    Thanks HunkyD. I'll take it easy tomorrow, for sure...Today I worked to hard, again, trying to get everything done, so I can take Friday off, when I see the Onc. That way I can do a little shopping, have some lunch, and get there without a lot of driving, since my work is over an hour away from the hospital, and it's a winding narrow road, that's a bit rough in bad weather. We are supposed to have a lot of rain coming our way Thursday and Friday, and I really hate working in the rain.  At least, it's warmer here, than it is in Wyoming!!!  Brr is right!!  At least it only got down to 19degree's here last night.  In the low 40's today, almost balmy.

    Leggy did you have to drive when you were doing txt's? If you did that had to be pretty rough. It is cold here again today. High is to be 7. Thank goodness we don't have any wind.

    HunkyD how are you feeling? How is recovery? I bet you will be glad when the new year is here. Hopefully no more surgeries!!! I didn't realize what a process it would take. I thought it would be like going in to get bigger boobs that people do.

    Kelly I bet it is hectic at your house with Christmas and kids, but what fun.

    Bonnie you haven't told us what happened while you were in Panama. I'm sure we all could use a story about your trip.

    Karen are you getting caught up on your rest?

    Hi ladies, It is -8 degrees here right now.  I am not amused.  I am holed up in bed.  Got stitches out yesterday and have the rememainder of the week off.  Wyoming, it has been kind of a process.  Harder to make boobs out of nothing I guess.  Going to get something done with the hair today.  Not sure what.  More highlights at least.  I hope everyone else is doing ok and nobody is sick with the flu. Enjoying a warm cup of coffee right now.  Wyoming, if you are getting trt tomorrow good luck.  How long does this infusion your getting take?  Hope your numbers settle down.  I will drop in later!  HunkyD

    Hi everyone,  I am not sure how cold it is here but the news just said it will be in the 30's this wekend and I got excited so these dang dogs can spend some time outside for a change.  Our big lab acts like he is 100 years old, he will run out to potty and then stand quivering by the back door whimpering and I know it is not so bad since the puppy is leaping and jumping in the snow at the same time.  :)

    Off to see the radiologist for a follow up.  Kelly

    Hi Girls,

    Yes Wyoming, I drove myself to chemo., and it wasn't easy, but I stopped working after the 2nd treatment, I was too sick, so from my house it only takes about 30 minutes, to the hospital, in Santa Rosa.  Then when I did rads. I had them at another hospital in Napa, which was closer to work, and it took about 30 minutes to drive there from work, going in the other direction, but it was an hour back home.  That was every day for five weeks. Yikes!  I'm tired just thinking about it.

    I just got the H1N1 shot. I was walking my dog at the fairgrounds, where they were giving them, and I saw a middle-aged couple leaving the building, so I asked them, about it. I didn't think I fit the criteria, but they were taking everyone, since they had such light traffic.  I got right in no waiting in line.  The nurse, asked me if I had a problem with getting it in my left arm, I said yes, and told her about the nodes, and she asked a few questions, then when I told her I have my first one year since treatment appt. with the onc. tomorrow, she looked at me asked my name, and said she would think about me tomorrow.  Really sweet girl.

    It just started raining.  We need it.

    HunkyD I don't have treatment this week. The next treatment will be Christmas Eve. It takes about 3- 3 1/2 hours. 

    Kelly my dog is so lazy that she won't get off the deck if there is snow. Your puppy sounds cute.

    LeggyJ I'm glad you are finished with your traveling all the time. It is people like you met that restores my faith. I get tired of hearing about how bad everyone is or what bad things they have done. I hope I'm one of the people thank for making their day. 

    I'm going to go lay down and rest so I will check in tomorrow.

    Hi, I went shopping before my Onc. appt....I found the cutest coat, and spent to much money on it, but it was 50% off with an additional 15%, and I just had to have it.  Calvin Klein wool trench with gray and black leopard print and a large crowl neck...OMG I love it, and I haven't had a new coat in years.  I wanted to wear it for the Onc. but his nurse made me put on a gown,"open in the front".  Anyway, it complained about my back and well everything hurting, so he ordered a bone scan. In fact they called me as I was opening my truck door in the hospital parking lot, to make an appt., and I get in Monday at 8am.  Boy, that was quick.  The hospital was empty, with everyone going to Mexico for Xmas.  In the Napa Valley, it seems like everyone is from one town in Mexico, and it's a pilgrimage.  Nice weather down there now, such is warmer.  It's pouring down raining now, and I just missed the storm. Home safe and sound.

    Leggy, good luck on Monday. Kinda nice that they got you in so early so you don't have to fret as long. Good for you on your coat purchase, it sound really cute. Don't you just love a bargain!!!!

    Hubby and I went with daughter, son-in-law and grand son to look at some property in the Wyoming black hills. It was nice but not quite what we want. Grand son is talking so much so we had a great conversations. We laughed and laughed. I love being a grandma. I'm watching the "Polar Express", my hubby has never seen it. I really like it. But I'm a sucker for Christmas shows. I have  one week left of school then I will be off for Christmas.

    It has been cold here. Around zero for the high. It is supposed to warmer this week. I'm just checking in to see how everyone is doing. If anyone has any appts, test, etc. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news.

    Leggy YEAH it is only arthritis and nothing more. I think treatment may be the cause as I have more achy joints.

    It is snowing and cold here.

    I think your right Wyoming, the scan showed multi focal arthretic denerative changes in the sternoclavical joints, shoulders, thoracic as well as lumbar spine, hips and mid feet.  Then the Onc. said this should brighten up my Holiday Spirits, at least it's not cancer! He sure is lucky he's cute. This means changes since May08 when I had my scan before treatments.

    Great news Leggy.  I just got back from dentist.  I don't have great news like yours but I DON'T HAVE A DOC APPT FOR 3 WEEKS!  Yea!  HunkyD

    Hunky, a new avatar with blonde wig?  looks nifty, (does anyone say that any more?)

    I stayed home all day and didn't accomplish anything.  We went to Beaver Creek, Colorado last weekend and so today I was wiped out.  I don't know why, I only watched the skier and snowboarders since I can't do either but I did sit in the sun on Friday.  How lucky we were to get great weather. And all the little kids in their ski gear, soooo cute snowplowing down the hills!

    Hi Everyone

    Finally found some time to sit and catch up with a few things. Wyoming I thought I did mention about the trip to the panama but anyway it was always nice being on a cruise ship of course but there were 3 medical emergencies, one of them we had to really rush to the next port for a good hospital. I have been on a few cruise ships before but this time I think for some reason anyone in a wheelchair or a walker was on board this ship. It was like they invaded an old age home and brought everyone on the cruise lol.  One of the ports we were unable to get off the ship because of a strike so we just left and they refunded everyone who had booked excursions in that port. The panama canal itself was well worth seeing, quite fascinating.

    I am having my oldest daughter and her husband for Christmas this year, they will be traveling from Alberta where they have had some awful weather lots of snow and -40 Celsius. Sure hope it is nice here for them although it did snow today but they are saying it will turn to rain tonight and all the snow will be gone. I am not a fan of snow, like the sunshine.

    I am getting my eyes done in January, they are going to open up the tear ducts as they are closed and I look like I am crying all the time. I asked if it had anything to do with any of the cancer treatments and he said no, but I do wonder.  Still waiting for my appointment for the breast reconstruction.

    Bonnie, I had to have stents put in my tear ducts too since the chemo damaged the lining of them and I was "crying" all the time.  It took a while (months) but eventually after they took out the stents I quit crying as much.  They are still not the way they were but much better than the constantly teary look.  :) 

    I am off to buy sunblock and bugspray since we are leaving for Costa Rica on Saturday.  Yippee!  The kids will surf and zipline etc but I am happy just to be able to tag along and see them all have fun.  I hope the heat will be good for my back. 

    What is everyone else doing for Christmas?

    Kelly I'm jealous, I would love to go to Costa Rica. One of these days!!!! Talk to the sun gods for me because I would love to sitting in a lounge chair reading.

    Hunky YEAH on not having to go to the doc for three weeks. Three weeks can seem so long.

    Leggy my onc isn't cute but I sure do love him.

    Bonnie thanks for the info on your trip. I bet the medical emergencies were a little scary!

    It is getting time for lunch. I'm in my Psychology class and I did an experiment with my students with classical conditioning and we finished early so I'm talking they are visiting with each other. They are good students.

    My Onc. is cute but cold, no love there, but he's supposed to be the best and the brightest, so I guess I'll keep him.

    I didn't know the chemo could do that damage as well. 

    I feel like I have been out of touch with you all.  I just don;t know where the time is going.  At night, I am DAT so I have been passing out on the couch.

    LeggJ glad the bone scan was good.  I did see my Onc and I will have a lump beside the incision and he doesn't think it will turn into anything.  They call it a senoma.. pocket of fluid. He said it could be that way for a couple of years.  Everything else was good.  He didn't want to run another bone scan even though I told him about my aches and pains.

    HunkyD..glad you are doing well and love the blonde hair.

    Wyoming.. I guess you will getting a break from work ... enjoy it all.

    Bonnie.. you sure have more things to deal with again.  Hope all goes well.

    Well I am at work and heading for lunch.  I am off next week and will check in to see how you are all doing.

    Karen glad to hear from you.

    We are getting ready to have our white elephant gift exchange: the staff brings in things they don't want, we wrap them, then the students draw a number and go in order to choose a gift. The students love it. We also give them treats. It is one of the best days of the year.

    Karen, nice to hear from you again.  I understand about being Dog Ass tired.  I went back to work this week and am drained by the time I get home.  So, I just got home and got in my sweats.  I have been working on my christmas shopping on lunch break too because I know I will be too tired at night to go.  Wyoming...I have a whole houseful of things I don't want.  You could have a heck of an white elephant exchange.  LOL.  Then, if you still wanted more, there is always DH's shop!  Kelly, hope you have a wonderful trip.  I can fill the heat rushing through my joints right now.  I am freezing right now and am going to jack the furnace up. Well, I need to try and get some heat running through the shack!  Bonnie, hope everything is going ok with the eyes and recon.  Later!  HunkyD

    Major venting ahead~     Ugh I do this everytime we travel,  I get so frazzled trying to think of everything I could possibly need and then get mad when no one helps. And no one ever does...

    By the time we leave tomorrow I think the only one I will be talking to is my 7 year old.  I know teeneagers are egocentric but if I have to ask my 18 year old again to please pack so I can quit worrying about it I am going to scream.  At this point I really don't care if he is missing something and I will not be paying for anything he forgets!  I almost hope he does forget something just to teach him a lesson.  I feel like the meanest mom in the world right now but really and honestly I do not remember being this inconsiderate and rude, probably because my mother didn't let me.  How did she do that?

    Vent away Kelly, I will say teens have a little added attitude these days from their peers that may not have as aggressive or concerned parents as you are or your parents were.  Sometimes parents can be the best in the world, but when a child witnesses their friends getting away with crap, ie. not being responsible...it is easy for them to follow suit, at least a little bit.  Don't give up....they will turn around.  I have proof of that.  I'll bet our resident expert Wyoming can give you a good explanation.  That was just my 2 cents worth.  Just have fun, trips are rarely perfect that are planned on paper...sometimes the good times just happen.  I am just rambling...I have swung a broom at my child when he was a teen with intent to really hurt him....LOL!  Luckily he dodged the broom.  Rest, relax, have a great time.   XXOO HunkyD

    Kelly, Trust me they do grow into wonderful adults. If you feel like you are the meanest mom then you are doing something right. HundyD I laughed out loud when I read that you wanted to hit your son with the broom. Sometimes kids are so aggravating. 

    I'm glad we feel comfortable with each other to vent about anything and not talk just about our cancer!!!!!!!!

    I think I'm finished with all my shopping. Now I need to wrap. 

    Kelly have fun on your trip and don't worry too much about you son, he'll come around.

    I also want to wish my most heartfelt best wishes to each and every one of you.  I pray for continued success with our battles, and the love and warmth that our families and loved ones can provide us through some tough times.  I love all you gals...if I didn't have you to share my fears with and or to vent with....I think I would have been a real basket case.  Some people can feel comfort writing in a journal, etc,, but I feel very comfortable talking to you all.  So, Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and a very happy New Year.  I would love to meet each and every one of you some day.  XXOO HunkyD
