    now I don't know about the corn because today's news says that eating fibre (corn is fibre isn't it?) reduces the risks http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6287915.stm 

    It also says that only works for premenopausal women - well when the children were little and I was premenopausal and working full time, I don't think there was time to eat all that fibre. And then it says that high body mass index did it - well, if that means being overweight, there it is again. It is my fault for what I didn't eat and what I did eat. Basically, it would have been safer not to get out of bed ever. And certainly don't eat or not eat.

    And I was beginning to think it was because I have peel and stick tiles on my kitchen floor instead of some other fancy fashionable flooring. And no granite or marble counters either. My kitchen (where I eat and don't eat the wrong things) is clearly the problem.

    Leslie, it was probably the things you did eat when pre-menopausal and running after your kids, eating whatever they left behind and not knowing they had dropped it on the stick-on tiles and picked it up and put it on those non-granit/marble kitchen counters.  You ate it anyway because, being the good person you are, you didn't want anything to go to waste.

    Leslie- I'll second the non fashionable kitchen. We had peel and stick tiles when we first got here and the city turned on the water too soon and flooded the kitchen....POP goes the tiles!!! I grew up in a town that was called the granite capital of the world...if you had told me then that people would be putting on their countertops i would have thought you had lost you mind...shows you how much i know. But i guess I ate off of all those el-cheapo surfaces and did myself in.

    If BMI has anything to do with it....well crap I gave MYSELF BC!!!

    Never was one for fresca myself...HAS to be the TABS. How did they come up with the name anyway?????

    AND i still think there is something to the training bra theory...Taught them too much and they rebelled...Course it could be a revolt from being squished in a mamogram machine...I know if someone did that to me I'd be a little miffed!!!

    Could it have been the Boone's Farm Apple Wine? Or Strawberry Hill?

    What about Mateus Wine bottle candles....dripping in wax...oh dear...it is all coming back now....

    Oh my gosh...Yago Sangria...the boys never drank that!!! They did  Colt 45 by the gallon!! AAAHHHH!!

    If it has to do with younger years then i would have to blame it on evan williams and moosehead beer...never been much of a wine lady...give me a bottle of captain morgan and it's on!!!!

    No wonder my tumour was so big - I ate my gum, I ate the red lips, I drank pop, I had LOTS of Barbies, I used a traning bra far too early, I was Naughty for a LONG time, I did the Mrs "first crush" name thing and I've got a spare tire around my middle!

    It all makes sense now...

    It has to be having too much fun. When I was Dx, last year, everything was going great and then BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Or it could be the orange pop dye, maybe they used it on cheddar popcorn,cheese puffs and cheetos.

    wearing pierced earrings and keeping them in even though my ears swelled and were sore and filling with pus.  Wearing the earrings anyway so I could be cute!  That pus went straight to my boobs.

    Knitting, now that might be OK. But crocheting - I used to crochet. Uses 1 needle. Now I have only 1 boob.

    I should have stuck with knitting.

    I must confess, I did write my little loves name (all of them) on my notebook with hearts and flowers and swirlies.  I also played with Barbie and her knock off cheap plastic friends.  I even had the Barbie Town House with the pull string elevator.  I chewed the wax lips, sometimes ate the wax bottles of sweet juicy goodness, and I had a kissing cousin who used to play doctor with me when we were 5 in a tent made out of lawn chairs and old blankets!!!!  If that wasn't enough to doom to breast cancer, I think I know what finally did me in............

    the unworldy pink but strangely addictive and oddly "cool" hostess SNO BALL!!!  I was addicted to them!  Was it the coconut or the pink dye.  Could it have been the horrid marshmellowy gooey center?  I STILL EAT THEM!!!!  Should I stop?

    i did crossstitch and embroidery..also use to paint a little..all activities that stopped with my second child..

    This thread has been soooo goood for the soul...please keep diggin ladies I know we can keep em coming.

    i personally think that with the horrible acne i had one of those big suckers just rooted all the way to my boob and infected it...ahhh maybe i squeezed too hard. Instead of popping it popped internally and traveled straight to the ducts. Maybe BC is one bg case of HORRIBLE internal ZITS!!

    HA! Pink snowballs, I remember those.  It remeinded me of all the pink waffer sugar cookies I ate as a kid. That darn pink dye!

    oh no!  this opens up speculation about the health effects of such delights as pink bubble gum and big red hotdogs!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    I shudder to think the total amount of pink wafer cookies I've eaten over the course of 38 years.  Euphoria sprang forth when the store started selling them in the big tub instead of just the little package!  I was so happy.  Now, I just sit in utter disbelief.  Undecided

    I guess there's hidden meaning in the think before you pink--- It's a wonder with all the pink they want us to embrace that tamoxifen isn't pink!!!! BUT if it was I could tell it from all the other ones I am taking cuz right now 3 of em all look alike-

    Breast cancer has been around longer than Barbie and most of the other funnies mentioned in this forum, but there has to be something in a lifelong diet of mostly sweet foods and drinks which, incidentally, rot the teeth and a study has already linked dental work (root canals especially) with breast cancer. Anyone have a root canal done within a year of diagnosis?
