Hi girls,
stopping by to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
Hope all is well.
Hi Lynel, nice to see you again
-
Happy New Year to all the September Sisters. May our two stage IV sisters dance with NED this year, and all of us have clean scans. *susan*
-
I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I think and pray about you Leann and Nicole all the time. I second that Susan - May we all dance with NED this year. Marg
-
Hi Everybody! Just stopping by to wish everyone a happy New Year. I also wish for all of us to be dancing with NED.
I went camping for 3 weeks, and even managed to light a few candles on the 20th and thought of all of you with special healing thoughts and prayers for Nicole and Leann.
I got some good news yesterday. I am pregnant again! We are not telling any of our friends or family and even my son until 12 weeks. The miscarriage was just too hard on all of them. But I am bursting to share it with someone, so please keep my precious secret.
Dying of the heat here! About 39 Celcius at the moment. Even the pool is too hot. Keep well everybody....
-
Good news Liezel.
Yes, like the new dance title Susan.
UK has again almost come to a standstill with the snow!
How are you UK ladies deeling about the proposed changes in your health care system?
-
Oops - forgot to spell check!
-
Happy New Year sisters!!!
Nicole and Leann,
hope you both do well on treatment, thinking about you often!!
Liezel,
I pray that all works out!!! Congratulations!!!
Sandra,
I read about your weather,
what's in store with the health department?
Hi Marge,
how are you doing??
Hugs to all!!
Maxine,
hope you are hanging in there...any news??
Thinking of all of you!!!
-
One week into 2010. May it be a happy, healthy, and prosperous year for all of us.
Great way to start the year Liezel! I wish you could send some of that heat to the northern hemisphere. We're in the grip of an Arctic freeze and there's more snow on the way!
-
Stopping by to say Hi,
Nicole, how are things?
Hope everybody is well!!!
-
Hi to all,
sorry I hadn't noticed how long it had been since i had been on last. Wow before christams.
Hope you had a merry christmas and great new year peroid.
I had a very wonderful christmas, nothing fancy or anything we took our caravan to the beach like every year but then we stayed there, previously we would put on a christmas dinner production back at the house and run around all day. This time we had cold BBQ chicken, Creamy pasta salad, fresh king prawns (OMG - they were good, 2 kg for 5 ppl) fresh bread rolls w butter. Drinks chips lollies etc,,, then we had home made christmas pudding w custard or ice cream or fresh fruit platter. The whole atmosphere was relaxed and easy it was heart warming and enjoyable....
We took our rides down to Taree for NYE and had a great night. got a couple of new girls to work for us and it all went well, going down again 26 th Jan for Australia day celebrations.
Health news isn't looking so good though. We had some early indications that the Xeloda wasn't really doing much. I think its slowing the progression a little but no enough to warrant the side effects. I have mets on my spine and ribs and the stitch like rock is back in the r/h side of my upper abdo. My feet are swollen with fluid up to my knees and my head tilts down to the right where my head/ jaw now rests on my collar bone. The pain meds are working well so that is all good but other than that I am fairly screwed.
Dr thinks we are looking at months/ weeks rather than years/months with 6 months being optimistic.
I now need to decide do we try another chemo drug or not being that do I want to be sick for 2 weeks out of the maybe 20 I have left? at the moment I am thinking I might like to get a second opinion. I haven't seen another Onc and maybe a new one might have some new ideas.
It was Jack's 9th (son) bday on friday we had a lovely day and will have a party when the kids go back to school and then Sarah's 13th (daughter) on 9th March. So since it maybe my last we are going to pick a W/end in Feb and have Jack's Party on Sat then Sarah's on the Sunday inviting everyone they know. I will be the party of legends!!!! LOL
sorry for the downer, I have felt your love and prayers touch my heart please keep them coming.
Nicole
-
Nicole - your Christmas sounds fab, home made Christmas pud, yummy. You will have been celebrating Australia day by the time you read this - will look forward to the news on this and we will want to know all about the party of all legends - how are the kids reacting to all this?
Don't you dare apologise, you have every right to be on a downer love - love and prayers coming every day from here and I am sure everywhere else in the world our ladies come from. Nothing wrong with second opinions but remember it's your call, you do what's right for you and what is comfortable for you.
my home email is sandra.holroyd@tiscali.co.uk - email me anytime you need a chat about 'anything'.
Hi to all.
Speak soon
-
Nicole, your Christmas does sound perfect. I am so sad to hear about your news. It must have been such a shock. I think of you often, and will continue holding you in my prayers every day. A 2nd opinion sounds like a good idea to me - even if just to make your decission easier. Hang in there! We need you here, you have been such a huge support for me and helped me in so many ways...
Would love to see some pics of the family. Love to all!
-
Hi Nicole,
I am glad you had a wonderful christmas, sounds so peaceful!
I agree on the second opinion.
Much love to you!!!
-
Nicole, Your grace and courage are inspirational. I'm glad you had such a wonderful Christmas and hope that you continue to have beautiful experiences with your family and many friends.
I'm thinking about and praying for you from New York.
Love, Peggy

I am supporting a friend who is being treated for bowel cancer - she is not going to lose her hair but she is not allowed to use 'normal' hair dye - her hair colour changes frequently as she is upset that the grey hair is now showing - does anyone know anything about vegetable hair dye?
-
Sandra, I have no knowledge of any hair coloring products. Sorry that I can't be of any help at all.
Has anyone heard from Nicole? She hasn't signed on for a while, and her last message in another forum sounded very sad. I hope that she is planning birthday parties and enjoying her family while waiting for additional opinions from a second doctor.
The large snowstorm is south of us, so we are in the clear. Only a few flakes coming down, not the 30" they are expecting in Washington, DC.
-
We already got a snow day & the flakes haven't even started to come down yet. It will give me some much needed time to catch up on my grading. Teaching has become testing and more testing and it just doesn't feel good. The kids hate it and so do the teachers. Every week we have another deadline & another test to administer. Stay well my September sisters & know that you are all in my thoughts.
-
Snow day here as well, and not one snowflake has even fallen. Silly, almost. Still thinking about Nicole. *susan*
-
_gentle bump_
We are all thinking of you Nicole. I hope the b-day parties were fun for both you and the kids. Much love to you.
*susan*
-
Worried about Nicole. I emailed her on the last email address I had for her, but have not had a reply. Anybody else has contact details for her?
I am well. Heading to 12 weeks, so feeling more human, and 8 week scan showed all was well with baby. Saw my oncologist 2 weeks ago, and she changed me to every 4 months follow up while I am pregnant because we can't do any scans. Did bloods, but not sure if pregnancy will influence results. Waiting to hear from them.
Hope you are all well.
Liezel
-
Liezel, I think we are all worried about Nicole. She hasn't logged on here since Jan 24th. Glad to know you have sent an email. I don't have any personal email addresses for the group.... maybe just keep sending her emails with supportive thoughts?
And then, your baby doing well. Wow! How wonderful is this? I am sure that the medical folks are keeping a close watch and treating you very special. You certainly deserve that much! I can't believe that we are going to become September Aunts. But there is still a long way to go.... but the feeling human again part is really good! :-)
Warm thoughts to all, *susan*
-
Good Idea Susan - will keep mailing!
And guess what - babes is due in September!! How is that for giving bc the middle finger!
Love to all!
-
Can you name baby around 'September' in any way Liezel? Can we all be virtual Godmothers?
Nicole and family, very much in our thoughts.
-
I just gleaned from her Facebook Page that our dear sister Nicole has lost her battle with breast cancer on or about February 21st. My thoughts and prayers are with her family in Australia.
I have an address (although I am not sure if it's the most up to date) if anyone is interested.
Love, Peggy
-
I am totally crushed. Sending her family all of my thoughts, knowing that their pain is far greater than mine. with warmth and love to my september sisters. *susan*
-
Absolutely devastated.... I will miss her so much. Thinking of her dear husband and kids. Hang in there september sisters, please....
