Thats a little pill to split! never thought of doing that---whats the thinking behind 1/2 am and 1/2 pm? Have not had weight issues...mine are joint, muscle and bone pain, always made worse by changing weather, rain, cold/damp etc. ... all the icky things on the SE list ... I got -- except the hair and weight concerns ... enough so that I am on morphine and percocet (which brings its own issues). But you my dear are going to breeze thru this! remember that every day is one day closer to your end date
!!!
-
I don't know Elaine...just thought maybe I'd ease it into my bloodstream.. lol
You are right though...I just have to wait and see how it effects me. Of course I know what morphine is ... but what is percocet? Is it an anti-depressant? I've been on Lexapro for years...it's an anti-depressant.
Sharon!!!! I love Erma Bombeck!!!
-
ROFL... have to remember that Garfield quote Sharon!!!
-
Hugs to all of us on the hormone SEs. ((((((Arnie)))))) ((((((Jane)))))) ((((((Jayne))))))
Sharon, I'm with you on the getting older explanation!!
I HAVE TWO WEEKS OFF!!!!
-
Yay KAK!!!!! Enjoy........REST!
-
Have fun Kathi!
-
Big day & now my feet are up and the screens are hummin'.
My oncologist visit was totally uneventful & brilliantly boring. YEAH!!!!!
Bloodwork normal.
Checkup fine as well.
Then shopping for the Sat. outfit for the shower etc. No luck.
(I've done more shopping in the last 3 weeks than in the previous 3 years! LOL)
Then we saw the movie: "FAME" and had our first 'Sonic' burger.
Now curled up for the rest of the night.

-
Good for you Debbie, uneventful doctors appointments are fantastic!!
I've never had a Sonic burger. Hope it was good!
-
A happy dance for our sistahs who had good oncologist visits and those who are finishing treatment and feeling better!!! Woooohooooo!!!!
-
What does it mean "screens are humming"? Sound like something out of Steven King?
-
Screens are humming: at our house in the evening, we each sit with our own laptops popping all over cyberspace & the TV is on as well. So there are 3 screens and all are humming.
Very little Steven King.
This is like the sixth day in a row for rain, drizzle, over-cast, clouds. The grass is happier, but I miss the sunshine.

Wow - chatty lately! I had to read it all before posting. I had to laugh out loud at all the cartoons. The Garfield cartoon I liked was: I am not overweight - I am under tall!\
Sharon: Loved your Garfield and I love Erma Bombeck too!
Arnie: I don't know where you find your cartoons but they make me lol! I am praying you have little to none side affects.
Jane - let us know how the DH's banding works - my sister is thinking about having it done.
Percoset is a lovely little narcotic that at the least takes the edge of pain and at its best takes away the pain; however, like every other narcotic is additive. My theory on this is if you are in pain narcotics take enough of the pain away to make it tolerable and you don't get addicted as long as you take only when absolutely necessary and taper off as the pain lessens. This is certainly not what anyone else believes, especially the medical community but it gets me through the pain.
To everyone who is getting off meds and to all those with boring onc visits - yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, I think they were trying to kill me in PT on Friday!
-
I have one caution about pill splitting -- some of them are NOT to be split. For example, the coating on them to help avoid stomach irritation can be chipped and not be as effective. If I were going to split a pill, I would first ask the pharmacist and/or doctor, but I am a worry wart.
Good news on boring doctor visit and vacation time. Rest, Relax, and Rejoice. Hugs, Nancy
-
Nancy - good point - I have had prescription labels with that very warning - do not split.
-
I asked my niece recently (when complaining about all of the SEs from Femara), how they got all that stuff into one little pill. She said, "how do they get all that stuff in a little Xanax that'll knock you out for a day?"
DH is not a very patient patient. He's not liking his liquid diet. I went to the grocery store today and when I came home he was making himself some egg salad.
Arnie - I sleep like crap and I'm tired all the time. DH tells me that I've started snoring (terribly). He wakes me up in the middle of the night telling me I'm "gagging" I can't blame this on the femara. It could be from the weight gain.
-
(((((((((((((((((Jane)))))))))))))))))
Just wanted to point out that no one needs to do any housework this week -- as it's WEDDING week and all we need to do is reflect & celebrate.
Enjoy!!
-
Already! Have a great wedding week Faith! Can't wait to see pix!
-
Jane, just a thought but do you perhaps have sleep apnea? Ask your dh if before you do that gagging and loud snoring if your breathing stops. Tiredness is also a symptom.
-
Happy week Faith. I can't for the life of me figure out how the time from engagement to wedding has flown by so fast.
-
-
Yikes sooooooooooo big!!!! lol Anyway...have a great wedding week Faith!!!
While looking for a wedding photo found this....too funny!!!
rofl... Hope everyone has a blessed day!!!
-
Arnie - I LOL on both of your posts. The last one reminded me of attempting to put on those surgical stockings before surgery.

Awwwwwww team.
Thanks so much.
This last ten days or so has really had me in a tail-spin of attempting to juggle a variety of competing emotions -- at opposite ends of the spectrum.
We are so excited.
Bride found a terrifc dress to wear THIS Sat for our girls brunch and shower affair. The jury is still out on what I'll have on for that part of the fun -- but my sizzle dress makes me happy enough for both days.
Now it will just come down to what the weather is going to do. Can you get 39 people into a gazebo, if critical to do so? Just the thought of that reminds me of "Twister."
Remember the fun of that in Junior High? That was pretty exotic @ our first boy/girl parties. LOL
I told you this was a week for reflection.

I have been trying to do one thing each day and today I got some of the junk out of my storage unit and to the dumpster. 3 yrs ago when I moved from my house to this apartment, I brought a lot of "just in case" stuff, like a huge mega roll around trash can. It was good to ship my garden tools in and once I realized I only need a small spade and garden snippers, I felt even more like an idiot for lugging that stuff along. I put the bubble wrap and padding in the 2 large suitcases I did not want to throw away. And I found the boxes with Christmas ornaments. Maybe I will put up a small tree this year.
Then I went to Target because I had a $5 off coupon and got myself a new toaster oven. For one person, waiting for the oven to pre heat and wasting all that energy is silly. And one load of undies and towels got washed, but are waiting to go into the dryer when I get off the puter.
Hugs and Blessings for all of you, Nancy

I was tested a while ago for sleep apnea and they said that my sleep was more disturbed by my restless legs. It is possible, though, that since I've gained weight, I do have sleep apnea. I'm thinking maybe as my husband loses weight, I'll take over his CPAP. I tried breathe right strips and I thought I slept better, but my husband said I still snored.
-
Comforter is in the washer. Change the sheets today and 2 things to mail at the post office. And has anyone noticed how dark it is getting in the evenings? I played bridge last night and on the way OVER I needed to turn on my headlights.
Faith, I hope for lots of sunshine for the wedding. It is kind of overcast here and maybe the rain is heading way off into the ocean.
I wanted to comment on your songs. Long ago someone told me that song - singing is like another "language". Those with limited mental abilities can often communicate in song but not in regular "language". The neatest thing I remember is when I volunteered at the Veterans nursing home. I took my portable tape player. around Christmas I had a bunch of old time Bing Crosby and such tapes. Rocking Around the Christmas Tree, etc. When I went into the Alzheimers section I asked if I should turn it off, but the nurses said to keep it on. There were 5 men hanging around the nurses station, just standing there. All of a sudden they ALL broke out into perfect harmony and it was beautiful. They started a music therapy session and almost everyone responded positively and each time I volunteered I took "oldies" and we had a good song fest. Maybe you already know about music being like another language.
Happy Day for everyone and HUGS, Nancy
-
Oh Nancy. Thank you for taking the time to share that story. That is the 'exact' sort of example that I use in my workshops with teachers...... on the importance of music to children's development -- but particularly to children who have challenges.
It is THE most rewarding work to get to interact with children who have atypical learning & special needs and then to see what the music does for them. There have been numerous times where a teacher or parent is in tears -- observing the mini-miracle at hand..... I only learn after the event, why it was so amazing for little Johnny to have done X under my guidance.
OK. Campers. It's time for me to hunker down & get down to work. COUNTDOWN for real. I can't start packing the car until after Wed (when I sing @ Children's Hosp Childcare -- not the unit).... but there's plenty to organize. Including some flimsy gorgous lingerie for the shower.
Everyone have a great week & I promise I'm not doing any housework! LOL

Thank you faith. I was searching for the right word - those with "challenges". You are doing an amazing thing with the children and such a pleasure for me to read about. I cannot carry a tune in a basket, but I am enthusiastic and clap my hands and mouth the words when given the opportunity. Once upon a time I had a tambourine ( ? on spelling ), but someone called me the Salvation Army lady and I gave it away...
