Hey ladies! Hope everyone is having a blessed Sunday!!!!
I just met with my Relay for Life team leader for next year and she has something some of you might be interested in. I bought 4 for small Christmas gifts. If you're interested you can PM me and I'll give you more info. They are 2 year bc calendars and have stickers for important dates. They are $3.50 apiece and that includes mailing one per person. (Price goes up just for mailing if you want multiples) Anyway, below are some pics....

A question arnie ---- are these purse size or wall calendars?

Hollyann... so glad you had fun on your trip!

Hope everyone sleeps well tonight.

Vivvy - I posted the same Maxine cartoon on "older women" thread!
-
Someone said they were "power surges".. but I like Maxine's theory. Fortunately mine are long gone, replaced with aches and pains and stiffness. Old age is not for sissies !!
I guess you could call it Fall House Cleaning, as I have been weeding through more junk sitting around. One laundry basket is full of clothes to donate. 2 shelves on the book case are empty - due to lots of shredding of papers.
Hugs for all, Nancy
-
Good for you Nancy - I know what you mean about ache and pains and stiffness. When I went through Menopause I did not have hot flashes or mood swings (no matter what my family says!) but I sure do have the aches and pains. We have a family friend who is in her eighties and says the same thing about old age not being for sissies. I agree with George Burns who said "if I'd known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself." Amen!
-
Good morning dust bunnies!.....I want 4 Arnie!.....And congrats on the last boost today!.......I will PM you......
I just saw the update on our little sweet pea Hannah....ALL 11 NODES were CLEAR!....She is officially NED!!!!......I hope she stays that way for good........
LOL Kathleen!....I miss George Burns.....He was such a great comic!........
Hope you all had a great weekend...Mien was disappointing because we only got 9 trick-or-treaters...And I went to all the trouble to get full size candy bars for them too!......They were only 2 for 88 cents so I figured I would rather spend the money on good stuff...They get enough of the junk.....
Have a great day..I gotta work 3pm to 11pm tonight...YUCK!....... -
PS love all the great pics here today!......
-
I am seriously sick of my house being dirty, soon as I can walk normally again I am going to get out the comet, glass spray, lysol, and go to town.

Hope your journey home brings you as quickly as possible back to your babeez! Nothing like squeezing ones babeez to renew hope and vitality.
I am cracking down to prep loads for a big meeting with the team at DS's new school. I need to support and inform and educate the team on most areas whilst making sure I keep their enthusiams and pride intact, and take on as much of the actual work myself and facilitate the easiest path to their learning as possible, so that they are not dismayed by the magniture of it; Lots of document writing on the cards for me today, and baking tonight... Always helps to bring home baked sweet muffins to the table at these meetings. The good things is that they all think DS is adorable now I have to get them past that and help them get on and educate him and recognize his potential. Good thing I have lots of practice at that. Enjoying your ditties Faith! DS was very upset the other day but the Potatoes song really settled him!xx Still asking and wanting for the red white and blue DVD!!
Coonie, Arnie, Vivvi, KaK, MCCraw,Sharon,EWB(((huggg)))Makraz, Barbe!! Mumma, jAYNE(S) and ALL YOU LOVEYS!! i AM SENDING YOU MY PEACHIEST VIBES!
Know that when I am too swamped or whooped, I am still praying and sending vibes accross the pond to you and thinking of you!

Shiny - have you considered a job in the diplomatic corp? With your persuasive skills I believe you might just be the one to bring peace to the middle east! I pray your DS adjusts well to his new school and that his staff is receptive to your knowledge.
Faith - prayers for Saint.
Saint - I am sending angels to watch over you and sustain you.
-
I second the nomination for Shiny as president of the world. Hugs as you move forward with DS's team.
Vivvy sending you love for your tomorrow/today.
Kathleen.... My deepest appreciation for those dear angels.

Where do I vote to make Shiny president?
Nancy will be thinking of you on Thursday. May it all be good.
Saint, honey , sending all the positive vibes I have got to you.
Faith,I feel the love.
A big Aussie G'Day to KAK, Barbe, Arnie, Coonie, Kathleen and everyone else that comes to play here.
I have had a lovely spring day in my garden and have planted tomatoes, capsicium and basil. It was very relaxing and it got me thinking of what has happened to me this bc year. I am 8 months out from surgery and was spared chemo & rads. ( I know a lot have had more treatments & life has definately been harder for them) . But it got me wondering when will I feel better. I tire very easily and just don't have the zip I once had, and that in turn makes me feel sad. I start thinking that maybe it's all in my mind and that I am just malingering and using bc as an excuse to why I can't get my life together. But then it's not just the bc, we started to renovate our whole house prior to dx and this is still on going, dh needs to work long hours due to a work project, dd is currently on crutches due to a sporting injury. A lot of my friends and family just don't seem to be there lately as I think they believe that I should be back to my old self.
As you all are bestest friends now I know I can complain and say what is on my mind and you will all know exactly how I feel and that makes me a little less lonely in this bc experience.
It feels like a can't win a trick this year and I just want things to turn around so good things start happening to us again.
Thanks for listening.
Big hugs to everyone
Viv

Have
already got something to put on your desk Shiny.
-
I am placing my vote for Shiny.
-
Vivvy girl. Not only are you the girl of tomorrow..... I always forget about you being seasonally ahead of us too!! You probably don't think a thing about planting spring flowers yesterday.
Somewhere in that concept, (about how I can't imagine it being springtime for you) there is a moral to the story. Maybe even the whole story?
We get completely involved in our own story. Well, I do anyway. Ego-centric. As I sit here contemplating the raking of leaves for fall you are spring planting.
At times I think it would be so beneficial to be graced with the ability to take a step back from the immediate & contemplate the larger picture. (Not that I am the least capable of doing so, mind you..... especially in the immediacy of major trauma, but I now realize that's what I need to learn to do.)
I've just learned that my mentor has been in a very bad car accident. I will leave as soon as I've showered to go see her in the hospital. Everything about her world has evaporated in a split second. She's a movement-dance specialist & travels the world sharing joy.
Somehow. Together, we must learn to celebrate the micro-moments that we have at our disposal and cherish them as they present themselves.
I think, too, we must allow ourselves huge/enormous/gigantic/boat-loads of time & space for the gathering of our wits & strength to find our stability once things have gone off kilter.
Vivvy girl. You are in the right space. I am so glad that you found us. The more you share of your feelings, heartbreaks and concerns --- the more we can stand by you in solidarity and offer our support. Been there & done that. You are in the process of becoming stronger. That's something to admire. I'm so proud of you. You are in the process of building a new normal -- in the face of the unthinkable. You are building your stronger, more resiliant self. Congratulations.
Please be kind to yourself in the process. We are here for you.
