So, I went to my ultrasound appt at 415 p.m. on Fridy and he checked me and said to go straight to the hospital so we could have a baby!! Once I got all set up in a bed at about 6, I was dilated to a 5. They did my epidural and we had a baby at 856 pm!!!! It went along without a hitch. He is smaller than I expected, 7 lbs 6 oz., and 20.5" He looks just like my baby girl when she was born:)
The one bad thing is that I have a spinal headache. Apparently they are more common with women who had a spinal tap for a c-section, but you can get them (lucky me) with an epidural, too. It is a super bad pain, As long as I lay flat it's bearable but when I have to stand or sit up and do things it's so bad it even made me throw up once. I have been taking something every 4 hrs for it, and it barely touches the pain. Hopefully tomorrow It'll at least be tapering off
So, because of that, pics are going to have to wait, sorry:(
When I was pregnant, I kept saying that I hope Buddy is as good of a baby as Dixie was. Well, so far, he's even quieter and easier than she was!! AND, this is no exaggeration, he has more hair than anyone else in the family!!! God is good:)

Welcome to another precious little life. Blessing and cyber hugs from Down Under
-
So wonderful to hear of Buddy's arrival ! Hoping your headache goes away soon (I had that epidural headache 26 years ago....)

WELCOME BUDDY!

Congratulations Billynda! I hope your headache goes soon.
-
Congratulations on the arrival of your little "Buddy".
Wonderful news. Hope your headache goes away soon. My son had a spinal headache after a spinal tap. It lasted a couple of days. It's a spinal fluid leak so it feels way better laying down. Sitting or standing drops the fluid pressure around the brain that's why the headache is so bad. He used to get migraines and said the spinal headache was the worse he ever experienced. The good news is that it usually reapirs itself within 48-72 hours. The hospital told him that caffeine helps to speed the reapir process.....go figure. Take care. Hope you feel better soon.

A hearty welcome to Buddy....so glad that he is here....give him a hug from me and all his "aunties" here. As the others have said, hope your headache goes away quickly....I remember many, many years ago having surgery and having a spinal and went to sit up and it was either my mother or the nurse who just about put their hand in my face to force my back down...then they told me about the headache thingy!!! I had forgotten all about that....of course this surgery was back in college in 1975!!! Does that date me?
Billynda....again, mazel tov to you and your family on Buddy's arrival. Such good news to have two healthy babies in one week....
-
Billynda - thanks so much for sharing your good news!! Welcome, Buddy!
So sorry about the headache - if it continues, ask your doctor about a "blood patch." I had the spinal headache too, and the blood patch worked a miracle. It was gone in minutes.
Huge congratulations for you and the family!!!!
