I didn't find BCO until after my mastectomy, chemo, rads, and delayed recon. I am inspired by all the brave, funny, brillant women here. The women on the Stage IV forum have given me more than I can ever give them - I have learned the most about life from them. Thank-you.

When i was diagnosed with BC,my surgeon suggested this site,so i'd have something to reference and people to talk with that had gone or were going through what i was about to do.He said he wanted me to be well informed, even though no 2 of us are exactly alike.I've been here ever since and have learned a whole lot about what we all go through, how to handle it etc.I've cried with some, laughed with others, and had MANY questions answered,so it's a GOOD THING !!!!!

I felt so alone when first diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer but coming to this site and conversing with other women I felt not only NOT alone, I had hope for a longer future. The women here are so strong and caring. I love this site!
-
When I was dx'd I knew nothing about cancer, much less BC........... BCO has given me the ability to learn more about BC from other women, as well as connect with people going through the same thing (chemo, radiation, surgery) or with the same stage. On my worst days I knew I could come here and read other stories and information and know that I'm not crazy, this is what happens during treatment or start a topic to vent, ask a question or share a story and the BCO Sisters respond everytime with support.

It has been a place of support, a place where I found information and a place of friendship - for some reason I didn't want to discuss things face to face. I have made the most wonderful group of friends who I can share feeling with and they know exactly what I mean. It is a wonderful place.

Breastcancer.org has been a lifesaver to me. When I was first diagnosed, I went on other websites that scared me to death. This website gives me a feeling of belonging to a huge support group any time I need them. Thank you so much for being here!!
-
Breastcancer.org gives me the support I need from people who truly understand where I am and what I am experiencing.
-
Our doctors may assure us that everything will return to "normal" after treatment but the fellow cancer warriors at Breastcancer.org provide sincere empathy and support that is crucial to emotional and physical healing.
-
Breastcancer.org has given me a resource that stimulates a proactive approach to my disease and treatment. Even the best minds in medicine don't have all the answers and haven't been able to corral all the subtleties each of us feels in our different experiences. I am grateful to have this information at my fingertips should I choose to seek it.
-
BCO has been a great source of information during and after my treatment. I got better information on how to treat SEs from chemo from posts here than I did from my oncologist. I was able to offer good information on the radiation forum as well. And the mojo thread has made me realize that I am not alone and I need to take charge of my QOL.
It has also offered reassurance that my treatment plan in general was a good one for me.
Thanks BCO!

BCO has been an incredible support sytem, providing me with accurate information and a wonderful caring network of fabulous women.
-
BCO has been where I dump my fears, express my thoughts, and am able to be a part of the club. Breast Cancer stinks, but these woman are absolutely incredible and have been my support whenever the "bad" things start coming into my mind.
-
Breastcancer.org provides me a with a wealth of information, understanding and support. Thank you.
-
Breastcancer.org has VERY successfully filled the gap currently present in the medical community’s ability to share comprehensive treatment information with full disclosure and to also provide meaningful ongoing support to newly diagnosed women!
-
This is all SOOOOO great to hear. Thank you all for taking the time to share!! It means alot to us, and helps us to convey your words to potential donors who we desperately need to keep our site humming.
Warmest wishes,
Melissa and Team

I came here when first diagnosed and going through treatment. I don't come as often now, but check in from time to time. I've made some lasting friendships and learned that I am not alone. This site is awesome!
-
BreastCancer.org has given me a place to come to feel okay to just be me and share my thoughts and worries without judgement. It has given me a place to find real information from amazing women facing the same horrible disease as I. Thank you!

-
I love the verity of threads and all the information. And it gives me a place where I can ask questions and not feel like an ideot. I also am free to give support and possibly help someone who is going through where I've already been

Oh how do I put a 5 paragraph answer, into a few words?????
I needed knowledge and I needed it fast.
I needed someone " real" to tell me I was not alone at my age...
I needed a place to read and lurk... and reach out for help....even at 3 am.
I am thankful for the Hospital I go to.. that told me to come to BCO
I am thankful to have met everyone I have met...
I am now, two yrs later... thankful that I am alive.. to still be hear to now... talk to other new sisters who need us...." old timers"
THANK YOU BCO!

There are so many decisions to make after you are diagnosed with breast cancer. Because others have shared their stories, I have been prepared for each step. During a time that is so out of control, it is so comforting to have some control and to know that you are not the only one experiencing this crazy disease.
-
BCO has been a place where I could feel that I am not alone and there is someone who understands where I've been.
-
Breast cancer .org has saved my sanity throughout my cancer experience, without the members giving me knowledge I would have been in big trouble with my treatment and healing.
-
I am so grateful that I found support and comfort here. Thanks a million.
-
Information, information, information. I had no idea even of what questions to ask my onc. Since finding breastcancer.org 2 weeks ago I have spent many many hours reading the various forums. I see my onc this Friday and have a list of questions I want answers to. Thank you all for being there.
-
I need BC.org, it gets me through each day.
-
I'm one month into this diagnosis. I spend more time on breastcancer.org than doing anything else. Your real stories, advice and not just doctor talk give me solace. Thank you all so much!!
