Well after I set up my rain gauage we got a whole 4/100 of an inch of rain.  Looks like more might be coming tonight, so I look forward to seeing if this is accurate.  Then I can be a real weather "reporter".  (Which is what you do AFTER the weather has happened)

Got up this morning to gale force winds driving little tiny snowflakes.  No real accumulation, and apparently there isn't expected to be much.  Temp is 33.1, so it should melt off.  The the weather guesser on the radio just said sunny and breezy today!

Hmm breezy, I would hate to be there when that weather guesser predicts wind!  We had a bit of rain over night.  Not sure how much yet.  I am ready for a clear weekend.

The snow here is almost gone!  I am now not accepting any more snow as it is March!!!!

Meece ... predicting the weather after the fact is the same think the professional weathercasters do!  One weathercaster I worked with reported on air that it was sunny and warm when in fact it was raining -- really hard.  From that point on, he would run upstairs to check the weather!

NM - well, he was half right!!!

Stay warm or cool -- whichever part of the world you are in!

This morning on the way to work (7:30) it was 9 degrees - yes, that's 09 degrees, it is now up to 25 and the guessers say it's going to be in the 40s for the next several days.  This is (I think) our 5th day of sun - extremely unusual and very welcome here in mid Michigan.  I leave for a medical conference on Sunday - it's in Atlanta so I'm hoping there's no snow and it warms up a tad next week in Atlanta.

    Have a wonderful day everyone.

It was 33 degrees on my way to work.  Pretty cold for here, but what else do you expect?  I just unwrapped the frost cloth from my patio plants!

The weather guesser has put forth this forecast for Saturday and Sunday:  We should get up to six hundredths of and inch of rain.  SIX HUNDREDTHS?  Does that even warrant mentioning?

I got up this morning with 25 degrees and the squirrels stole one of my suet cage bird feeders. They have been taking it off the hook and leaving it on my porch but it is no where in site. I found the 2nd one on the ground under the hook. Today it is to get into the upper 50's. I did see daffodils in the area in full bloom. Mine aren't fully up yet.

I hired someone to replace my roof, they are to do the job the end of next week weather permitting so please pray to the weather-guessers for clear weather next week.

I was quite lazy today and slept until 1 pm!  Still recovering from all the treatments and fighting a yukky sinus infection.  The sun is shining and it's 41 degrees outside.  The snow is melting slowly but the roads are nice, clear and dry so easy traveling.  I leave for Atlanta tomorrow to go to a conference.  I hope Atlanta is warmer than Michigan this week!

Shelia, not sure about you, but the squirrels are such a nuisance around here.  Hope you fee better and have a good trip next week Suzette.  It is 64 degrees outside with full sun.  We sat in the sun and soaked it up.  Then got the bug to do a bit of yard work.  It was glorious.  Family coming over later and we will grill hamburgers and hot dogs.  I'm making it spring wheter or not it really is.  Going to South Carolina next weekend and hope it is still warming up.

It has been overcast today, but we did manage a lot of yard work today.  After hoeing all the weeds in the back yard, I planted strawberry sets in my greenhouse, then planted some squash, okra and tomato seeds, and re-potted several other plants.  Now my hands are frozen and I don't want to play anymore.

I'm jealous, Meece!  My garden is still under 6 inches of snow!  I do have some seeds coming up on the sun porch--morning glory, lettuce and spinach so far.  Gonna put these in the window boxes off the sunporch--the greens for easy salad gathering and the glories for color.

Native, here morning glories are a weed! they come up voluntarily and overtake everything although the hummingbirds do love them. Last night at the church ladies group monthly meeting we did discuss when to start planting flowers in the flower beds at the church, we are having a work day to clean out the beds but we don't plant until after April 15 due to chance of frost. Days like yesterday, sunny highs around 60, can fool you into thinking that Spring is really here, but overnight temsp remind you to wait a couple of weeks (morning low 25) before starting that outside spring planting.

Yeah, but I hate waiting!  Up here we're really not supposed to start indoor seeds until April 15th.  I got a head start out of sheer bordome and the need to see something other than white, gray or mud colored.  Oh,well, seeds are cheap and I can always start over if this batch looks like it won't hold up long enough to be transplanted. . . .

Ooooh I couldn't wait until April!  That would be torture.  I have two boxes full of seed packets so I can plant to fit my mood/  Right now, our back yard has next to zero landscaping.  Hopefully this spring, DH will be inspired to let me start, but I can plant just about anything I want anywhere I want right now.  I need to get my sunflowers planted soon.  I use them as a sun shade for our familyroom windows whic get sirect afternoon sun.

Oh, I planted fingerling potatoes last summer but never got anthing big enough to serve.  Yesterday I noticed that I must have a dozen potato plants and I pulled one out and it had three 1/2" long potatoes onit.  Maybe I will get some good ones this year.

Don't get jealous ladies, but today I got a good does of vitamin C, in fact I got sunburned!  I went out to the yard after church and my greenhouse was up to 95 degrees.  I opened it up and played inside for awhile.  I planted zinnia seeds, re potted some strawberries, planted zucchinis and three varieties of sunflowers.  I also made a bird screen for one of our ponds, and came inside and sewed for a couple hours.  Now I am in bed before 8.  Exciting life, huh?

    Me too, Mum!

Meece ... Mum and I will be moving in with you and DH!

Our snow is almost completely gone.  You can sure tell where the sun don't shine (no pun intended).  It is the sites where there is very small spots of snow.  Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kathleen, we still have a couple spots that the sun don't shine on and snow is still laying, mostly northern exposure under trees.

Sheila ... with all this snow it is easy to chart out your property to plan various kinds of plants and flowers - right side of house and most of back yard - full sun; left side of house partial sun, front yard is for shade plantings.  I just hope the box elder bushes are okay ... they had a lot of snow piled on top of them!

Have you taken advantage of your house confinement making any new quilts?

I haven't been confined to the house, I work 1/2 mile from my house and haven't missed any work. This past weekend my quilt guild had a workshop on Saturday to piece the blocks for a quilt we are going to raffle off later this summer. That is the only quilting I have managed to do. I am trying to get some work done around the house and it doesnt' leave much time for other things.

Atlanta was beautiful today.  Sunshine and warmth.  I don't know what the temp was but it felt like about 70 on my walk today.  Now I'm done with my meetings that began at 4 this afternoon but they will be all day until about 8pm tomorrow, Wednesday and Thurs. morning until I fly back to the cold north on Thursday afternoon.  The sun was wonderful today though and can probably get me through til spring.

The rain started about 15 minutes ago.  I wonder if it will be that  6/100 they predicted.
