Baby and Taxol
Right after I have the baby I will do 12 weekly treatments of taxol.
I have been so far with se but reading on here it seems bone bone, tiredness, etc are really bad with taxol.
Can anyone advise on what weekly taxol or taxol in general was like for them? Was it harder then AUX ( I do 5fu,clos, and dox.)

Perhaps your lingering pregnancy hormones will help you with any ses. Although there do seem to a fair amount of people with bone issues, my onc seems to think that this regime will be much easier to tolerate.
My onc has proposed weekly taxol x 12 or biweekly X 4 cycles and I'm not clear what the advantage would be. Any ideas?

Hi...I was on a 12 week trial of Taxol and Herceptin and then followed up with Herceptin every three weeks for a year. The Taxol every week is not too bad. I felt fine except a little tired as well as bone achiness. I felt a little worse as the 12 weeks went on but nothing I couldnt cope with and I continued to work and take care of my kids...Hope that helps...Hope

Clair-I was told no survival advantages-simply how harsh it is on the patient and the lifestyle issue. Though my Duke doc believes in a recent study that says a little bit of chemo over long period of time is better. Also, you should ask about this new drug study-I will post for you.
Thanks Hes112

I did Taxol totall of 4 infusions, every 3 weeks (Taxol x4).
I found my body was more lethargic and my bones ached. The bones only ached for 4-5 days after the infusion, then gone. Since you are having the infusion more often..it might be different.
Anyways, Taxol seems to be the most tolerable for woman regarding side effects. Its better than AC or FEC thats for sure.
Your on the home stretch....keep movin forward.

HI. Had taxol with Herceptin every two weeks. For me it wasn't nearly as bad as AC. I started to get appetite back and gain a few pounds back on taxol . I didn't get neuropathy.
Hope and pray it'll be OK for you.

I had dose dense (every 2 weeks) Taxol. I had alot of pain with it but no nausea or "brain fog" that I had on A/C. However, I have heard that the weekly Taxol treatments have alot fewer side effects.
My hair started growing back toward the end of Taxol (ok, baby fine hairs that only I could see..but it was there!)

I just finished #8 of #12 weekly Taxol and although I am having pain issues and some neuropathy it is better than the AC.

I had taxol DD - every other week. Only some bone pain on days 4-6 and hair loss.

Hi Jen, I had some bone pain. Got Taxotere with herceptin. For me just knowing I was on the back 4 made me feel better.
I really think the hardestt are the first infusions.
