Francine...that is so awesome! I am glad you had a good time!!
-
Francine: Love the pics. Looks like a lot of fun.:
-
Francine! You go girl!!!! Fun! Fun!!!!
-
Well...I am back too! It was an awesome week. Not real hot...but warm enough to be in the water and enjoy the sun!
I managed to pick up the bug on my way home...started getting sick in the plane (3 hours) and then all the way home in the car (4hours)...what a way to end my vacation! I had a rough night and now am feeling better.
Narshayne...glad to hear you got good results! Mom of Boys...good luck on exchange surgery.
Now...on to NYC planning. If everyone interested in staying at the same motel would PM Francine, we could get a room count and then shop for the best rates. Let her know how many in your party and if you want a room to yourself or want to share one with someone else. This should be a great time!!
Take care...going back to bed.
Chris
-
Chris: I just pm'd you the address. Hope you are feeling better.
Christy: Did you have your surgery yet or is that coming up this week? I bet you are happy that Heceptin is a thing of the past!
-
Hi Ladies,
Chris..too bad you are a little under the weather.Glad you did enjoy your cruise.
Yes ladies please do send me info on rooming so we can make some more definite plans. Can you also say exactly which nights you will be here in NYC.
Many of you know that Chris was in Cozumel the day before me on her cruise. She left me a cute pink shopping bag with a candy, a postcard and a lovely note. . Here are some photos of the bag, the beach ,the bar..
Hugs,
Francine

I hope you had a drink on me too!! Funny to see the pictures of the bag...it was on quite an adventure.
-
Chris,
Sorry they gave you a hard time to leave the bag.
They did not hand the bag over to me so fast..I had to wait for the manager. I look very dishonest.LOL.
Thanks again..

Yeah...Francine, I guess we both looked like criminals!! I love Paradise Beach...the kids are so content and they just love getting me to the tops of the icebergs in the water! You look great in your pics!!

Hugs,

Pickle....You have a great memory! Yes, I am in NOLA right now. I have pre-op consult with the surgeon today and my surgery is Wednesday for stage 2 of breast reconstruction. And yes, I am so happy that my Herceptin is finally over! I told the chemo nurses that I never wanted to see them again!!! (except for maybe if I run into them somewhere like the grocery store) LOL
-
Christy: Good Luck with your surgery. Sending positive thoughts and well wishes for a speedy recovery! I wouldn't mind seeing my chemo nurses....only if it was on a sunny beach with a margarita in hand...lol
Hugs

Hope all goes well with your surgery.
Soon all this stuff will be way behind you.

Hello Everyone:
NYC ....here we come!!!! Francine has found a perfect Hotel that she has been to many times. It is located near Times Square and is walking distance to everything! We have tenatively booked some rooms. Please confirm what date you will arrive (April 8th or 9th), if you want to share a room, and what you would be interested in doing in NYC.
Here is a list of everyone that was interested in NYC. Please confirm and I hope I haven't forgotten anyone. There is still time for anyone else to join us too....if you want some friendship, fun and a bit of adventure just let me know and I will be soooo happy to add you to the list!
Beth P
Francine
Chris: you mentioned 2 neighbours. Is that confirmed?
BethR
Diane
Mallme
Michelle: You will be able to run in Central Park....exciting
Nasharyne
Patti ( I think you and Michelle mentioned travelling together and don't worry...country girls love NYC)
Nadine
Karen
Janine: You are already going to be there that weekend so we would love to meet up with you
Dawn: Will you be in SC with your Dad or NYC?
NYDeb
Annette: How are your knees? Will you be able to join us?
Once we have the list confirmed, Francine will PM everyone. I can't tell you how excited I am to have the opportunity to meet all of you. It is ironic that we were all starting chemo this same month last year and we are now planning a trip together. I never would have imagined that posssible a year ago....Life is good

Hi - I will contact Michelle about her travel plans and finalize if I can hitch a ride with her. Can you give me an idea of what "reasonable" is for a hotel in the city. I would definitely want to share a room. PS. I do snore, or so my husband says.
-
Hi Patti:
The rooms are about 219 per room per night. So sharing a room would be half of that. It is a really good price for the location. Most of us proabably have husbands that snore so we're used to it...lol

Hey everyone,
Been a long while since I posted. Suppose I am trying to get back to a regular life. Had my last surgery Feb 9 th and don't go back to see my PS until late May to talk about nips. My hair is only about a half inch long and very sparce. I am so envious seeing all the pics of you with real hair doos. In the meantime I am back to work and getting ready to move.
Not sure how I got on the list for NYC, probably assumed because I'm only 7 hours away. I would love to go and meet everyone. Unfortunately, there is no way I could take the time off from work right now. A few months ago I put in for a promotion, and got it. That promotion also meant that I lost weekends off, have every Mon/Tues off instead. You guys are going to have such a great time. I am truly jealous!! I am so looking forward to taking a week off from work down the road that doesn't involve surgery or treatments.
By the way, if I were to go, Patti and I would have to room together cause I snore too!!

Hi all!
Yes, I will be in NY from the 8th - 11th and staying in Times Square. Can someone PM me which hotel you will all be staying in?
I know for sure I am doing the museum route - MoMA Friday morning, Nat Hist Museum Fri afternoon, and maybe Guggenheim as well. I know we'll go to Central Park & Rockafeller... some shopping probably. I hope we can at least all meet up for lunch/dinner a couple of times! I'll have to give someone my cell ph #. This is going to be great!
Good news on all who had b9 results (yay Francine!). Good wishes your way Gina for the testing. Congrats ccbaby on last chemo, and Deb for the promotion. I love hearing about good things happening for all of us!
Take care! Janine
-
Hey All! thanks for thinking of me! I don't know weather I will be recovering from SX or at my Dads in SC. My surgeons are taking out my port and implant!!! I don't have a date yet but hopefully it will be soon!!! Enjoy NYC!! Love, Dawn
-
Hello Ladies,
I will be there the 8th - 11th. It's a mulit purpose trip for me also. I will be working, hanging with friends and hanging with you all. I will be staying in Times Square also, I plan to meet up with you guys.
-
Hi all,
Francine.. I just pm'd you. I'll be in NYC from the 8th to the 11th. I have no problem sharing a room with someone.
Ladies - I'm finally off to my follow up CT and mammo today hoping and praying for clarity.. Let's just say my nerves have been on a roller coaster ride for the past few days...
Have a great day all!
Beth
-
Beth R: Good luck with your follow up today. Prayers and positive thoughts are being sent your way! We are arriving in NYC within an hour or so of each other. I arrive in the Delta terminal at La Guardia. What terminal will you arrive at?
-
Good luck Beth!!
-
Beth..good luck to you today..I think you shoudl hook up with the other Beth and make arrangements.
Pickle- how did your fill go yesterday? Any discomfort.
I went for my preop physical today prior to my exchange next Wednesday. My GP gave me a nose swab to make sure I do not have any infection now and she also mentioned using antibiotic soap which Beth had used in Canada prior to my exchange. I was real happy that the nurse was able to get blood on her first try.
Ladies ..we are still looking for what you might be interested in doing while here.
Hugs

Francine, I am going to arrive either Thursday evening or Friday early afternoon. I am bringing my 5 year old....she is my easiest. I want to take her to the American Girl store and do some sightseeing or see a show. I am planning on taking the train up so Patti if you want we can meet up in Philly or Princeton and go together.
Sending good thoughts to all going through surgeries, stupid tests and good healing for those just out of surgery....
hugs

How great that the meeting plans are shaping up. I have been hiking for about a week now- off and on sort of- have been very lucky to have friends here in Northern GA. We started the day after about a foot of snow fell- we hiked on snow for three days- it was beautiful but COLD!! the third afternoon I got very chilled and we decided to call our friends to come rescue us.
I came down with a sinus infection and we took the next day off and I slept all day. Then we set out to hike 2 days back to their house. The weather was much warmer and it was great. We tented near a shelter where they have a cable system for hanging food to keep it away from bears. We slept in the next morning and we went to get our food bags- they were GONE!!! Totally unheard of to have food taken. I talked to a bunch of hikers today and found out nothing except the bags were still there about half an hour before we got up.
So we had to call our friends to come rescue us yet again- fortunatley now we were only a few miles from their house. They brought us a picnic lunch and some snacks then took our packs and we walked 4 more miles to their house with just snacks and water. Today we hiked from their house up and over Blood Mountain (also with just a few pounds)- to the next road. Tomorrow we are going to hike light again (aka slackpacking) 6 miles to another road- then go into town with them for my friend's LAST radiation treatment for bilateral BC and then out to dinner to celebrate.
Then we will put on heavy packs again and continue walking north on the AT.

Dayla,
I was wondering about how you are doing. I guess everyday brings something new and exciting.
How nice you can go and celebrate with your friend on the completion of her chemo.
Please do send us some info so we can communicate with you or even send you some goodies.
Hugs,
Francine
-
Dayla: Great to hear from you. Keep checking in when you can. We are all looking forward to hearing about your big adventure
Hugs
Beth P

I hope you find good health for the remainder of your hike, Dayla! Keep us posted when you can...
