RAN HALF MARATHON ON SUNDAY!!!
I did it!! I did it!! I ran 13.1 miles on Sunday. It was awesome and amazing and wonderful and crazy and fun and I loved it!! It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. During mile 4 and 5 I actually 'enjoyed' it. I even turned off my iPod to take in the sights and sounds of so many people running with me. I had friends who also ran to support me but we ran at our own pace and met at the end. I got tired around mile 9 but took a shot of an energy gel and that kept me going till' the end. I was greeting by family and friends but the best part was when my son, 3, and daughter, 5, put their little arms around me and hugged me tight. My daughter said "you won mommy!!" oh man, did I cry. And my awesome husband had a dozen roses for me and whispered "I'm so proud of you". Oh girls, tears everywhere. Only someone who has to go through this journey truly understand what it means to cross that finish line. I'm still on a high!!!
