Happy birthday Patmom!!!!! Hope you enjoy your dinner and cheesecake!

Thanks for the prayers for the FT Hood area ladies. The wait time to give blood at Scott & White yesterday was four hours. It makes my heart feel good that so many are so willing to help those affected.

Hope everybody is having a wonderful weekend!! We just got home from dinner out and I am settling in to watch the hockey game.

    Hugs to all!

In all honesty, my kitchen looked more like the first example, then the second.

    LOL and thank heaven.

I got down to the countertop & left only one teeny-tiny pile that DH must go thru.

Did two loads of laundry, put away three, unpacked suitcases from last week, ran the vaccum AND the steam cleaner cool machine on the linoleum in the kitchen.

My goodness, this is more housework than the previous 6 weeks combined.

What got into me? Oh, yeah, my book is done & I'm celebrating!!

That and the newlyweds headed this way. LOLOL.

    These look calorie free.

Hope that your dinner was delicious!!

    xx00xx00xx00xx

Thanks for the personal insight into the response, Mary. HUGS & continued prayers.

    Hi Ladies,

I haven't been on here faithfully as some of you are, but I have a favor to ask.  I posted a question on the Surgery thread regarding my upcoming Exchange surgery (11/16).  Some of you may have had your exchanges already & might be able to answer some of my questions.  I would really appreciate your help.

Hopefully after my exchange I will have more down time (hubby is taking a few weeks off to care for me, DS (17) & DD (2).  While he is cooking (Lord help us) & doing our laundry (yikes) ~ I can chat on here again!  I truly miss you crazy ladies!  LOL

Wow that kitchen makes my messes look good. I guess a little housework can be good. I can't believe I just said that.

Happy Belated Birthday, Patmom, sorry I missed posting yesterday for you.   I was up at 6 am, off to my son's, then we all drove over for his wife's nephew's baptism at 8 am.   3 hours later, after the church service, we went for brunch.   Lots of talking, picture taking, then back to son's house.  I did not one lick of housework and am on coffee # 2 catching up on emails and the "web".    it looks like some laundry will be done and organize a packet of legal stuff I need to send via certified mail tomorrow.

Parts of this apartment are clutter free and in perfect order.  The other parts are a mess. If I had a maid, I still would not know where anything was...    Happy weekend to all,   Nancy

    Happy belated PatMom!

Okay, my retarded husband.....sigh. I was to paint a wall that is very, very high in a corner of our kitchen that will be impossible to do once cupboards are in. So...I didn't get a chance on my day off Friday as I had to visit a client north of where I live and was there for hours. So yesterday I come home from work at 7 and my DH has started to paint this wall. There is going to be cupboards for the first 38" from the floor and then another 12" of backsplash! He knows this. But he painstakingly painted ALL the way down to the floor for about 6 feet from the corner and then ran out of paint! As the ceiling slopes back to normal after the corner, if he hadn't painted where the cupboards are going to cover, he would have had enough paint! Sigh.......now on my Tuesday day off, it's off to buy MORE paint and finish the job he started....sigh. Yell

Hi Barbe:  how about getting a few baskets or tins or canisters or pretty (cheap) vases and putting on top of the cupboards for decoration and forget painting?    Or are we talking about the back splash area?  I had ceramic tile put in my back splash area when we remodelled the kitchen.   Squirt, wipe and all was clean and shiny -- the best part was behind the stove - no fading paint, no peeling, no grease stains, etc.    Now that I am in an apartment and have no choice - white cupboards and counter tops and being a lazy bum...   I use a magic eraser or baking soda and lysol kitchen wipes.   I did put baskets on top of the cabinets and got a couple of very cheap tins at the Good Will.  One is a British double decker bus, about a foot long and very colorful.

More laundry to do.  See ya soon,  Nancy

Nancy I love the double decker bus! That would be something I would get too! I have two life-sized hens that I put on top of my fridge that look really cool. I am not getting upper cupboards so the wall does have to be painted as it's three colours once we took down the uppers. For those that think I'm being mean, my DH has 3 brain tumours and does dumb stuff sometimes, the problem is I don't know when until I find out! Like he would pay the house phone bill twice and not pay the cell bill (both Bell Canada)....sigh.

Hi Ladies!!!!!!! 1st thing!! I HAD NO INTERNET SINCE LATE LAST WEEK, IT WENT OUT JUST AFTER i READ YOUR POSTS AND WAS READY TO REPLY!! I wanted to reply especially to Viv who was feeling seriously Blue and to Faith who had just heard about her Mentor/friend. I sure have been thinking of you and sending you my support-but you may not have known. huggggggggg.

So, for today,...Barbe....OMG, you work so hard, I can feel the energy strenght and self restaint, not to mention the extra grey hair it must have taken to "be understanding" with your DH after he soo sweetly...gave you more work..aaaaaaaaaahhhhh. God love you girlfriend!!

Viv, I do hope you are feeling a tad better. If there is any way that you can reduce or downsize your renovation project with the house to get it done quicker, or just be done with it?? so you and DH can just BE together and enjoy some time together. I know, maybe it's impossible, but if there are corners you can cut, they are all worth it if they enable you to claim back some of your family or couple time and just regroup and take time for a little chorless living. Sending you some peaceful, restoring vibes..everyday is another opertunity.. for peachyness. Wishing you lots of kind, sweet, lovely moments scattered on your path, daily. hug. BTW: was it you that put me up for president?? and some of you seconded the motion!!!! hi hi hi!!

ohhhhhhhhhhhh honey(s). I can but try to keep up, with great difficulty with the current needs of my DS, his school's highhhhh support needs, and now the upper tier tribunal judge's directives. I am struggling to get on top of it all, too much at once. Fatigue doesn't help. DH away all week again. Still, managed to give my 6 yr old DD a nice weekend away (nice apart from when we had to evacuate the hotel, in jim jams due to fire alarm.. i didn't have shoes, brrrrr). The hotel staff made a fuss of DD and the staff at the disney shop too. went to see UP, and we both loved it.

Kak, happy you are now off the study and going to get help with your fatigue!

Faith, Thinking of your friend. She sounds like a woman full of power and strengh. She will redirect that strenght to her own  healing now. And when it is the right time for her, she will be strenghthened by the love, beleif and support coming from her great team of family fans and friends. Prayers have been sent.

Faith, Congraths on your new book! I have just this week had the chance to loan your 1st book to a very experienced music tracher and therapists who works with my son and many people of all ages with dissabilities. She is also having a listen to ditties 4 to memorise "red white and "blue" to chare it on the piano with DS. Your fan base is expanding! I will shop again!!

    Texas Rose, huggs and prayers.xx

Arnie, hope rads are behaving with you.xx

EWB, well done with the regular gym work out!! trying to do the same here. hug!

Coonie, meeting up with Julz and Faith?! Oh, i do wish I could be there, sigh.

Nancy! way to go for your check up result!!!!! yepppiiiiiiii

Now, Sharon, Mumma, Birthday Patmum, Jayne and ALL you other loveys( i sooo can't do the list!!)!!!!! Peachyest vibes coming your way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

love, Shiny. thank you all for being you!

    Ladies,

You are going to love this.

Today the temperature here is going to be 36 C which most of you converts to around 98 F.
The temperature is going to be that and even hotter for the rest of the week!!!!!!

    Hope that I don't melt.

Shiny & Vivvy!!!! Seeing you both posting in the same 'time' is certainly positive reinforcement for clocking in here.

We're just home from a VERY lovely dinner. A very upscale restaurant gives a complimentary meal to all veterans & active duty. So the four of us went out together. What an amazing meal. Especially kind of the restaurant to offer this kindness every year.

    Sleep well tonight.

I have several school visits to make this week, starting bright & early tomorrow morning.... don't be concerned if I'm not around a lot.

We need everyone's prayers for our sister Saint. She's in a pretty difficult way. Thanks so everyone who has kept up with offering her encouragement.

I went away last weekend on a retreat with the women from church.  The topic of the retreat was "A new chapter"  There's a long story that goes with the amazingness of this retreat, which I will post as a separate topic....the keynote speaker has just written a book called "Finding a New Normal" so how is that for timely.

Anyway, while I was gone DH was supposed to hang some curtains in my living room.  When I got home he apologized for not getting the curtains up, but he was very proud of himself of "doing 2 loads of laundry and a load of dishes."  Whoohoo!

Actually, I did tell him that I really appreciate him doing the laundry.  It's very hard to pull the clothes out of the washer.

Fathi, please keep us updated about Saint here, I am very nervous about posting on the thread I have been posting on as it is a Stage IV thread and I don't want to get my head snapped off! I am too sensitive right now and that would do me in.....sigh.

Vivvy, your weather sounds like ours! We go from winter BAM! into summer with no grace period in between to shed our winter coats....sigh.

Welcome back Shiny! While you were off-line we voted you in as President of the World, so now you can take care of us all! Laughing

    Hugz to everyone.

Happy Monday morning to all.   It should be warm and sunny before the residual of hurricane Ida heads up stream.   I remember one hurricane that brought massive rains to Pittsburgh as a residual -- we had a small leak in our roof, which then ended up going down the wall all the way into the garage under the living room.   Getting into the car, I thought, hmmm,  did my car leak?   Funny, but not.   Being in Virginia, there is more chance of the system heading this way.

Everyone, have a super duper day.  HUGS,  Nancy

Nancy - you mention Pittsburgh - did you ever live there?  I lived there a total of 7 years.

Barbe - what's going on that you feel so bad?  God knows you have more than your share of worries.

Shiny - you must have been going through withdrawal symptoms without a computer!

Good morning - I am getting a late start due to business I had to take care of this morning.

Hope everyone that needs a hug gets one!

Faith has a Saint thread under Prayers and Spiritual Inspirational.

Barbe. I have the exact same concern about continuing to post on the Stage IV thread. I sent a PM to a 'regular & ongoing' Stage IV individual and asked for insight. To continue posting there or not. I realize this is just one person's opinion, but I sought it none the less.

In any case..... I was given the green light for us 'nonStageIVs' to continue to post on the thread for Saint.

As Sharon pointed out, though, I have worked hard to keep the same updates/info on the other thread, that is located in the Prayers area..... so if anyone feels that they are truly trespassing @ the Stage IV area, you can get updates & leave comments on the Prayer thread.

I have called Saint today and she has again not answered. It's been ages since we've spoken.

I know that she must be feeling pretty low -- not to talk on the phone.

So keep sending her your love, in whatever thread you are most comfortable.

They are REALLY misunderstanding me on that thread! I even said at one point that "I come in peace" but one keeps insisting I have a hidden agenda! ME? Hidden? You think? I'm probably the most outspoken person I know and never play those kind of head games. I keep going back to see how else they've screwed up my words, though I've just been quoting themselves back! It's like playing with a tooth that is close to coming out...Yell

Kathleen, at one point you were there and said "Good point Barbe" and that felt good...Laughing

Barbe, it's impossible to reason with someone who douses wet leaves with gasoline, throws a lit match in and is surprised that it starts a fire because they aren't thinking straight.  Probably better to get out of there before you get burned.

PatMom, you were in there and I supported what you said! It could be a calm discussion...really! I hate when the poster doesn't get the answer they are looking for and then think everyone else has a hidden agenda! sigh............but I just can't leave it alone - it has been my anger outlet lately...hehehehehehehe

Kathleen thanks for trying to calm it down this morning by suggesting what I had suggested days ago. Maybe they won't think YOU have a hidden agenda.....sigh.

I AM loving the kitty pix! How the heck did they do that one Vivvy? Wire up the tails?
