7 pos nodes
I had 7 pos nodes and a 2cm tumor the cancer is aggressive but I am HER2-. I have had 6 chemo treatments and am about to start 16 rads. I was told that I have a 75% chance of being here in 5-10 years but I wonder if my oncologist is a bit optimistic. I have had 2 new lumps come up and both have had biopsey's both free of cancer. I would like to know if there are many out there with similar diagnosis and are still here many years after, sometimes it's hard to be positive and I need support.
thanks to you all and hugs

Thinking of you and best wishes from Australia - Just over 2 years since diagnosis, 9 nodes, 2.3 cm tumour - similar survival statistics quoted by my oncologist. I am still here and no recurrence so far...You will get heaps of positive responses. Good luck with your treatment.

This coming Jan. it will be 4 years since I was diagnosed. Similar pathology to you. 1.6 cm tumor, extensive DCIS, 6 positive nodes (one node very large-i try not to think about that). Same with me-aggressive but HER-2 neg. ER/PR +
Keep in mind that many women who are many years out no longer come to the boards to post.

I will be 10 years out from my first BC dx next July. That one was 1.2cm Stage 2 IDC with micromets to 2 sentinel nodes. I just celebrated 4 years out from my second primary BC dx which was a 5.1cm Stage 3C ILC with 23/23 positive nodes. I don't put much stock in the statistics. Each of our cases are unique and outcomes cannot be predicted. Remember that new BC research is moving at a faster pace now since the Genome project and decoding of DNA. New targeted therapies and less damaging treatments will continue to become available. All we have to do is hang in there until they finally find the key that unlocks the secrets to cancer cell growth and spread. That day is coming...make each day count but believe that you can live to be 90!

So happy to find this site . Just proves there is a sliver lining . I was just dx IDC 3 cm 9 nodes involved out of 20 taken . Total mast done Dec 9th with tissue expander . Let me just say Lindalou that is my all time favorite saying " Life is not measured by howm may breaths we take .. but themoments that tale our breath away." Lately my breath has been taken away from the reports . I try not to wrap my mind around them but to think positivily . I know that my journey has just begone and I will be the pied pipper on this journey not the cancer .
At first doc thought I could be treated just with hormone treatment but after Sentinal node before surgery this has changed the direction for treament ., so you can imagine my shock . Will chat later Linda
Diagnoised 10/12/09 IDC 3 cm Stage III 9 nodes er+pr+ her2-
