When I received the mammogram a couple days ago they squished my breast with cancer and it sucked the air out of my lung. I couldn't stop coughing.I have stage lll breast cancer with mets to the lymph nodes. I am post chemo and pre surgery. When I went for an MRI there was a shadow on my lung, but I was told it was not cancer.

Has this happened to anyone else?? Is breast cancer directly related to the lung? My tumor was quite large, 7.5 cm.

Could it be fluid on your lung?

I started off as stage III and a couple years ended up with METS of my lungs, liver, and bones.  I was told that the lung is one of the most common organs that breast CA travels to first.  I didn't have breathing difficulties immediately after my mammogram, but my symptoms before my METS was coughing and having difficulty taking a deep breath.  I would be concerned since you are having symptoms.  I would definetely tell your doctor about it.  Have you had any scans recently?  Hope it ends up being nothing.
