Ooooh, there was drama in the thread and I missed it????? DAMN!!
There are seats and lounge chairs outside facing the water. I worked near there a few years ago, we'd go to the food court at lunchtime and nap. So, if it's a shockingly nice day.....
Looking forward to this!

So how late are you guys planning to stay? Sabbath ends that night at 5:17 (just checked) and knowing me I'd probably be ready to leave where I'm staying in Flatbush at about 5:45 - 6:00. Don't know how long it takes to get to the South Street Seaport so - is this realistic?
Leah
-
Leah,
I don't believe this is really practical. But it is a shame that we can't meet you. Maybe next time..
Hugs,
Francine
-
Leah - I'm guessing (since I don't know exactly where you'd be traveling from and the subways are notoriously messed up on the weekends because they do a lot of repair work at that time) the travel time is probably about an hour, putting you at the Seaport somewhere around 7pm. Sadly, I doubt we'd be there that long.
I'd also like to mention that I have a friend, will finish her rads next week, who I don't think posts on this board. I told her about the get together and she'd like to join in, is it OK if she does?
-
Maybe after this get together, we can plan one for January?? I'll be up in NYC setting up and working the NY boat show and would love to meet some of you one night maybe for a drink or dinner/drinks? I'll be working during the day and I have plans for that Saturday with my sis who lives in NY, but open every night as far as I know. I'll be there Jan. 19 - 22. Hope we can work out something!!
-
that sounds great... come January I wouldn't even mind gtg at the boat show!!!!
-
Count me in I will come in from the Island. Can't wait to meet all of you!
-
yea! pm me with your cell if you like!
-
Sweaty...the more sista's the merrier!
God Bless!
-
Thanks, Angel. I'll let her know. One more sista at the table!
-
Less than a week to go! Haven't been to the Seaport in years, and what a great reason to go! See you all in 6 sleeps!
-
Looking forward to seeing all next Saturday. I too have not been to South Street Seaport for many years. Probably at least 20. Wow.
Lets hope for a day like today. My husband and I ate outdoors at aManhattan restaurant. Not bad for November 15.
Hugs,
Francine

Are we all wearing Pink (LOL), how will we identify each other in that busy food court? I can't wait to meet all of you lovely women
-
The funny thing is depending on the weather I might be wearing a fuzzy pink Atlantic City sweatshirt! It's the warmest top/sweater/sweatshirt that I own, and if it's chilly I'm thinking warm! See you all on Saturday!
-
Hey everyone....I will try to get a table by the windows and make a small sign...see you soon!
-
Suz,
Looking forward to Saturday. No pink at all, probably just jeans and jean jacket. Let's hope for good weather. At least we do not have to worry about the s.. word at this time of the year.
I am sure we will find you.
Thanks again..

Could you city ladies help this country mouse get on the right subway from Penn to the mall? What # and where do I get off and walk to??
-
Omaha,
This country bumpkin will headding in from Long Island. Not sure if you want to meet at Penn and head down together, I'm looking to catch either the 11:16 or 11:21 out of Hicksville, which will get me into Penn at 12:00, or 12:09. Just let me know. If not, you can take the 2, 3, 4 or 5 subway to Fulton St., and it should be a short walk to the Seaport.
Tweety/Janet
-
The 4 & 5 do not stop at Penn.
From Penn Sta, take either the 2 or 3 downtown to Fulton Street (not the 1, the 1 won't stop there) (you could also take the A or C, but I'm not getting into that unless you really want to know).
Walk down Fulton St towards the East River to get to the Seaport. You're looking for the last building on the left ("Pier 17"), the food court is on the top floor, the window seating is in the back.
When you get out of the subway, ask someone which direction to walk to the Seaport (according to Google maps, the subway is on Fulton & William and the first cross street you should come to while walking is Gold). Printing out a copy of a Google map (or Mapquest or something similar, which shows the subways in the area) is a good idea. On the weekends, subways are often re-routed and things can get awfully disrupted/confusing.
I just checked the MTA website for service disruptions and the 2 and 3 should be OK (you might want to check again Sat morning) - BUT it looks like they're doing construction inside the Fulton St station (which is huge and connects a bunch of subway lines). Therefore, the exits may be screwed up, putting you on the street at a slightly different location.
I strongly recommend printing a street map if you're unfamiliar with the area, or just be willing to ask people.
-
Thanks for the directions.

See you soon

-
Yea! it was so much fun to meet everyone and such a beautiful day!!!!!
I still kind of think we should start a seaport sisters (or sistas) thread to chat about all our stuff, and leave this one clear for GTG planning!
Where would you want it?
Growing our friendships?
-
Thanks so much for organizing cookiegal! Perfect location, beautiful day and great new friends! Growing our friendships sounds like a great place for it, and personally, I vote for sistas
