Baby it's cold outside

Suzette, so glad you made it home and had an adult beverage to help you get there. Welcome Nancy, weather is a great distraction of the things we all endure. Most of us just love weather. We made it to South Carolina in the dark, It was a good trip. 46 degrees here tonight, so we will NOT play golf in the morning, too cold for us. We saw blooming dogwood and forsythia. Soooo beautiful. Just the earliest greens on the tips of the trees as they begin to bloom. Had to really watch out for a deer that ran across the road when we got here. I can't wait til tomorrow to get out and adventure the beautiful sights. Meece, hope your meeting went well.
-
Mary, glad you made it to South Carolina. I hope you are able to golf later in the day tomorrow. Have a great time.
-
Mary, thank you. The meeting went well. No rain, just a bit cold. By the time it was over it was nice weather.
I am glad that our travelers finally reached their destinations safely. I have had some harried flights in the past. Definitely not fun. Hit wind shear in New Orleans, or had aircraft issues in Dallas and had the fire engines meet us at the end of the runway as we were landing, but I think the worst was when DH and I were coming home from our first anniversary trip and our plane was struck by lightning, As tired as we were, we sure didn't fall asleep after that!

Woke up this morning to beautiful clear skies and even more beautiful sun rise. Weather forecast is warm and sunny for the next 3 or 4 days! good considering we have had rain since Wednesday, thunderstorms Friday night and rain all day Saturday. Had to empty the bucket on the porch last night that catches the leaks from the roof. Looks like I will get my new roof this week.

It was quite cool when we got up this morning, but the sun is quickly warming up. Sky is so blue and the clouds are just beautiful. Nice day today.
-
The sky was beautifully blue here as well, but it has been cold and breezy. My fingers just won't warm up!
-
Almsot 38 degrees here already, high wind warnings, and heavy rain expected. Of course, heavy rain was expected yesterday and I didn't see a drop. But then, I didn't have to go out yesterday. I've got to be out all day today, so of course, it's going to rain buckets!
-
At this point no rain is predicted for the next ten days. Partly cloudy days with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s.
-
Good morning everyone -- We will be sunny and in the low seventies today ........ but windy.
Pat

got up this morning to temps in the upper 30's and clear skies, upper temps in the mid 50's. good weather predicted all week, guess I will get my new roof this week!

Good morning. Slept late here in the foothills of SC. It is cool, in the 50's but up to the 60's later. Windy. I'm sitting inside the cabin looking out a full picture window at the lake seeing the birds. Will venture out in a bit to take a nice morning walk. So glad you're getting your new roof this week, Shelia.
-
Suzette: Rats! That would have been nice because we have a lot of handman projects!
Meece ... your plalne was hit by lightening?
Sheila ... I called to having the siding that came down and they should be here by the end of the week - I am glad you will get your roof fixed. We can only pray for no more rain until it is fixed!
A couple of days last week we got as high as 66 degrees.
-
55 degrees here, windy as all get out, not one drop of rain. Tomorrow is supposed to get up to the high 50's, Wednesday in the 60s! Possibly even breaking a record or two! Yeah! Still, instead of the torrential rain predicted my area's under a high fire danger warning due to it being so dry! Gotta love weather and weather prediction, the eptiome of illogic!
-
Hi, it's almost 7 pm and we're at 56 degrees and sunshine. I have some yellow and purple flowers in my front yard (faces the south) - DH and I thought they were annuals but they're green and blooming beautifully and he planted them in June of last year. I'll have to try to get DD to take a picture and post it, I'm sure one of you ladies would know what they are. In Michigan, things just don't bloom until April or May, so this is unusual for us!
Kathleen, glad your siding is getting fixed.
Sheila, glad your roof will be done this week.
Meece, glad it's going to be so warm for you this week, maybe your fingers will warm up finally.
Pat, enjoy the sun and 70s in Orlando.
Mary, enjoy your vacation, hope it warms up so you can golf!
NM, keep those fires down and enjoy the unseasonable warmth.
Everyone else, have a great evening.

We're at 70 right now. It's gorgeous out!

Gonna ask everyone on this thread to say a prayer or send good positive thoughts to my niece Allie. She is 35 years old with a two year old. Had a 4 cm lump removed from her breast on Friday and got the call today it is BC. She is planning on a bi lat mast and will see another surgeon tomorrow. Her mother has had BC in the past, but is one year in battling stage IV pancreatic CA. My poor brother is completely undone. Thanks ladies.
-
Allie, your brother, and sister in law are all in my thoughts and prayers.
-
Mary, your entire family will be in my prayers.
Yes, our plane was struck by lightning. A group of men (fitting the profile of terrorists) boarded the plane and sat in various areas of the plane. This was the weekend after the" liquid rule" went into effect, so terrorism was fresh on everyone's mind. When the lightning struck there was a horrible flash and noise. When we saw how frightened the young men looked, we knew they were not expecting anything bad to happen. Sorry if that sounds racist, but it was the state of mind of many back then. Anyway when we landed, at home, we heard the pilot comment on how the jolt effected his legs and he had to fight to keep the plane level. Scary.
-
Meece ... I am so glad the Lord watched over you and your fellow passengers. Scary stuff. I don't know what we would have done if anything happened to you!
Mary ... prayers for brother, sister-in-law and niece. Is it your SIL that had both breast and pancreative cancer?
-
Mary, I will also say, your extended family is in my prayers.
Weather report, another day with a beautiful Carolina Blue sky overhead. A little frost on the windshield but other than that a beautiful morning leading into another beautiful Carolina spring day. My creeping phlox that drapes over my brick wall along my driveway is starting to bloom, the dogwood trees are not quite ready to burst into bloom but will in a week or two. (no sign on the roofing contractor yet
) My azaleas may not bloom this year, I went pruning crazy on them last year and they may not have recovered enough this year to bloom but should be beautiful next year.
Sheila

My greenhouse was over 99 degrees yesterday. It felt so good to play in there for awhile. I have an azalea in there which has been blloming for two months or more. My outdoor azaleas haven't bloomed yet.
The sky is blue with whispy white clouds today. We are expecting high seventies. DH and DS are already complaining about the heat. Looks like I'll never get to put away my sweater, at least not for indoors.
-
Thanks everyone for your prayers. We found out today, my niece, Allie has DCIS and it is low to medium grade. She will have a bi lat mast on Monday with immediate TE's placed. This was not bad news. Seems like it was caught early. The tumor was a great deal of scar tissue from previous implants she had put in. Because it showed up on a mammo, they caught it very early. We are relieved. My SIL had DCIS years ago and was dx with pancreatic CA a year ago. She's been on chemo all year and there is no end in sight, but she is doing very well.
Savannah is gorgeous. In the 60's today. We saw one parade and strolled the historic district. Going home tomorrow as it is supposed to rain. Then back to work.
-
Mary, so glad for your news, will continue to keep Allie in my prayers.
Mid Michigan was in the low 60s and beautiful sunshine today.
-
Good news for Allie.
We should be near 80 today. I like it!
-
we were cool (temps in the 50's) and overcast. Still no sight of my roofing crew. Tomorrow and Friday should be sunny and in the 60-70's.
Sheila
-
I sure hope they get your roof on soon. I hate waiting games.
-
YAA HOO up to 17cel today spring is really here.
-
Another beautiful day in the high seventies. Got to go check on all my plants.
-
Broke records today--in the 60's! Gonna be the same tomorrow, AND, I've got tomorrow off--starting spring break a day early! Gonna try to get some yard work done if the ground has thawed enough. . .
-
In the mid 60s today, 59 tomorrow and then the bottom falls out and we're supposed to be cold and snowy this weekend. Drats - the doggie "build up" in the yard that I was going to take care of this weekend will have to wait!
