Kelly  I love the science centers especially the hands on ones. We have a small one here but I love it. I'm glad you get to spend more time with your kids.

LeggyJ congrats on it being a year anniversary for radiation. My one year for finishing radiation will be Dec. 18th.

HunkyD, I was just telling my hubby that this year I seem to be enjoying the Holidays more.

Karen I get extra days off next week. I go 1/2 day on Wed. and get Thurs. off. Since we are on a 4 1/2 day schedule we already have Friday off. I do get work the 1/2 day Friday this week.

    Talk to everyone later.

OK, had my pre-op today....scary...the pre op nurse at the hospital feels like an old friend after 6 surgeries this year.  That place was soooo crowded..I wanted to get in and out fast but it didnt happen.  I am making my grocery list tonight for turkey day.  Husband has a college football game to watch tonight.  I will watch with him while I drinketh the beer and make some lists.  We have some trim painting to do tomorrow....yuk, and preps for new carpet in this small room we are putting our new half ton safe in.  It is big enough that I could lock my husband in, it if I could get him in there...LOL!  No movies tonight for me.  I hope all of you are doing well....Bonnie...I have sneezing fits and find it very nice to be on the toilet during that time also.  If I am at work or anywhere else, I have to assume a terrible contorted position with the legs to control my leaks.  If it wasn't so damn funny, I wouldn't have brought it up again.  Turning cold here...I think our fall weather is on the way out.  I am so tired in the mornings trying to get up for work...I don't know what is wrong with me...I just can't seem to get awake in the morning.  Love to you all...hope everyone has a great weekend.  Will check in this weekend...it will get me out of painting for a second or two......XXOO HunkyD

Wyoming anytime off work is a bonus..don't you think.

HunkyD...what date do you have the op??  Hope all goes well for you.

Kelly... I didn't go on many of my kids school trips but the ones I did I really enjoyed.  Glad you can spend that time with the kids.

LeggyJ.... congrats on your one year since rads.   Mine would have been the end of October.  We have come so far.

Hubby and I watched Angels and Devils..with Tom Hanks and the 4 Christmases... I enjoyed both movies.   Well, off for dinner.

Enjoy the weekend.  Hope all the Junies are doing well.

HunkyD is your hubby a fan of Boise State? Mine is a Nebraska fan. I didn't understand what the fuss was when I married him. I do now. I have to DVR every game he can't watch. Then I get to watch with him when he gets home. Good thing I grew up watching football with my Dad. I have a hard time getting up in the mornings too. I get sleepy but when I go to bed it takes me awhile to get to sleep. I wake up quite a few time in the night. Then I can't get up in the morning. Usually my weekends are for catching up. I didn't get to this weekend because I had my grand son Friday night and then my grand daughter this morning. My girls always think they are putting my out but I love it when they ask me to watch the grandkids.

Karen, my hubby and I just finished watching "Doubt". It was pretty good. I love Meryl Streep though.

I have a short week at work. YEAH!!! I really do like my job.

    Love to everyone

    Hi everyone,

Wyoming  I am a cornhusker, I went to grad school in Lincoln.  Sometimes I even wear the shirts to rile my husband up.  He thinks he is too cool for organized sports etc but I think he is just a party pooper.  My daughter was born in LIncoln too.

I have been watching a lot of movies since my back has been too sore to do much else. I like flightplan and now have a few oldies lined up to watch with Bing Crosby.

My boys will both be home tomorrow and my daughter is very excited to see them.  They will all go to South Dakota with us to my mothers in Rapid City.  A six hour drive so as long as I have my little back heater I should do okay. Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend coming up.  Kelly

    Hi Everyone,

Well my cough is still there but not as bad as it was, don't have to run to the bathroom every two minutes lol.  I am finished all treatments and everything seems to be going good. I wish the same for all of you.  I still have to get my doc to give me a referral  for a breast reconstruction. The  doc. here that does that sort of thing is doing another person I talk to on here on Dec. 1 and she is getting the DIEP which is a lot easier on you I understand, but you do have to qualify for it.  If you are nice and slim I don't think you would qualify. As you all probably know they take the skin and fat from you stomach and re-transplant it for a boob. By doing it this way your body has nothing to reject, no muscles involved which would make for less pain. But you have to have enough excess fat on your stomach to do this. I have enough for myself and probably a couple of other people lol.

Anyway just thought I better check in and see how everyone is doing, I am also a football fan, not Canadian like I should be but I like the NFL better. My brother got me started on that placing bets with him and such.

Have to go now my 2 sons and 2 grandsons were just visiting from Alberta for the weekend and they just left this morning so I am trying to get wash and different things caught up although it was worth every minute.

    Everyone take Care!!

Kelly since you live in CO who will you cheer for Friday Nov 27 Neb. or CO? The only game I got to go to in person was the Neb vs CO a few years ago. It was a lot of fun. Neb fans are loyal and loud. Keep your back heater in top condition so you can have relief from your back pain.

Bonnie good luck with DIEP.When will you get your referral?  I have plenty of fat to make a couple of boobs. I also have enough boobs that they could do several more lumpectomies and still have plenty of boobs left.

If anyone is traveling during the holidays drive careful and be safe.

    Talk to everyone later.

Bonnie, good luck with your consultation...Hope you can get the diep.  Much easier.  None of it is easy though!   Wyoming...my husband is a Boise State fan.  This Friday night they play University of Nevada and they are good also this year.  Hope it is a good game.  Nevery knew we had so many football fans amongst us.  Kelly, hope you enjoy the time with your kids, your mom, and your back holds up on the long drive.  Glad you have been resting and how is the lung doing?  Nice that you have had some movies to watch too.  Karen....I am always one week behind you on the movie rentals....you have a lucky inside advantage...LOL.  Leggy, how goes it?  I am wishing you all a safe and happy week to those traveling or celebrating bird day.  I think we are done painting and I guess I have everything I need for Thursday...I/we are staying home.  Wyoming...hope you have this Friday off from trts!  I have to work Friday...oh well...I am running short on leave....Hugs to ya all...HunkyD

P.S.  My hair is at a terrible length....I am not sure what to do with it.  To cut again or not?

HunkyD I'm sure my hubby will be watching the Boise State game. I don't have treatments this Friday but next week. I need to do something with my hair too. I think I will color it this time, I have roots. YEAH. I have never been so excited about roots before. LOL

Everyone having to travel take care. To all have a great Thanksgiving and those who don't celebrate Thanksgiving have a fun weekend.

Is any one doing Black Friday? I will probably do it on line.

    Love to every one.

Hope you are all having a nice Thanksgiving.  I take it football is the sport while hockey is the passion here.  I am a true blue Toronto Maple Leafs fan.  Also love the premier english soccer.  I think I may have been a man in apast life since I love watching sports.   I did grow up with only sports showing on tv.  Of course , we only had the one TV and Dad ruled.

HunkyD ... yes saw the Terminator movie last night, good story but the special effects just didn't stop.

Hope you are all feeling well and enjoying your weekends.

    Cheers...Karen

Hi gals, weather was chilly here today....didn't do much of anything.  21 degrees when I woke up.  Yesterday, I went out shopping with my son to replace one of DH guns that were stolen...that was very interesting.....there is a gun shortage around here as well as ammo...seems people are buying them up like candy.  Finally found the one he wanted but it has to be shipped here.  I am no idiot when it comes to guns, but certainly don't know as much as son and husband, so was glad to have my son along.  I will have next week to start online shopping for xmas presents.  Been getting laundry done, etc.  Getting ready for another round with the surgeon.  I will be working tomorrow but that is all...they also have my insurance screwed up so have to go get that worked out sometime...seems like there is always something.  It certainly hasn't been very good here the last couple months.  Guess I need to thank god none of my loved ones are sick.  I loved the Four Christmases movie...we watched it again Thanksgiving afternoon with my kid...he liked it too.  Pretty silly but made me laugh...and that, for me, is good therapy.  Hope you all had a great weekend...I will keep in check with you..lots of things need to get done next week with carpet layer coming on Thursday, and a 1000lb safe to be moved here.  I hope I am out of it so I don't hear any of the damage...LOL....loves and hugs to you all....HunkyD

Good Evening everyone. I finished with the x-mas decorating the house tonight. I only do the living room, dinning room, main bath room and the windows. I do put out a few lights outside. Now I have to keep the cat out of the tree. He thought he had to help and he isn't the best help!.

HunkyD when do you have your surgery? The insurance that is screwed up is it for health or house? I'm glad you had your son to help with the gun shopping. My hubby wants a 22 pistol. I had him show me what kind last summer. Otherwise I would buy what I like. LOL I will start my on-line shopping here in the next couple of days too.

Karen my Dad had three girls and I was the tomboy so I'm the one who watched the sports with him. We had only one channel too. My dad and I also would go play catch either with a football or baseball. I was lucky we were in Wyoming when I was growing up as girls were able to compete in athletics, which I loved.

I had a great Thanksgiving weekend and I hope everyone else did too.

Wyoming you are way ahead of me I just finished taking down the Thanksgiving decorations today.  I will think about redecorating for Christmas sometime later this week.

Went for a walk today and helped at the school.  It was sunny and warm but will start getting cold tomorrow.  We had a nice visit to Rapid City over the weekend.  Lucky the sun was with us there too so we could send the little ones outside to play.  Eleven grandkids were there. Loud!

We went to storybook island to see the holiday lights.  My mom lives pretty close to the park.  Not much planned this week so I will go to the used book store and stock up on good books.  Hope everyone has a quiet week without too much drama!   Kelly

HunkyD Glad to hear you are ok and at home, things are always better at home. Got a new GP and she got right on my referral for the diep, figures took a woman to do it when I told her my other doctor said to wait awhile her response was what for. Really like her now maybe things will get going in the right direction.  HunkyD do you have more surgery's - sure hope not?

Wyoming where do you get the energy to do all your Christmas decorating, I should hire you to do mine lol. Oh well just getting over the flu so hopefully everything picks up soon.

Kelly nice to spend time with your grandkids, mine all live in Alberta so I don't see them very often and most of them are growing up so fast although we have a new one coming in April, will be exciting.

Karen hope all is going well with you.

    Everyone take care

HunkyD, glad you are out of hospital make sure to get plenty of rest. Do you have any drains or tube sticking out this time. Is this your last?

Bonnie this year my grand babies (who live in town) are old enough to appreciate the lights and decorations plus I didn't  have the flu!!! Glad you are getting back to feeling better. Im' glad you have a new GP. Keep us posted on the progress. Congratulations on the new grand baby!!!

Kelly I have visited to Rapid City most of my life as my parents families lived in the Black Hills, my Mom lives in Hill City SD, and I went to college in Spearfish SD. When we go major shopping we go to Rapid and yet I have never been to Storybook Island. I need to go.

I have treatment tomorrow, keep your fingers crossed that my numbers are still doing great.

LeggyJ was it nice on the coast? We have great weather but now winter has set in. The high for next week is 20brrrrrrrrr

HunkyD how are you feeling? Are you resting?

Wyoming, good thoughts for you on your trts.  I have xmas party to go to tomorrow afternoon and night but think I am going to be spending a lot of time in motel room.  I will make it for as long as I can hold out.  It is husbands work party and we missed last year, so I didn't want him to have to miss this year.  Karen, hope you had a good time at your xmas party.  At least the hotel we are staying at has wifi so I can stay in and xmas shop on netbook when I am tired out.  Bonnie, once again, good luck on your surgery. Leggy, glad you are back!  Hope everyone has a good weekend....ttyl...HunkyD

    Hi Girls,

Wyoming, I'm sending you good thoughts!!!!  KKing, work has been tough, lately.  DAT.  It's been cold here, for us NorCal's. Frost is on the pumpkin. It was windy but sunny and cool at the coast, but you expect that, this time of year.  Today, I went to the 40th anniversary of the Christmas Bazaar. Cute.  At 7pm it's time for the Tractor Parade!!!  Really cute!  Calistoga is still a cute funky town!  Rest up HunkyD.

Next Friday, I have my next 6 month appt. with the Onc.  I don't quite know what to expect.  I'm still DAT, all the time, but doing more, so I guess that's normal.  And everything hurts if I don't take Ibuprofen, but then I'm 53yrs. old with arthritis, so....

    Take it easy

Leggy, I am with you on the ibuprofin.  I used to go a year with out taking anything and now I use pain meds daily and sleep meds most nights.  It is very strange to me still but I guess whatever works... I think I was in or near Calistoga acouple months ago, is it near Napa?

Hunky I hope you are feeling better and are able to enjoy the days leading up to the holidays.

Wyoming, Sorry about your numbers.  It sucks when you feel ok and they go up so you know you have to start something again.  I hope you can keep them under control and not have to go too often.  It must make you very tired.

Went to a family dinner party tonight with all my previous partners.  Nice but sad too as I miss working with them and it is easy to see how things go on without you once you leave.  Elcie had fun she was the biggest kid there and loved all the babies.  So did I, they smell so good.  Kelly

HunkyD how did you do with your hubby's party? Did you get a lot of shopping done? Hubby and I went yesterday morning and got a lot finished. Then I came home and went to bed. Had our grand-daughter with us last night. I sure enjoy her. She is a spit fire but also cuddly. She goes to bed so good and she sleeps 11-12 hours a night.

Kelly I' m with you about how babies smell so good. It is one of the best smells.

LeggyJ I've notice that I'm more stiff and sore must be because I"m 52. LOL.

I'm off to bed again as I'm DAT.

    Everyone have a great Sunday.

    Hi girls,

Kelly, yes Napa is about 45 minutes south of Calistoga. I've been back to work for a yr. and still feel like I don't fit in, but I really don't care.   We won't be having a Christmas party this year, because of the economy, and I probably wouldn't have gone anyway.  It had become, something of a spectacle, with the young ones getting way to drunk, and making as#$ of themselves. I did too, when I was young, but that was then.

I have to take something for sleep as well, and I still only get about 7 hrs.

It was so cold last night, I just did a drive-by of the tractor's being set up, before the parade, and it was cute.   On main st. some people were lined up in chairs, all bundled up 2 hrs. before the parade was to start, and it just made my bone's ache, looking at them...buuurrrrrr!

Good Morning, I am in my warm bed still in recovery mode.  Wyoming, I did go to husbands party and made it about 3 hours sitting in the party room eating the hors d' oeuvers.  I then went to our room and did do some xmas shopping online.  I plan on doing some more today.  It is very cold here and snowing and I imagine you weather is probably none to warm either.  Good luck on you trts and I will keep my fingers crossed that the numbers stay low.  Kelly, glad you are enjoying your time off work and some fun with your daughter.  Leggy, stay warm.  I know you have an outside job and the weekend will be here before you all know it.  The H1N1 shot now available here for all under 65.  I did have mine and wondered if any of you have decided to get it?  Bonnie, hope things are moving forward with your recon.  It is a very big step.  Karen, don't work too hard. I need to check my movie line up for this weekend.  When I woke up hurting and dying to turn over on my side...I reached for my medicine and said..whoa...thank god I have some time left because there is no way I can make it to work today.  I will pay some bills online and take care of some screwed up insurance billings.  Take care all,  XXOO HunkyD

HunkyD...glad you are recovering well.   I did watch the Johnny Depp movie about Dillinger...I enjoyed it..but how can you not love watching Johnny for a couple of hours.

Wyoming...sorry to here you have to go through this again.  Hopefully the New year brings your numbers up.

LeggyJ...I see my onc tomorrow for a follow up 3 monthes since I still have a lump around the incision.   Mammo says it is still a fluid filled sack. I guess he will discuss this with me.  Wow, I am always feeling achey as well... could it be the arimidex/tamoxifen..whichever you are using?  I will ask him about this.

Kelly..are you having all the family together for Christmas... looks like I don't have to have either side this year.  Means I don't have to clean the house...one less thing to do.

I find I have a few good days at work and then I feel like I am dragging my butt or I start the week that way and end it with a bit more energy.  I have been taking a green supplement in the morning. It is Wheat grass, I add it to my juice.  I don't know if it is in my head but when I take it, I feel like it gives me some energy.

Hope you all stay warm and enjoy the week.

Karen, hope your appt. went well today.  I think we all have pain from aging, chemo, AI's or Tamoxifen, on going trts, etc.  Wyoming...we had the same temp as you this morning...brr!  We also had a couple inches of snow on the ground but nothing serious. Leggy, settle down a little bit at work.  I know I do the same thing when I have a feel good day I try to do more and pay for it the next day(s).  Take care ladies!  HunkyD
