-
My first bike was a banana bike
-
Do you remember dippity do for hair?
-
I occasionally see places to get RETRO PENNY CANDY, but some I have not seen in decades:
Flying Saucers -- but let me know if they have a more official name. They were like two communion wafers (but colored) sealed all around the edges and had some little candy BBs inside.)
Licorice Records -- came in black or red. It was not a "vine" but a more flattened strand of licorice (like a linguine) wrapped around and around itself to look like a vinyl record and always had a tiny jawbreaker for the center spindle hole.
Today's candy for kids is just NOT as cool. Laffy Taffy is no Bonomo Turkish Taffy (the one you had to smash on a hard surface to break into pieces.) Remember?
-
Not only do I remember Bonomo . . . but thanks to you I now have that stupid song from the commercial iplaying n my head!! B O N O M O bonomo,O O O . . turkish taffy. I once got selected to do a taste test for them. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
-
I'll have to erase that song from your head with this.....Hit It FARFEL:
N-E-S-T-L-E-S -- Nestle's makes the very best.....Chooooooooc--laaaaaate.
(Sure Nestle's is still around, but it's not the same without Farfel is it?)
-
Crap . . . for some reason that Nestle song has reminded me of the chaquita banana commercial.
I'm a Chaqita banana and I'm here to say. Eat a banana everyday.
Okay, follow this link to the most addictive commercial I've ever heard. To this day I still sing it everytime I walk down the cereal aisle. DH cringes and I think he's tempted to stop eating cereal just so we can avoid that aisle in grocery store. Here's the link! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1YcgDIO3J0&feature=related
-
Chiquita had a spokesmodel-banana! Don't remember the cereal ad, but the song is catchy.
I remember some products because of the catchy advertising they had back in the day. Now that I am old enough to drink it, wish I could try some RED ROSE TEA. I was so little when I saw their commercial, but it's unforgetable:

What about Plop, Plop, Fizz, Fizz oh what a relief it is...
-
The product lives on, but poor Speedy's long gone.
-
Going to bible school as a kid. They gave us koolaid and cookies. It was so much fun . Also had butter cookies that were shaped like a flower with a hole in the middle. I would stick em on my finger . lol Also making fun crafts. Would go home so excited. Wow that was many years ago. lol
-
Did you ever have spirograph?
-
I loved Spirograph.
My Sister had Super Spirograph..That you could build the outline form thing into different & bigger shapes. I still have it!
Remember how some circle shapes would have specific Pen holes all inked up- cause it was your favorite design : )
-
Chubby Checkers the twist I love that song
-
Getting your first training bra.
-
Do you remember your first kiss? lol
-
How about playing in mud puddles. Also making mud pies.
-
kbugmom, you're heading in another direction. Hope you don't mind if I bring it back around to products from bygone days.
Uncle Milton's Ant Farm, Amaziing Sea Monkeys, and Mexican Jumping Beans
I thought of these things in a group because they were all at the local "dime store" back in the day. These were items that you saved up your allowance for!
I had the spirograph too -- used to have one of those pens with ten inks in the barrel and used that to make some groovy far-out designs
-
The commercial for mt dew it will tickle your innards. The green bottle with mt. man on it .
