Glad to hear that the MRI went ok Judy.  Hope you get the results quickly. 

I wish we all lived closer too.  We are busy celebrating Thanksgiving in Winnipeg too!  

 Kerry - My daughter is in Toronto this weekend (Ajax actually)  celebrating Thanksgiving with her boyfriend's family.

So Judy Florida did have a heat wave while we were there.  I think they had record breaking heat each day...but it was still a blast.

Kerry~ It's a date then   We just will sit and scream at each other.

Cheryl~ My chest doesn't hurt it just looks odd.  It almost looks like a water bed when I touch it the way it moves.  The fluid build up is what caused my implants to have issues, I guess my body likes to make fluid....grrr...

Oh, Jaimie, your own personal boobie water bed. What luck!

 So, I was up half the night with the puppy. it is like having a newborn again. But she is very cute, and the kids are so happy. It was kind of our promise to them after I finished treatment.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I've got a big Turkey to cook, also making a Pumpkin Cheesecake which is the yummiest desert ever.  Have a great day!!

We think Hazel, from Watership Down, my favourite book....not 100% sure, as lots of names are still flying around. So far that seems to have stuck though.

Yep, all welcome for dinner! I always cook way too much, but at least we can eat leftovers for the next week. I've just been for a run (5km), and now I feel like throwing up! It is 1 C out there!

Can anyone give me some insight as to about how long the neuropathy lasts after final chemo?  I finished Taxol on Aug. 4, but am still having problems with my toes--and my feet are sooo cold, even in socks and a blanket.

Gramof3 ~ I didn't have much trouble with neuropathy, but I can tell you that I finished Taxol on May 5th, and my right hand still gets a little numb from time to time.

Hi girls....I know most of you already read this on FB, but for the rest of you:  My MRI was GOOD....I am NED!!!  Not sure why I'm dizzy, but at least I know what it isn't!

Helen:  I had lots of problems with neuropathy, and then it was like someone hit a switch a few weeks ago, and it just went away (still stiff/pain in fingers/ankles in the morning), but that's it!  I finished Taxol on June 2nd, so I guess it was about 3 1/2 - 4 months before it was better.

Kerry:  I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!  And that Hazel lets you get some sleep tonight!  Did you try the stuffed animal in the crate?

I am going to the Cancer center with my sister in the morning so they can aspirate her cyst....it is part fluid, part solid, so they want to check it out.  She is going where I went, so I figured I should take her and be there for her.  Then Julia has 3 appts this week, so very busy week ahead.

Julia is holding her own, somehow....she looks like crap, but she hasn't had to run to the ER yet,  One of her appts is with a new gastro, so hopefully she will be receiving much better care soon

Judy - again, I am so delighted you got the all-clear! The relief must be enormous. Still, it sounds as though you have a lot on your plate. Hope the week goes as smoothly as possible.

We had a lovely Thanksgiving yesterday - we will be eating Turkey all week! Puppy is so adorable, she is very playful!

Judy.. it is likely that you are dizzy with relief.. congrats.. a big smile for you!  Hopefully the new gastro doc will find a way to treat her.  My son#2 had horrid issues betw/ yrs. 7  - 9.  a new doc, a new med and he was functional.  hope that happens for you.

just wanted to stop by and say hi to the fabulous furies. glad to see everyone's doing well. especially happy for judy's happy news and kerry's precious new addition!

i'm doing well. still struggling with losing the chemo weight (a hurty lower back since june isn't helping. now i'm trying physical therapy). trying to find a happy place about the tamoxifen hot flashes. probably not doing my fips until sometime over the winter. don't know why i'm not in a hurry for them. i think, emotionally, i just need to get past my diagnosis/mastectomy anniversaries.

my avatar is actually from about 7 weeks ago! i'm using HAIRSPRAY now to keep the winglets in place. i think i'm officially at the "pixie" stage.

has anyone been doing any breast cancer walks? my team has raised just over $8,000 for this sunday's making strides walk! who knew internet fundraising could be so painless? and we have these adorable pink t-shirts that say "f*ck cancer" ... and where the "u" should be, there's a pink ribbon. and i have "survivor" buttons to wear on my hat. which is the best thing ever.  i'm so looking foward to sunday. i bet i cry happy tears the whole time.

Judy - I am so happy and relieved for you.  Hope your week continues on this note.

Kerry - Such a cute puppy.  Pets are an great addition to the family.  Great excuse to go for a walk too!  Congratulations on running.  I have reverted to the indoors.  The snow has mostly melted.  But, it went from 25 degrees, down to a high of 5 in 2 weeks.  Too cold for a big suck like me.  

Lisa - Congratulations on the walk and amazing fund raising.  My husband Tim and my daughter did a Canadian Walk a week ago.  Run for the Cure.  It was 5 km.  Tim put a photo on the fitness forum.  It is called I am so proud of my wife.  I cried when I read what he wrote never mind the run itself.  The walk raised 25 million across Canada.  We only paid our entry fee as we did a big fund raiser for the Relay For Life.  Almost all of our pledges were on line.  It was so easy.  Just sent a pile of emails out and the pledges came in.  Justine (my daughter) was the top fund raiser in the event.  Our friends, relatives, and business colleagues were so generous.  Also, the firm I work for is matching all pledges made by employees so the pledges are still coming in.  Hoping for around $7,000.  Enjoy your event.

I am also suffering with hot flashes still  (and I'm not on any hormone meds)....is anyone else still going through this?  I'm thinking this is actual menopause now, yuck.

More good news here...my sister's biopsy went great, it was just a cyst!  It turns out that it didn't have a solid part after all, someone who read the ultrasound thought it had, but they were wrong.  I am sooooooo relieved!!!

Apple:  we are so hoping that a new doc will make a difference, I am very excited about tomorrow's appointment with Julia!

I'm gonna try to get to bed early tonight, gotta be in Detroit at 9am.

Julia's appt went really well, I really like this doctor.  He genuinely cares and is very knowledgable.  The new plan is in place:  next Tuesday, Julia gets a g-j tube put in...it will bypass her stomach, and go straight to the small intestine.  He does not believe her bowels are paralyzed....he says he can hear her small intestines working.  He gave me hope today.

Anyway, no more TPN for now, which is good since it is so dangerous to one's organs; he is checking her potassium, etc, and will supplement there as needed.  The hope is that the nutrition 'shakes' through the new tube will stimulate her bowels to work better.  Then we will tackle the stomach issue to get her eating again.  Baby steps.....keep your fingers crossed for her!

Judy~ Glad to hear that you like Julia's new doctor and that you have a plan.

I had to go have my personal waterbeds drained again on Tuesday (Yuck!!) and I got fussed at on Monday because I need to go get an echo. done.  So after all of that I am done for the week...lol...  Scheduled my echo for next Wed. but I am not happy about it because I was supposed to have it done at the hospital where I get my car but they do no have an openings...grrrr....  Well they do have openings in mid. Nov. but I need to have it done before Oct. 30 or I can't have my herceptin.  I was also told on Tueday that I have to wait for my body to stop making fluid before I can start with my next reconstruction.  I'm not in a hurry I want to feel the best that I can and while I feel better I still have room for improvement.  I can't believe Oct. is half way over....
