New to this forum

An IBC friend suggested I join this forum since I am a 15 yr IBC survivor, nurse, and serve as the Executive Director of the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Foundation (www.ibcresearch.org)  When I was dx there was very little info available and what was there was not encouraging.  Fortunately I've beaten the odds and have not had a recurrence, although have numerous treatment related issues: spinal fractures, blood clots, shoulder problems.....but I'm still on two feet!!

There is life after an IBC dx!  I've been blessed to find a way to use my medical and patient experiences to help others by being involved in both IBC advocacy and research.  I sincerely hope that one day there will be such effective tx for IBC that there will be no need for forums such as this.  It would be nice to know the cause/s and how to prevent IBC but that's so complicated I don't know if that will happen in my lifetime.

In the meantime, I hope I can contribute useful/meaningful comments to this forum and read about others concerns, as time permits.
