Judy, how is Juia feelimg? Is she able to keep any food down?
Kerry, that is such good news from the doctor! No signs of cancer! WooHoo!!!
Jaimieh, speedy recovey on the sinuses!
I am off of the blood thinning shots now and taking coumadin with my tamoxifen. I think my energy is coming back a little bit. I don't need a nap every day and I haven't been getting as winded when I exercise.
Hugs to all furies!
-
Well, Cheryl, that is good news. Hope you just keep feeling better each day. You will not miss those shots!
Jaimie - hope you are having fun despite the sinus problems!! Have fun with Mickey! (we will be expecting photos...!)
Judy - hope you are doing well.
Well, after Onc yesterday, I see my Rad Onc today. Three month radiation follow-up. I really like my Rad Onc, he always sits and chats to us for a while - mostly about NZ! He is from Hong Kong, and always asks what I am doing in Canada when I could be in NZ. Actually, after the results of the MRI yesterday, I am not nervous about today. I am so relieved. You know, there is always that niggling doubt that even though they said they got clean margins, that they left something behind, or missed a node or something. So, such a relief to know that all is clean.
Then after school, we are off to the Cottage for the weekend. Yep, not exactly cottage weather, but I am hoping it warms up a bit. Next weekend is Thanksgiving in Canada, and every year we do a big family Thanksgiving the weekend before. So, there will be grandparents and uncles and cousins - the full works - i think there will be 22 of us.
OK, a big hug to everyone this morning. Have a wonderful weekend.
-
Cheryl that is great news. I hpe yoiur energy keeps returning.
Kerry have fun.enjoy your celebration
Judy I hope you are doing okay and Julia is tolerating food well. Oh btw I was told to take sudifed PE and it really helped with the dizziness.
Well my DH is loving life I have no voice ...lol.. The antibotic the dr gave me is horrible but I think it is working. I think we are going to the beach today. -
Just in case you were wondering, Miss Beach Girl, it is 4 degrees C here this morning......
-
Oh I would have to move Kerry. I am having a fit already at home and it has been in the 60's.
-
So, just saw my Rad Onc - waited 45 minutes for him to say, yep, you're doing well, I hope I never see you again!
Kids both in school, I am packing, then we are picking them up and heading off! And it is now raining...!
-
Hi Everyone-
So happy for Kerry and Marby!!! Cheers!!!
Let us know how things go Judy.
Have a great weekend everyone.

went to get my port flushed yesterday. there was a young lady there; couldn't have been any older than me... with her hair in a ponytail (so I know it was still hers)... they were giving her the red stuff and she was puking into one of those stupid pink basins... made me cry. I just wanted to make it all better for her... to tell her it gets better. I couldn't; I'm a wimp... <sigh> Did I ever mention how much I HATE this dz????
-
Ah, Michele maybe you will see her next time and let her know she will be okay. You can do it you are an inspiration
I'm a chatty Kathy though so I talk to everyone. The nurses actually tell me that if I am quiet then they know something is wrong.
Kerry~ I hope you are enjoying your Thanksgiving celebration and really celebrating

ROFL! Michele, that is great! Yet, I am enjoying wearing my pink "CANCER SUCKS" tank top today!

good news Kerry Mac!

Hi guys....well, Julia has been off her TPN for almost 2 weeks now (they don't give it to her in the hospital, either).....she is looking weaker every day. They took her bloodwork yesterday, but we haven't heard anything (using new company, not sure how long they take). I am sooooo ticked off at her doctor, this is the most unbelievable thing I've seen! We're giving her powerade to attempt to keep her potassium and electrolytes up, and using her saline injections to provide extra hydration, how sad is that...
I had another bout of vertigo this morning, worse than I've been having, but not as bad as the first one...no puking this time, and it went away faster....When I research my symptoms, there are lots of different things that can cause them (dizzy, headaches, ringing in ear, pressure in head)...allergies and even chemo nerve damage, so that makes me feel a bit better.
Kerry: so glad to hear that everything is clear!!! How wonderful!!! I hope the weather clears up so you can enjoy your weekend.
Mary: It sounds like things are going ok for you....glad you like your new onc. I hope you have great success with the Aromasin...and glad that you don't have to stay on a taxene.
Helen: thanks for the encouragement....that was a long time in the machine, for sure! I get kind of panicky in tight spaces, so I hope I can make it through.
Jaimie: It sounds like you are having a nice vacation (except for the sinus problems)....I'm with you on this cold weather up here, sick of the gray, rainy skies, and it's not even winter yet!
Well, as much as I'd like to go to bed right now, Julia's antibiotic infusion still has another hour and a half to go (we forgot, and were late starting it)....so I'm up for a bit longer. So I guess I should do some cleaning for Julia's family birthday party tomorrow.
Hugs
Judy

Judy, I'm so concerned about Julia! If the PICC keeps getting infected, have they thought about a port? I have a feeling she needs to have access for TPN! I am keeping you all in my prayers!
Last night I went to a fundraiser for a center that supports abused women. Lots of good food and dancing. Best of all I won the grand prize: $1000!
-
Judy~ poor Julia. Is she eating at all? Can she keep anything down?
Great job Cheryl!
-
Well, we had a lovely weekend away. Lovely weather on Saturday, my crazy kids went swimming!!
Judy - oh, I will be thinking of you guys. Hope Julia is doing OK today.
Cheryl - yah for you! Excellent news, I never win anything!!

Wishing everyone a good day.

Having a blast in Disney even with a cold. I had to tell you guys (you get my sick humor). A didney employee told me I had the best haircut of the day and I said gee thanks it only cost. 100,000 dollars
. I then explained that chemo gave it to me. ..lol. All the while smiling because I am here.
Hugs to all of you and I hpe everyone's week is going well. -

Jaimieh, Give our regards to Mickey! Glad you are having such a great time--you deserve it.
Apple, My hair is starting to grow, but too sparse yet for pics. However, I do have EYEBROWS! YaHoo!
-
Okay I have a picture just me in our room nothing fancy but no way of posting it. Can somene post it for me ?? If not I will post them when I get home.
-
Hi guys! I had no internet for part of the weekend....cable guy brought a new modem today, so I'm back in business!
thanks to all for your well wishes for Julia....we celebrated her 23rd birthday on Sunday....she had a nice time.
Michele: Julia doesn't keep food down, but she still eats...she actually eats alot! Since she had been gaining weight, we are assuming that SOME of it may be staying down. But not enough to justify pulling the TPN. She has good days and bad.... I will feel better when we hear back about her bloodwork.
Cheryl: Julia says that when she asked about a port, they told her that it is much more serious if you get an infection with a port...that's all I know about their decision. Maybe since she gets infections so often, it is a higher risk???
Jaimie: I could post it, but how would you get it to me? My hair is driving me nuts, it is getting thicker and wavy, and I can't control it very well. No matter what I do, it just starts sticking out all over the place. I can't wait for it to grow enough for me to get a trim so I can have a style.
Kerry: Sounds like a great weekend, glad the weather cooperated for you.
Well I must say that when I got up this morning, it felt really, really strange....because I felt good. I can't remember the last time I felt good, like normal good. No dizziness, no headache, nothing. I hope I feel like that again tomorrow.
-
Judy - happy to hear you are feeling better. Hope it was just all caused by a virus which has now left you! Hope julias bloodwork is good. Thinking of you a lot.
Jaimie - soooo happy you are haing a great time. That is a good line about the haircut, will have to use it!Bet the kids are so happy! Is the Hotel lovely?? I really am totally jealous.I've PM'ed you my email, if you want to send a photo I can upload.
Apple - my hair sounds like yours. I will get a photo....
Well, looks like I have a sick boy. He was up with a fever and cough in the night. Hoping it is just a cold, but you never know these days.
Anyhow, hope everyone has a great day!
-
OK, so terrible photo of me, but good of the hair!! As you can see, curly!
-
i love it Kerry.. so nice
-
Kerry it looks awesome
-
Kerry~ Your hair looks just like mine!!
Judy~ People getting TPN are at a much higher risk for sepsis. TPN is a GREAT media for bacterial growth. Maybe that's why they don't want to use a port? However, I thought that you *could* use a port for TPN so long as you used good technique...
-
Kerry: wow, your hair looks really good! I can't wait til mine has enough length to look styled. I'll have to get a pic of mine posted.
The pharmacy/nursing company called with Julia's test results today....said her bloodwork looked 'good' ....I finally asked what her potassium level was, and she says..."oh, it's kind of low, 2.9". I'm like, you call that good test results??? Her doc ordered an infusion of potassium, she is getting it right now, at home, which is nice--usually we would have to go to ER. I hope it helps her feel better, she looks so bad today. Hopefully this will prove to her gastro that she needs to be on the TPN.
Gotta run, dinnertime!
Hugs
Judy
