Prayers, Blessings & Wishes for Saint

Oh myyyy Faithie ((((((((((((((((((((((((Faithie)))))))))))))))))))))))) It's ok to cry. You have no regrets, as I figure you've been the best friend anyone could ever have. I'm thinking Pat has probably thanked the good Lord above for such a friend as you. If God wants her home, then she will gain her wings, and forever be with Him. But she will leave hundreds of precious memories here on this earth for her family and friends.
And who knows???!!! There is still chance for a MIRACLE to take place !!! We can't give up hope on that yet!! If our Almighty wants her home, then that is a good thing for Pat, but it will be sad for those she left behind. We only have to remember that someday in the future, everyone will be together again in a place where there is no more sorrow, pain, sickness or death. I truly believe that with all my heart!
My prayers are with you Saint!! Just Let go and let God!! Everything else will fall in place.
My prayers are with Saint's beautiful family. May God grant you the peace, joy and happiness that you have shared as a family for many years with thousands upon thousands of memories. That can NEVER be taken away.
My prayers are with you Faithie. You also have some wonderful happy giggly silly boo-hooing memories to think of. No regrets Faithie....no regrets! When it comes right down to it, no regrets is so important.
I love you Saint! You've a very wise woman, with a good head on your shoulders who helped many of us sisters out of a storm (or hurricane). Your words of wisdom, calmness, "be well, stay strong" mean more than you'll ever ever imagine. But one day, you will hear those wonderful words from our Heavenly Father, "well done, thou good and faithful servant"....well done!! And I say Amen to that!

I told you we'd tell stories. Thank you for your contributions.
Saint & I met in the chatroom here. We nearly instantly were 'laughing' about our nicknames. Almost instantaneously we realized that we had a WI connection. From the time we met I think it was like a week before we were headed up north. So I invited them to come up to the lake. I was quite sincere -- as we'd 'hit it off' in our little chatting.
Well Saint had a different idea, why didn't we stop at their place on our way north? She invited us to arrive at dinner & IF we did indeed enjoy each others company there would be an invitation to spend the night with them. LOLOL.
I can still remember my husband looking at me like I was absolutely nuts as we pulled into their driveway.
We did end up spending that first night. Toooo funny. With her active treatment & busy calendars for the kids they didn't make it up that first summer. Nor the second. But by that time we were regularly staying in their guest room, bringing ice cream cake on the way up and a freezer full of salmon on the way down.
So this third summer of our friendship we started to plot our planning sooner in the calendar..... to get them up north, to the water, to the beach, to the art galleries, to the plays, to the shopping, to all of those sundowns.
Our plan took on wings. We thought we had it all figured out. Them in an RV around the corner from our little village. DD's boyfriend would drive the family car up, giving them easy wheels.
Dear Hubby & I were sitting in church. We being the youngest ones there by at least 10 years. Listening intently to the female preacher who is so loving & caring. And my cell phone goes off. Loudly. I was mortified. Talk about the rule follower having a wrentching moment. I grabbed my purse & rushed outside. It was Pat.
When I told her that my phone had gone off mid-sermon, she just burst out laughing. The more I described the little ol' country church and the hushed congregation the louder she laughed. 'You could have told 'em it was your Saint calling. LOL. Or an angel.' LOL.
While they had the RV in their driveway & were set to start driving, they'd just learned that their DD's BF would not be making the drive/bringing their extra car. Pat was very near to saying, let's just scrap the whole thing. She was concerned about being so far out in the boonies without transportation -- should she need medical care.
Since we'd been laughing, my little brain thought of a solution! You can have our pick-up truck!!!! We'll just get around on our motorcycle. She was at first stubborn as nails -- but I just kept insisting...... no, you can keep the truck at night. It will all work out. It's one of the few times that she was willing to accept 'help.'
And so began our adventure this summer of having 6 adult bodies, with seating for 4.5 people. It was the best part of the trip...... always figuring who would ride with Allen on the back of the bike, who would sit in the bed of the truck. The truck became so popular, that at times EVERYone was in the back of the bed.
We always laugh at how the whole thing fit together. From the cell phone call mid-service to the perfect weather that allowed our trecking about like the hillbillies in the pick-up.
It didn't really matter what we did or where we went..... we had a ball. We were able to get to two different play-productions making her DD happy, and the guys went golfing together a couple times, making their DS addicted when he sunk his first birdie. [Molly was filming Luke attempting to sink the birdie on her cell phone. He makes the shot and his celebration is hilarious and endearing. I think it was on YouTube at one point..... maybe I can track it down? He jumps, lands on his back, cavorts on the ground, to everyone's encouraging cheering. We laughed & laughed & laughed.]
I don't have any new news this morning.

Some people leave an awfully big empty hole when they go away. It's hard to imagine . . .
I came to love you these past months, Saint, and my prayers are with you now. I hope you find comfort knowing that you will see your loving family and your dear friends when they follow you home. Peace be with you and all around you.
-
Checking in this morning, much love and many prayers for you Saint.
-
Awwww, crap, not Saint!!!! I am sending prayers of peace and love to you and your family . . . and to yours, Faith, for being such a wonderful friend and sister to her. This has just been an awful time losing so many wonderful sisters. ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) and love to both of you.
-
I don't post often but have kept up with Saint and some of the others that we have lost. Like so many, she is just a special lady; one who cares and has reached out to so many on the board.
Lifting Saint and her family and each of you that calls her friend, in prayer for peace and comfort in the days ahead.
-
Saint, sending prayers for peace and courage. Strength to your family. gentle hugs.

I keep the prayers and vibes coming all day. Your brilliance shines through all who know you. I know this through the thaughts and emotions expressed by all here, and Saint, your fans and friends club is a pretty beautiful and powerful bunch of ladies here.
You have touched many, many of whom are my friends. Thanks for always sharing and braving, as the benefit is abundant and clear here.
May you get the care you need to comfort you and loads of God's grace to soothe you and your family.

I am safely parked for the night, in a lumpy-dumpy, mom&pop motel. When I asked what time breakfast started, she said 4:15.... so the hunters could get a jump-start on the day. Seriously.
I have been pouncing on my cell phone all day..... no word from Wisconsin. I just hung up the phone with Mrs. Snow, the first grade teacher from Vermont. Seriously. (Mrs. Snow in Vermont!)
Mrs. Snow is going to stay with me next week in DC for the convention. She concluded our laugh a minute conversation with the statement, "I can't wait till you introduce me to your friends as 'my people'... I'm so excited to help you." She wasn't prepared for me to break down in tears, right then and there.
Pat came to Chicago last Dec. to be 'my people' ..... see the picture at the top of the thread..... she made them make her the name-tag for my benefit.
I guess I'll never, ever hear that expression without thinking of that trip. We had a glorious day in the Art Institute & then had dinner on Michigan Ave in her favorite restaurant. We sat looking at the Christmas decorations as the snow pelted the glittering window. Very movie-of-the-week.
She very matter of factly said, "this could likely be my last Christmas." It wasn't morbid. It wasn't tremendously emotional -- the way she said it at the time. It was an assessment. It was a thank you. It was an 'arent't we having fun today & simultaneously -- man, don't we need to be grateful' sort of statement.
Pat. I'm thinking of you. Sending you all of my love from my lumpy, dumpy digs.... You'd be laughing with me at the artwork on the wall. Very calendar 1987-ish. We'd be laughing our heads off. It would all be such a comical memory if you were on this road trip with me.
Chicago was such a gift. I knew it then & I know it now.
