Hi ladies,
Quiet day on the board.
One week from today will be my exchange. I can't wait. This will be my eighth surgery on my breast but hopefully my last.
We are hearing from those meeting up with in NYC and are so excited.
Janine and Nasharayne (What is your first name? ) what hotel are you staying in?Would you like to meet up with all of us for a nice dinner on Saturday evening. We will probably eat more casually on Thursday and Friday evening but you are definitely welcomed to join us.
Hugs,
Francine.
-
Francine: I am so excited for you to get your LAST surgery next week. I am sending up extra prayers and positive thoughts that this will definitely be your last.
I am thrilled that the plans for NYC are coming together...Yeah! So looking forward to meeting everyone.
We are staying at the Edison Hotel in Times Square. Anyone else who needs rooms please pm Francine so we can make arrangements.
Hugs

I'm in, you know! But I don't think I'm going to stay at the hotel if I can hang at my sister's place. I just can't afford the expense and still go anywhere. Maybe if I share a room and it's inexpensive I can swing it for one night.
Patti, I definitely can still drive you up there. I can go after school on Friday. What I would like to do is park in Hoboken and take the PATH train into the city. I've done it many, many times, and once I did it with three 13-year-old girls at 12:30 in the morning. I can drop my bags at my sister's and then help you with yours ... assuming my ribs and shoulder heal by then. And then we'll come home on Sunday, if that's okay with you.
I am so excited about this! I wish money wouldn't have to be such an issue.

Frances, your trip looks like it was fantastic! And congrats on having your last fill next week.
Chris, I am glad you had a fun trip, too
Brain is failing, I can't remember what other comments I wanted to make.
I fell down on Tuesday. I knew as I was falling that I wasn't going to be able to stop it, and that I was going to hit hard. I'd gone out for a run, but ended up walking after a mile because I was dressed too warmly. But on my last loop around my block, I started to sprint when Funky Cold Medina came on the shuffle on my daughter's iPod. After a minute I was ready to slow down, but apparently my right foot was not. So I got a mild concussion, a serious shiner, bruised ribs, and a bruised shoulder. I could work, but my eye is too ugly. It hurt to turn down a good sub job for tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to work on Monday.

Hi Girls
I made it through surgery great and I love the results. The surgeon rook out my port, so now I have been deported!
-
Hi ladies,
Christy..great to hear how happy you are with your new breast. Congrats on being deported.
Michelle..Sorry to hear about your fall. I am sure it is not something you need now. Your plans are fine for NY.
Now we must find out of there is anyone who is available to share a room with Patti..
Soon we will tel all about our plans.
Still waiting to hear anyones suggestions but I do have some great ideas for all.
Hugs,
Francine
-
Michelle you poor thing. Good on you for exercising, though. I really need to get on and do that.
Christy - hooray for being deported, and I am so glad you are happy with your result.
Hello to everyone, and much love to you all in your exchange surgeries and hair growth and holidays and NY plans and all the other wonderful things we are able to concentrate on now chemo is in the past. I feel really really busy at work, which is good, of course, but I really want a holiday and we can't afford one any time soon. Still, as I approach 31 March, which was my chemo start date last year, I feel incredibly happy.
-
Christy: Great news....glad you have a "perky" happy ending to all this!
Michelle: So sorry to hear about your fell. It is amazing that with everything we've been through that the goofy stuff still happens to us! We should have a pass for all that stuff. Hope you heal quick!
Where do you pick up the train? I did it before and can't remember where I parked my car! The train took me right outside the door of the Hilton Milenium Hotel. It was easy and much cheaper for parking!!
-
Michelle: OUCH! Soory to hear about your fall. Glad you didn't break anything. Must have been a good song and your body still wanted to get is's groove on! Heal quick.
Rachel: You and I started chemo the same day. I'm gald you are feeling so happy...me too! Isn't it wonderful!
Christy: That's fantastic. I am so happy for you. I can hear your excitemnt in your post.
Chris: Looking forward to seeing you in NYC!
Francine: Thank you for making plans for all of us. I really appreciate it and it's so nice to be meeting up with someone who knows the city so well.

Hi all - definitely can't afford if not sharing a room. Hope all have a great weekend.
-
Chris,
What are you doing about a room here in NYC. Are you coming with a friend?
Hugs,
Francine
-
Patti: If we don't have enough people to all double up then I can change one room to a larger rone with two doubles and a pull out sofa. This would easily accomodate three of us. I have done this a couple of times when I have gone away with friend. No worries....it is easy to get a larger one.

I am still nailing down my friends. My sister is coming so far. checking with my other sister and 2 friends. Should now today!
Francine...have you seen the prices for the Hilton in Times Square? They offer $199 each night and do have group rates (5 rooms). Just an idea!!
Chris
-
Hi all,
O.K. The Edison sounds fine. My sister has stayed there and says it's pretty nice.
Beth (pickle).. I'm having problems with trying to pm you. I wanted to find out more about what I need to do about the hotel... so let me know what's needed of me.
Thanks all... My back is killing me.. getting off this thing to try to recoup...
Have a great day.. (raining here... (sigh))
Beth

Oh, sorry.. almost forgot. I'm flying in on US Airways.. arriving at La Guardia at 3:25 pm.
I can wait around for you. No problem. We can take a taxi to the hotel.
-
Hi ladies,
Bethr ..seems like things are getting in place.
Beth..You are so sweet to offer Patti to be in your room. I bet it would work out great.
Chris. The 199 rate sounds terrific too. Where did you see it. I do not see it on their site for our weekend.
Looking forward to meeting all.
Wearing green today for St. Pats day as I am driving into NYC to meet some BCO ladies at an Irish Pub. Not a bad way for a Jewish lady to spend an afternoon.LOL.
Will check in later .
Hugs,
Francine

Hello Ladies,
I had my last herceptin on Tuesday and I will be deported on the 31st. It doesn't bother me but, I don't want to keep anything related to last year.
I am staying at the Hilton Times Square. When you guys nail down the plans I'm sure we will meet up for something.

Anyone interested in a comedy club on Saturday night? My husband and I went to one the last time in NY and we had such a great time!!
Empire State Building, Rock. Center, 5th Ave, Central Park, Southstreet Seaport, Battery Park, Little Italy, Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty, Museums....what is everyone looking to do?
Can't wait!!
Hilton at Times Square has a cancellation fee after 12:00 noon on Thursday. Hotwire also has some great deals and some places let you choose your bed arrrangement before booking.
Michelle...I think I park at the Harrison Path station. It was under $10 a day to park my car. What time do you think you will be getting on PATH?
Chris
-
Christy, I forgot to congratulate you on getting deported! Yay!
Chris, I don't know how to do anything but get to Hoboken and park. I don't even know many of the street names, but I know how to get to the PATH station there and then look for street parking nearby. I can usually find free parking.
I can't leave my house until after school that day. My boys are off from school, but my daughter, who has to watch the boys, has school. She'll get home at 3 pm, and I can go the minute she walks in the door.
A comedy club sounds great! All the plans sound great
I'm just excited to get to see all of you!

MEET, GREET AND EAT..Tentative Itinerary
It does seem like our visit to NYC will be here before we know it. I think it is three and a half weeks away. Can't wait to meet all.
I have been thinking of what we should do. I do not want to force anyone to do things which they are not interested in. So I will draw up plans and one can go with the group when she wants and at other times just meeting up at breakfast and dinner might be great.
On Friday when only a few are here ..I will go with the two Beth's and anyone else..Nash, Diane..Janine..on a tour of the United Nations and then lunch at their Delegates dining room( no jeans here) . We will also see on that day Grand Central Station, New York Public Library..Fifth Avenue and my favorite Lord and Taylor to shop. Since most are coming in on Friday I thought we might meet for dinner Friday evening at an inexpensive BBQ place on 42cd street. I was thinking that 7 or 7:30 would be good.
Saturday we could all meet for breakfast. Then begin our day.I was thinking of starting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I am familiar with the place and could guide all around to see only exciting things in a quickish fashion. I would not make it boring. I then thought we could go down Fifth Avenue and either take a carriage ride or continue further and go up the Empire state building.-Depending on the time we could take the subway and then go on the Staten Island ferry. A great way to see NYC harbor. For dinner I thought of a nicer restaurant in Times Square where we could all meet and then go the a Comedy Club.
Sunday ..I am not sure when all are leaving .. We could go to the Village, Chinatown or whatever... or just sleep and then go for a nice brunch. We must talk.
Hugs,
Francine

I have two rooms with double beds booked for April 9-11

So here I am staying after work to use the computer - to busy during the work day with, you guessed it, WORK.
Beth - The tripling up sounds great to me. I will be tagging along with Michelle on Friday, or I can contact Diane about the train.
