Hugs shiny....Hope you feel better and all goes well with DS......Please don't think me ignorant but what exactly IS a lemonette??.........
Hope you all had a great Wednesday........I have been on vacation al week and feel as though I have accomplished NOTHING!....... -
Shiny hope you sister NEVER joins our club except in a supportive way!
-
Hollyaan, Accomplishing nothing on your holliday, is a result! That is good, as long ass you feel relaxed and rested for it. Enjoy!
The lemonnette root comes from the "lemons" the dudds the badones. Basically, when I was growing up, my dad used to get a yearly car book which listed all the Lemons for that year, carwise.. all the "brake easily-poor performance-nottt brill ones". So from that time onwards when I was not doing well I said I was a lemon ( but I am sure others say it too???). Over the years, I just tweeked it to "lemonette" to reflet my feminine nature.. and also to make more fun of myself as it sounds even more rediculous then "lemon" and it's good to have a laugh when one is just so totally "broken" or otherwise unusable. he he. There you have it. Myyyyyyyyyyyy I must go to bed! am toast!
Hope you do nothing all week except what you want! leave that "must to" list on the shelf.
Take care
Shiny

Thanks, Shiny...Sleep well and safe travels to London.........

Been reading the messages but not posting. Several issues I am dealing with but none are health problems, thank goodness.
Shiny, my bro is a car nut, tow truck driver, mechanic and a car that is able to go from point A to point B, but looks like a hunk of junk is called a " Hoop-dee " (phonetic, not sure of the spelling )... from time to time I have called myself one, like your lemonette. Maybe I should use hoop - dee - ette !!!!!
I will be moving to a new apartment the end of March - signed the papers today. A major upgrade and less $$ and I am so excited. This means I will have to do some serious house cleaning to get ready. Ugh, but I know you will forgive me for needing to do this.
Hugs and Blessings, Nancy
-
Nancy! Good for you! Another purge.... Which apartment did you get? The smaller one with less rent than the one you really wanted?
-
Nancy, I like the Hoop-dee! That sounds fun! Thanks for sharing!
How exciting about your new place. It is lots of work but it feels good to get a clean slate and get rid of loads of "stuff".
Barbe nice to see you.xx
All my peeeeechiest vibes coming your way dust buns!!
xx

Barbe, the new place is about 200 sq feet smaller than my current 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom place. There is one bedroom, one bathroom, and a sun room/den off the living room with french doors. And it is still less rent by 25%.
I brought an old sofa bed, dresser, chest, table, etc when I moved here - no new furniture at all. It is maybe 25 years since I "redecorated" with anything new, except a new bed after my DH died. Time to rethink and redo things for my comfort and what little sanity I have left...!!!
If you read this far, I had an exciting early morning. My first grand daughter arrived via emergency C section. Mom and baby are doing fine. I plan on visiting in a bit. My son phoned at 3 am to say he was on his way to get gowned and masked.
Hugs for all. and NO HOUSEWORK, it is Olivia's birthday. Nancy
-
Congrats Nancy! Is that your first grand?
-
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh happy birthday OLIVIA!!
What a great blessing Nancy.
You'll just love being a grandma.
Which reminds me, Barbe how is your babette percolating? Everything fine??
The sun is shining. I've taken myself for my 20 minute walk. Have a load in the dryer. That's enough for the whole week, right?

***Loved the life imitates laundry idea. LOL
-
Nancy ... year - Olivia's here!
I like Hoop dee too!
Shiny ... how is your sister?
Lucy ... I am praying extra hard that the tests all come back negative! Does it count if you cross your eyes?
-
Nancy congratulations on the arrival of your first granddaughter! That is wonderful news, glad that Mom and Olivia are doing well. Good news too about your new apartment. It will be good to have a chance to redo things to suit yourself, even if it does mean that some housework is necessary :-)
Viv I hope your yoga goes well. I used to go to yoga classes but now I just do the yoga at home. I do find it helps me stay supple. One of these days I will get to a class again.
Shiny I hope your day is going well. You achieve so much with the special needs work relating to your DS, I really don't know how you do it, you are amazing.
Lucy that sounds like a good vacation to me.
Faith yes that's enough for this week, take it easy.
My news is that today I had a meeting with my manager to disscuss my return to work. I have been off for almost 9 months now, which seems such a long time to be away. Anyway I will be doing what they call a phased return, so starting by working fewer hours than I used to and working up as I feel ready to. My manager is lovely and she has arranged things so that I won't have to carry heavy files for long distances, or even walk long distances between classes as I used to. I am really looking forward to getting back to work on Monday. It feels as though I am getting my life back again.
-
My DD has been so violently ill that her doc said it was a good sign, that her body has accepted the pregnancy. Nice spin, eh?
-
Congratualtions Nancy, and welcome Olivia!!!!
-
Congrats Barbe and Nancy!.......Happy Birhtday Baby Olivia!.......Hugs to your DD, Barbe!.......When is she due?....
Barbe, all tests NEGATIVE!......YAY!...........
Faith, glad to hear you are feeling better and back to your walks........Doesn't it feel great to get back to "normal" things???.......LOL......

Barbe at my age we don't get the red envelopes but we sure have to give them out.Another expensive holiday.
On another note my daughter has found the perfect venue for her wedding reception so all is well in the wedding stress dept.
((((Hugs for Faith,Saint and Arnie))))
-
Arnie ... I completely understand ... I'm going to miss you but its only for a week. I will be brave.
-
Just catching up with everybody! Granddaughters, new apartments, negative test results- so glad to see things are going so well for most of you.
Arnie- rest up and get that blood pressure down!! That's an order!!
Not naming names. We all know how that goes. But I think of y'all all the time and hope that you are doing well. You are always in my prayers.
Oh...and from my reading to catch up...Barbe- sorry about the Farkle. It's an addiction I swear!!
I am doing wonderful. The hair is coming back although I still wear a ballcap when I go out. I am working out again (even doing some running) and eating healthy again. I feel great and I am getting my life back too. It's a wonderful feeling. My prayers for all of you.
Hugs!!
-
Mary! You done good!
for yourself.....still think about you when I play Farkle, though...
-
Great to see so many "reports" of bunnies checking in.
Jayne and Mary, so great to hear that both of you feeling so good are returning to your lives. I can't wait to make that report, too. I have decided that my "triumphant" return will be to present at a conference in mid-March in Virginia. My DH has made the committment to go with me, driving, schlepping the stuff and keeping me sane. So I have a goal. In the meantime will continue with the walking and working on range-of-motion stuff.
(((((((((((((((Arnie)))))))))))))))))
Mum, tell us more about Chinese New Year. Details, details, details.
Yes, Barbe, that is an amazing 'spin' to put on such a story.

We have a huge family dinner with many traditional food dishes. Then after dinner red pockets are given by each couple to all the unmarried relatives. So the saying goes the more kids you have the more luck you get. My favorite dish is called FatChoy it looks quite disgusting but tastes devine. Its full of mushrooms, veggies, beancurd and preseved oysters. We are all supposed to wear brand new clothes and the colour red represents good luck for the new year.
-
Mum, that sounds like so much fun!......Happy New year to you!.......WOW!..if the more kids you have the more luck you have then my mom hit the jackpot!.....She had 13!.....LOL......
