    Jacqui - just wondering ... if the nurse won't give you the results over the phone - what if you went to their office and requested a copy of your report.  I don't think they can deny it to you.   Freedom of Information and etc.

    I agree that a personal visit is in order.  Let them know that you are to be taken seriously.

    I agree, Jacquie. You are entitled to the information......go get it. Let us know if we can help. Do you think the nurse would respond to a petition signed by all of us on bc.org?....at least you know we are with you.

    Answers at last!!!

    After several attempts at getting the results, I went today to the Health Records department to get the results.  When I got there I was told that it could take several days and it was going to cost me!  What!!!,  All they need to do is print a page off the computer.  It would be free if it was going to my GP.  On principle, I left without getting my report.  Anyway, I pulled out my ace.... my former clinical trials nurse who still occaisonally shows up at my onc appts.

    Before I left the cancer centre, I called her and within 3 minutes she had pulled up my report, read it to me and gave me a hug over the phone.  Mammogram shows no malignancies.  She did say that it said "MRI Triage" at the bottom which she had not seen before but she thinks that they are working hard to manage the MRI volume so it is possible that having to do the mammogram first is just a way they are doing that??? Anyway she said there was absolutely nothing, nothing seen on mammogram so the follow up MRI is only becuase that was the procedure that my doc wanted to begin with but I had to go through this traige process first.  Anyway, I am off to an MRI on Monday, but am not worried that it is due to anything suspicous, it is just a routine test.

    Now was that so hard to do from the beginning?  I am writing a letter to the VP of Nursing at Sunnybrook to discuss the model of care and  how Sunnybrook should adopt "patient-centred care"..  I am glad that I am in the health care biz so I can use all the lates buzz words.

    Wow... thanks for all the support and encourgament here.  You guys made me remember that I am a force to be reckoned with!

    thisisme.....such good news!!!! They will probably just be comparing the mri with the mammo so they have a very detailed pic that will provide a type of baseline for the future. Way to go!!!!! Let us know if you get a response to that letter.

    Nothing like learning how to make the system work for you.  We had to figure it out pretty fast when my daughter was first dx with cancer.  I sometimes felt badly for the other parents who would just accept anything without question.

    Great news for you!  And if I get in this type of situation I'm going to think of how you handled it and keep pushing.  You just never know when the system is going to throw up a ridiculous roadblock. Thanks for sharing this.

    Hi all, just a note to say that I have just come back from the onc and there was nothing of interest on the MRI.  The nurse with attitude made herself scarce so I did not speak to her. 

    Now lets all keep Let-It-Be company as she is going in today for more imaging.

    Jacquie, great news!!! I've been thinking about you so I'm so glad you shared. I have seen Jacquie's hair and it is gorgeous. I'm so glad things worked out the way they are supposed to. Hope you got your referral to ps as well.
