    Ladies-

I had Neoadjudvant Chemo and lost all my hair and promised that I would never "complain" about my hair againSurprised  To my surprise-- my hair on my head is starting to come back 8 weeks post chemo "as well as facial hair!"Surprised  Is this normal?  I went into Chemopause the after the first chemo infusion which has now been about 6 months.  Could this be the reason for facial hair?  Any suggestions?  Any remedies? Laughing

I don't have any suggestions or remedies but I could have written your post! My last chemo was two months ago and I am horrified by how much hair has sprouted on my face. Was it there before, and I just never noticed it, or is this yet another wonderful side effect from the chemo? I don't have a clue!

my experience was that the facial hair will eventually "drop" off. same thing happened to me also.  it is your body attempting to heal; and i think it takes awhile for everything to get back to "normal" as your hair grows back...and your cells recover from the chemo. i can't remember how long it took for the facial hair to disappear....maybe a few months or so, i bought some hair remover..but never used it.

I did notice some light hair on my face but it seems to be gone now (I finished chemo in April and hair was already coming back in, including the face fuzz).

One weird/funny thing that happened to me was when my eyebrows started growing back in I kept looking at myself in the mirror thinking "something's weird"  Then it hit me that my eyebrows were growing back in their natural state and I hadn't seen them ungroomed in almost 28 years!  Definitley a different look for me :)

Shockedat39  That is too funny as I read about your eyebrows.  That is exactly the way I feel about mine--very hairy!Laughing  How long did you wait to get your eyebrows groomed?

Ladies-- Thank you for your input--I find comfort in knowing that I won't be stylin a beard and mustache anytime soon!Laughing

I really like these discussion boards-- being able to communicate with ladies who are going through or have gone through what you are!

    THANKSSmile

I hadn't even finished chemo (12/18) when I noticed fine white hair growing on my face - I shaved it off with one of those small eyebrow trimmers.  It hasn't grown back.  However, I've now noticed fine white hair between my hairline and eyebrows - yuck!!!  It too will have to go!!!   The hair on my head started growing back about a month ago and is pretty long (in comparison) around all of the sides, but the top is a little spotty........... If it weren't for the top with little bald spots I'd go commando - what's up with that?

Oh yes...in fact I think i got facial hair in before head hair, lol. Hopefully Linda (lkc) will pop on here and tell us what cream for facial hair there is out there.  I think she mentioned one a couple years ago.

Yep,  I have been noticing facial hair on the sides of my face.  I don't know if it was always there and just never noticed it because I was never bald before.  Now I am noticing my hair on my head growing back and maybe just noticing the face too for the first time?

LOL sorry I dont mean to be mean laughing but I posted the same thing a few weeks ago.  I will find it and bump it for you.  It stops.  OMG I thought if I kept going I would end up with a beard.  I still have a few stragglers that were there on my chin before I started tx, but a simple pluck and they are gone for a while.  The white baby hair is all gone.  I have to say the hair on my legs is quite the pain in the arse!  I never had it so dark and up my legs so far.  AHHHHHHHHH the gift that just keeps on giving.  It will end, and yes it is normal.

    Hugs

I too had the facial hair at the sides of my face.   I also thought it was because I was bald and maybe never noticed it before, but no...it was dark and long.  The good news is, it is now gone and never grew back.  I was going to have threading done, but I gave in and shaved it off completely.    So, it must have something to do with your body adjusting to the after effects of chemo.

Just get rid of it.  It seems weird to shave your face, but I did and it stayed off. I also don't have to shave my legs hardly ever. The one "gift" of chemo.

ahhh, Deborah, that's funny I posted at the same time as you.  I found the opposite happened with the leg hair, so I hope this happens for you as well.  It did grow in ultra hairy at first, but since that first shave, I have had little regrowth on my legs.

Let-it-be, yes I came back and read yours and got jealous~lol.  I will shave those little suckers off and hope they stay away.  Isn't it funny how all of a sudden we are now little monkeys.  I tell everyone bc is Gods joke of cancer.  He takes beautiful vibrant woman and turns us into middle aged men; fat, bald, no boobs, then when our hair does come back it is in all the wrong places.  UGGG But still smiling because I am done DONE D O N E with treatment.  Oh happy DAYYYYYYYYY

Deb, That is a big reason to smile!!! Congrats and good new photo with hair!!  Yes, bed head again, joy bliss.  Good to be alive, who cares about stupid hair anyway eh?

I keep meaning to post a new photo rather than my pooch...I gave up as my hair was growing wild, curly, up and out.  It's now super short.  I certainly don't look like Haylie Berry but, she inspired me to keep it short.

Finally! Just remembered I have a camera on this flippin' laptop!  Short hair is so easy, but I miss my long hair...
