. I am just tired. The most amazing thing is that I am in almost no pain. I can actually get in and out of bed. Am I thrilled. Also my new breast feels soft already. That TE felt like a rock. The PS decided today to put me on a heavier antibiotic. He spoke with my Infectious disease doctor yesterday.Fine with me. Yes I had two PS's operating once again. Am I a lucky girl. Also no drain. Yeah. Friday I can take a shower. The PS put on a binder to keep something in place. I posted a question on the Reconstruction board where many smart ladies are.

Janine..WE will keep your dad in our prayers.Glad he  tolerated chemo so well.

Dawn, Patti. and especially Janine ..thanks for the good wishes.and Pickle of course

Dawn good luck. Are you having an exchange?

I think I am finally approaching the end of my tunnel and the sunshine.Notic the phrase at the bottom of my posts.

Hugs to all and thank all so much for the caring that you show..

Francine!  I am so happy to hear you are pain free!!! good luck woth your new implant!!!!

I am a whole different case!  My implant is coming out. I had one put in at my exchange last Jan, when they found my second Ca, all it has caused me is discomfort!!! It dropped down so it hangs out under my bra is very hard as it is under muscle, and causes me muscle spasms!!! My left breast is gone and not reconstructed, I use a prosthesis on that side and look forward to using one on the right after the implant is removed!! My Docs think my discomfort comes from my assymetry, so this should help me!  I am loking forward to it!! the port doesn't bother me one bit I have it flushed monthly and use it for bld draws, but my BS and my Onc want it out before I develop a clot or infection. So out it comes, I hung on to it for a year thinking I may need it again, but I don't need any more trouble so out it comes on the 30th.  Please don't doubt your reconstruction because of me!  I wished I had a beter result, but I think with my second Ca my whole situation changed!!! Hang in there and I wish you all the best!!! thanks for the good wishes!! Dawn
